As a kids book this wasn't a bad read. It was well written, had good flow and dealt well with some relatively complex issues that were realistic for kids in the 8-13 bracket that it seemed to be aimed at. I was engaged with the story and enjoyed discussing it with children.

Even better than the last, a wonderful middle grade. Honestly the family-focused slice of life stuff is one of my favourite sub-genres, and this is one the gems in the field.

My very favorite in the series (so far! I SO hope there will be more Pea books) - which is saying an awful lot, because this is one of my very favorite series. I love Pea's whole quirky, wonderful family and the friends and connections they gather around them. And oh, I love serious, dreamy, imaginative and vulnerable Pea. This book mingled humor and deep emotion just perfectly - and it had an utterly perfect ending.

I can't wait to read it again, many times!
