aka Stephanie L. Danielson. I've been an avid reader since a small child. My first loves were science fiction as well as general fiction books. Later, I began writing my own stories with a romantic flavor to them. With influences running the gamut from romance,sci-fi, and drama, my muse was found. In 2007 I was first published with Love Resurrected, and have since released over a dozen other books, mostly in the contemporary gay romance genre. I am particularly fond of young adult/college age boys to write about.
When not working on a new book, I can be found shooting pool and darts, hanging out with my husband, parents, and cat, cycling, skating, or spending way too much time playing computer games.
I like these books, they're just a little different from the usual. However, I personally don't think that this one can be read as a standalone, to really follow this book, I think that you need to read the first book, Opening Act .
Asher is such a lovely character, he's so sweet, I must admit that I wanted to slap Erik upside of the head many times whilst reading, he was horrible to poor Asher time and time again. I just wanted Asher to tell him where to go, and punch him in the face!
The story moves quickly. It really keeps your interest, but you must pay attention, such a lot happens, and you don't want to miss a thing. The pace of the story continues throughout, and it kept my interest til the end. If you like a fast moving, mystery with a lovely MC (Asher), you'll love this one.
Note - Waiting in the Wings is Book # 2 in the Upstaged Series by SL Danielson and Cheryl Headford. Reading Book 1 will help you to understand this book better. It can be a standalone based on the content. The writing style and pace, however, lend it much better to being a sequel.
Honestly, I love Asher. He is just so sweet. But, there are many, many times I want to slap Erik. His treatment of Asher is awful at times. Same with Billy and Vince. Billy is just horrible to Vince while they are separated.
The book is very fast paced. It jumps around a lot between the characters and there are times that thing happen very quickly, without any lead-up. So, be warned, don't read at a time when you'll get distracted. You need to pay close attention or you will miss something.
Overall, Waiting in the Wings is a great follow up to Opening Act, the first book in the series. It is definitely a worth while read.
Fantastic continuation of book 1. This story was full of drama, suspense, angst, and love. I really enjoyed following all of the characters through their ups and downs. Erik and Asher especially are wonderful characters who go through so much, it's heartbreaking watching them go through everything but they come out so much stronger. I loved watching Erik stand up for Asher and I really feel that he did a lot of growing up in this one and that he's finally ready to really commit to Asher. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
