Could and should have been so much better.

Carrie has been dumped by her boyfriend Richard she's curvy and feels her weight played a large part in this, her boss is the billionaire David Ashcroft and since he's also incredibly handsome she has fantasies about him but since his dates are all stunning and slim she knows she's no chance, but what she doesn't know is that David has fantasies of his own that revolve around Carrie.
Ok, this is the kind of book I generally like and I wanted to like it more, yes I know it's cliched, curvy secretary, low self esteem hot billionaire boss and so on and so on, we more or less know the story before we even start to read but it's the characters that make the book.
As well as being cliched this was also contrived and a little jumpy in places and Carrie had way too many 'too stupid to live' moments for my liking in fact if there a bad decision to be made she'll make it, every time.
This is the first in series which I knew but I assumed the following books would be around different characters, they're not or at least not the next one since there's a lot of unanswered questions and loose ends.
This book is free so it's worth a read but it's not for me.

Not my cuppa. I don't care for a man calling a woman a bit¢h or a slut. It's offensive to me...even in erotic romance.

At the Billionaire's Pleasure(Billionaire Brothers Book 1)

This book to me was kind of different because I didn't like, for one being tied down during sex and whipping some ones rear end, and most of all
calling a lover master! And then for him to take my phone and only use the one that he gives me with only his number in it for me to call? No! I don't think so! Not my cup of tea, but others may love it.

This is a bdsm book so don't read if you don't like that stuff.

Now with that being said I found this book very enjoyable. The only problems I had was I felt their relationship progressed a bit fast. Then of course it wasn't the best example of bdsm that being said it wasn't the worst either.

Overall I found it a very nice story and will be reading the rest of the series.

2.5 Stars This whole review is a spoiler
Sigh...Usually when I write a review for books it's because I absolutely 5 star-LOVED it and I want everyone to know it! I don't like to leave negative reviews so I'm going to try and keep this in the constructive criticism category. Try..
A little background: I just finished reading a heart wrenching, emotionally draining fantastic book it was Portia Moore's If I Break. So I needed a little HEA pick me up ya know? And that's what this was supposed to be (for me at least). It has a billionaire wanting to sex up the plump secretary who has had bad luck in men, all the while his enemy trying to ruin his life in any way possible. Of course David (billionaire) being a super hot Dom has left some broken hearts....you guys know where this is going right? Right.
I liked almost everything in this book except ALL THE WOMEN! Especially the leading lady Carrie! Before I get to her though let's talk about the other women...Ugh! The ex's, the wardrobe lady he has, even his own mother!...Vindictive, petty, conceited and down right bitches. There was ONE woman in this book who wasn't any of those things I would even go as far to say she was nice but it was a brief encounter and she was married. Come on Morgan.
Now Carrie...insecure insecure insecure Carrie. I understood her "How could he possibly find me attractive" and "How will I survive when he drops me for a beautiful skinny model" inner thoughts AT FIRST(despite how many times David reassures her about them) because of her man history. But it continues on throughout the whole book! The only reason I kept on reading was because I was waiting, nay hoping and praying for her to grow a backbone and stick up for herself even just once! Grrr..but she doesn't EVER. Plus she keeps getting beat up and doesn't EVERRRRR fight back!!! It made me wanna bash my head into the wall like a bajillion times. You know the feeling -.-
M.G. Morgan why do you see women this way?? I think you should spend a little time thinking about the message you're sending..just please?! I liked the plot even as fast paced as it was I still felt the chemistry between David and Carrie sizzle..I just think you should know submissive does not equal spineless doormat. Food for thought Morgan...

Not my type of book, spoiler alert

Starts out ok. A little confusing. The book is only from her point of view. I didn't connect with either character. I found the story boring and drawn out. There are several more books in this series I will not be looking for.
Spoiler Alert:
He likes control, fine. He never explains what he wants from her. She's new to all of it and she never asks what's going on. A good Dom is going to make sure his Sub is comfortable and confident in their respective roles. He takes her to Dom Island and he's there for business. His business rival who has been disowned by his father because of the way he has dealt with the main male character, attacks and nearly kills her. Next chapter it's 3 days later when she wakes up in a hospital close to home. She's again attacked by the rival while in the hospital who tells her he's going to kill her. The hero arranges to get her released from the hospital and takes her to his family home. No nurse, and only one body guard to protect her. She wakes up the next morning and he's gone. No notes, no one there to help her. She wonders the house and ends up getting into a locked, crumbling tower. The door and lock has rotted away and with a little force it gives way. She thinks it's a good idea to go in anyway. He shows up right as a beam starts falling toward her and takes her outside. He explains how his sister died their many years ago. They are then verbally attacked by his mother for being there. We were told in the chapter before she never comes to the house because of bad memories. Why would they have kept the house and tower where the little sister died if it upset her so much. He takes her to his apartment and goes to work. She decides to go back to her apartment by herself while business rival is still loose and gunning for her. Of course he's there waiting. At this point I'm thinking when is this book going to end, I'm tired of it and just want it to end. I went on to find out there are more books. No thank you, this was enough. I'll just happily assume they make in the end.

I'm pretty sure that this is one of the worst books I've ever read. I don't know where to begin. How about with the heroine - Carrie? The book synopsis calls her insecure, but I'd like to add incredibly stupid. Her decisions and subsequent actions defy reason, even for a fictional character. And her boss, David. We know this type very well. Handsome, fit, aloof, wealthy, and controlling....all of the necessarily elements needed for the "typical Dom."

The writing style also left much to be desired. I suspect that the author is not American as there were idioms and phrases that are not commonly used by Americans; for example, "fancy some coffee." The author also referred to panties as "knickers," an elevator as a "lift," color was spelled "colour," and ass was "arse" on several occasions. I note that many of these terms were used interchangeably, sometimes within the same paragraph. While technically these terms are correct, they're just not for the right audience, particularly since some of the story is set in New York. An editor worth their price would have corrected these inconsistencies.

Mix all of this with a lack of chemistry and a plausible plot and it will result in time in your life you will never get back. This book is not even worth the free price, which it was at the time I downloaded it. Spare yourself and skip it.

0.5 stars. This book did not have a great story, did not have in depth character building. First couple of pages you have main character heartbroken about a breakup then turn the page and she's flirting with her boss and giving him her underwear. Really just because it's a romance doesn't mean you can just skip ahead to just the erotic moments, most of us need connections to the characters..ALOT of drama surrounds the characters but between the drama and sex that's all,the story just jumps from one scene to the other. Good thing this was free and short or I would have been really upset I wasted my time on this book. Please authors just because the genre for sexy romance is booming doesn't mean you can just throw anything out there without quality and we the readers will swoon. Pass, give me characters that I can't wait to read more about, great stories, great romance then I'll buy your books. The majority of the time I'll buy the rest of the series after the first book (free), which profits the author. So keep that in mind when throwing sub quality series of books at us and expecting the readers to follow, again PASS! Won't recommend this book to friends!

Inane and totally stupid...Twenty chapters of torture to my brain...I hated every page of it! However, I always try to give the author the courtesy of finishing their work, or in this case, train wreck. Carrie is a co-dependent, self-hating complete idiot who deserved the beat down(s), both verbal and physical since she refused to like herself enough to protect, yes I said protect, herself. If you don't love anything about yourself and long for others to complete you, how the hell are we to believe David, the idiot billionaire and supposed Dom, to give a flying fig about an overweight, self-loathing basket case that is Carrie? As aloof as David is, I can't believe he has billions that haven't been squandered away from him by smarter beings, which is anyone with a pulse besides Carrie. 0.1 stars. No way in hell will I read another despicable word from this author's pen in this horrid series!

I liked this story. It had the right balance of mystery as well as a love story. I liked it enough that I bought the box set (1-3) and the rest of the series. Was about 140 pgs.
Carrie was a chunky girl. Her boyfriend just left her for a skinny blond, so she was down on herself. Her boss (David Ashcroft) was a billionaire and she was his secretary. He has always liked her. So when she came in to his office he ordered her to go to the bathroom and take off her panties and come back to him. She got the thrill of it all when she came back. She was shocked and turned on. And now he wants more from her. He wants to offer her a deal she can't refuse knowing she likes him too. Their love builds over the next week as a business deal goes crazy.

I had started another book that jumped right into the sexual "relationship" (if that's what it's called) and I stopped because I just couldn't go any further. This book started the same way without any real character building. I continued reading and did find a little bit of a story there. I was able to blaze through in less than 24 hours, which is out of the norm for me.

There were places where the grammar was a bit difficult but eventually I realized that the author is probably from England based on some of the words used like lift for elevator and bonnet for the hood of a car.

I'm not sure I want to read the rest of the books in the series. $2.99 for less than 75 pages of text is a bit much for me.

Read it if you choose to but you won't find a lot of depth.

Romance and suspense!

A great read! Great plot and story. A few good/scary shocks makes this a book I didn't want to put down.
It was nice to see David "the Master" not come across as too forceful or violent which I see a lot with books that use BDSM within the story. The BDSM part of the novel does not go into too much detail about the life style. I found this was not a negative although it would be nice to see why David believes himself to be a Dom and into kink. I can also see Carrie taking on the role of Domme, maybe M.G. Morgan (great author I have read and enjoyed books) could do a Switch story.
There a several more stories within this series, I'm off to enjoy them now.

Overall 3.75

This book felt like it took me in two directions. I felt like there were two parts of the story, the start of the relationship and then the jealousy storyline it felt like two completely different stories.

The first part: 3.5 stars
It was pretty good. I liked how he made her feel better about herself. Also there were pretty good erotica scenes ;)

The second part: 4 stars
The "jealousy" storyline (I don't wanna spoil anything), it was very action packed and suspenseful for me. I loved it! I prefer suspense over romance but this was still a good book overrall. I would read the next one!

At the Billionaire's Pleasure is about Carrie, an young insecure plump woman and her sexy boss. Her last boyfriend dumped her with unkind words, which increased her insecurity about her body and attractiveness. David, her boss sees her entirely differently as a beautiful, attractive and interesting woman in need of him.

A business deal is on the brink of falling through and David with the help of his brother save the situation but a rival wants revenge. The rival attacks Carrie on several occasions. Will David keep her safe or will the crazy rival take his revenge? You will have to read to see if their love has a chance.

This book was lacking in depth and character development. The author is dabbling in BDSM but from reading this book has no knowledge or experience in the subject. In my opinion it would have given this book better complexity had more time been spent developing the characters versus introducing the added element of BDSM. The protagonist's consistent insecurity about her weight began to be an annoyance as the book progressed. While I can appreciate the author's goal of introducing a non stereotypical female lead, the consistent insecurities made her desirability to the lead male character unbelievable.

David that boy is all animal in the bedroom, "I'm going to cum in you, Carrie. I'm going to flood your c*** with my seed. Mark you inside as mine." Carrie she's not some fragile little flower, well she is about her body issues but the girl still knows how to stick up for herself, "I looked up into David's face. "So that is all I am to you. A piece of property. Just another thing that belongs to the great and wonderful David Ashcroft." I enjoyed the book it was okay, I mean there's two other books after this one so I can't wait to see how their story develops.

No. Just no.

I just wasted an hour of my life on this book. Only reason I even finished it is because I can't not finish a book. This reads like a 14 year old found mommies copy of 50 shades of grey and tried to cram all 3 books into one but kept getting side tracked. There are tons of loose ends and from skimming the other books it seems none of them get tied up. The Language is terrible, absolutely no character development or a really a plot line, it just seems to jump from place to place. Save your self the disappointment.

Don't think I would read anything more by this author. The style was inconsistent, sometimes British sometimes American. The heroin, if you can call her that, consistently did really stupid things, and David let her. Although she had worked for him for a while, she walks into his office and out of the blue he says "take off your underwear and give them to me" and what is worse she immediately does it. So many things had me shaking my head. I was truly disappointed and I don't say that about many books.

I read the Amazon reviews that dissed this book, and even though I usually adhere to them, I read this anyway. I should have listened. The heroine was so stupid it boggled the mind, and the "Billionaire" couldn't protect his way out of a paper bag. The situations were unrealistic, and his bossiness wasn't attractive - even when it didn't border on sexual harassment, he was an ass. I'd have hit him upside the head.

The grammar was good. The plot was decent, but unfortunately completely driven by the the insipid main character's self doubt.
It was really frustrating that she kept insisting she was better, more confident, and growing with the hero at her side, when there was no sign of growth from the beginning to the end. She was exactly the same person, and she neither believed in herself or the hero.
Two stars because atleast the grammar was decent.

Whoa Nelly! I have read boring ass technical reports that were more interesting than this book. It was a freebie and I figured "what the hell". Well, I should have looked at the Goodreads reviews before I downloaded this one. It was a lesson well learned. So this one's a **DNF** for me and it has earned **1/2 star**for the author putting words on pages. And know what ...I can't believe there's a second book! Seriously?!?!

While a good story, the book was mostly PWP. The plot came very late into the book and wrapped up to quickly and neatly. The main character Carrie was entirely to insecure and wishy washy for me. The final nail in the coffin was how fast she fell in bed with him (the same day he approached her) and the speed of the relationship (one week and they were in love and spending eternity with each other). I will not be continuing this series.

This entire story seemed rushed. The premise was good, which is the only reason it for even 3 stars but everything from the plot to character development was far too rushed. I honestly considered giving up on this book because the first half was by far the most atrocious part. I will not be reading any other stories in this series.

I agree that language could be better and repeating words bothered me a little and heroine was TSTL most of the time when she was left w/o hero to decide for herself. There were too many questions that were left unanswered and characters that just didn't play any part in the moving the plot just sitting there to fill the pages, but somehow it was not as bad as you can imagine.
