★★★★! London Lace, book 1-5 (complete series). Debut by Catou Martine. Enigmatic, bossy, mature and oh so sexy Sir Todd embarks on a no-strings-attached sexual affair that quickly becomes more complex.
This is a series consisting of 5 parts that combined make a 340 page read. I recommend reading as a set and thus I have reviewed as a set. Please note this is the Omnibus.
Hero: Sir Todd Montgomery/British/race horse breeder/aristocrat/40 years old approx./dark brown hair/blue eyes/6’1”
Heroine: Eliza Keating/British/Business owner (Candied Locks)-milliner/29 years old/dark brown hair/brown eyes
Story is told from Eliza’s POV (in 3rd person).
Eliza and Sir Todd are supposed to go on a blind date. Instead there first meeting is a disaster. After Eliza “tipsy calls” Todd in the middle of the night to tell him off he ends up stopping by for some hot sex. What starts off as great no-strings-attached sex quickly turns complicated. Todd’s and Eliza’s story ends up being bumpy one with anything from individual baggage to secrets, lies to vindictive exes and more. Add to that the tabloids trying to find a juicy story.
Sir Todd (well as it turns out Eliza is the only one allowed to call him Sir!) has many amazing qualities. At first glance is very handsome and sexy and he is great in bed; bossy and all about aiming to please. He is also enigmatic and brooding with darkness in his past. He is very mature, but above everything I love the way he always knows how to handle Eliza and he says the most profound and insightful things. And oh, did I mention he is Brit?!
Eliza is a “Rags to riches” story; coming from a poor upbringing and after making it as a milliner she has tried shut the door to her past. Career wise she has done really well for herself; she is strong determined and motivated. It’s evident early on that her unresolved past has plagued her relationships and they will play havoc on her and Sir Todd’s. Like so many heroines paired with great heroes, she managed to annoy me at times. This is very much her journey of self discovery and closure.
That said, for some reason I did not connect as well with Eliza as I might have wished. There was something about the 3rd person narrative that left me on the outside, wanting to connect better with her. I might have also wished to get Todd’s POV. I liked so many qualities in him, but I feel like I missed knowing him better.
The sex is off the charts:
And their sex becomes a bit explorative with them venturing out…
Catou Martine did a great job with Todd’s and Eliza’s story. Despite the drama and turmoil it ended up very much being a “feel good” read so I am recommending their story!

I absolutely loved this series!!! This story is so true from many women, thinking that they are not good enough for the guy they are with. I love the characters in this story. Eliza and Todd are amazing. Their chemistry is hot! Eliza's friends Tori and Stella are wonderful and lets not forget Carmen and Tatum too!!!
I don't want to get too much away, but I love the story of "poor" girl falls for "rich" boy. It's not really that way, but she didn't have any money growing up and he had it all. With the media involved and lot of secrets, it made me really wonder if this relationship could hand everything thrown at them.
I love how this story had great sexual chemistry from in the beginning, but in #5, their chemistry exploded. The whole story climaxed and I really didn't know which way it would end. I can't believe what happened at the "Snow White" cottage.... It really was a life changing experience for Eliza and what happened after, should make us all feel better about ourselves if we feel we are not good enough.
Oh I just love, love, love the ending. <3

There was something compelling about this story, so much so that I continued after reading part 1. Despite the fact that this is an insta-love kind of story, I liked that this was a combo of highly erotic love scenes and romance.
Eliza is a milliner, building her business from the ground up with a lucky job from a royal, who also becomes her friend. Tori sets Eliza up with her husband's distant cousin, Todd. And their meeting doesn't go as well as anyone would hope... but it's cute, still. She drunk dials him and they hit it off... but Todd's bad at communicating or talking, really. And Eliza's feeling things she doesn't understand nor thinks she deserves... and that's the crux of this story.
And let's not forget this is an erotic romance. These two hump like rabbits: not just in beds, but in hallways, horse stalls, cars, trains, on a beach, and they have a group encounter with her friend Tori and her husband. I didn't see that coming.
Only 4 stars because I wanted more from Eliza's character. Some additional information on her background might have made this story deeper and richer. There's brief discussion of her promiscuity in her youth, earning her a reputation and a moniker.... but it really went nowhere, when it should have gone somewhere.
However, I loved that Todd was as vulnerable as Eliza in many ways and says really romantic/erotic things: "I want to be blind to the rest of the world because you've made me see what my world could be." Sigh.
There's an HEA which is somewhat anticlimactic, but fulfilling nonetheless.

This was one of the best series I have read. It had everything...a plot, hot sex scenes, drama, and everything else you can think of. Eliza and Todd seemed like opposites when they first met. But as the story progress, you found out that they are not so different after all. I was just so caught up in the story that I forgot about the real world. I just wanted to know what was happening between Eliza and Todd. It was such an emotional roller-coaster but I loved it. I just wanted a happy ending for Eliza and Todd. They both seemed to deserved it. This series was funny and dramatic! I just couldn't put it down! I was very sad to see it end but happy with the end result! Sir Todd was very hot and I wished that he was a real person. Eliza seemed like the girl next-door which made her a little relatable. The supporting characters were great and went with the flow of the story. I would really like more of Todd and Eliza and their blissful relationship but satisfied with the happy ending! Catou Martine is an amazing writer and I can't wait to read more from her!

After a failed coffee meet up, Eliza wrote Todd off as just another bad idea for a blind date. It did not take her long to realize he was going to be a force she could not reckon with. That familiar spark comes to life, but, is it enough to keep their affair alive? Does Sir Todd Montgomery have a life that has no room for Eliza, someone that does not live within the circles he must. Can Todd convince Eliza how much he cares for her and still live up to the requirements of an aristocrat? The series comes to a climax that leaves the reader wondering if what they hope will come to fruition really will. You will love, hate, love? Sir Todd and struggle with your feelings for Eliza. Excellent series, I will probably read it again to experience their love story over!

Great love story. Two complicated individuals from different sides of the tracks, can their love grow and survive? I love this story because the characters are well defined with a masterful style. You understand them and feel for them. In addition, as the love affair moves along, you watch them grow and struggle with their pasts and the forces that continue to affect their lives.

Eliza is up and coming in the hat design field, her friend Tori sets her up with her husbands cousin, the 1st meeting between Todd and Eliza doesn't go well. After a night out things heat up with Todd and Eliza. Things move quickly for the two but it seems like things keep getting in the way. This is a great read that moves quickly and you can't help but fall in love with the book and the characters!

I really enjoyed this series! I got hooked fast! Love both Eliza and Todd! Both of them have different upbringings. Both were set up by a friend of Eliza's. Eliza's history with blind dates always did not go well. Their first meeting did not go well. Things did changed several hours after their encounter. There are a lot of hot and romantic moments in the stories. Great job Catou and can't wait for more of your stories!

Loved it.. Fun, sexy and sweet - a quick read as all 5 books together only totaled 215 pages on my Nook. It never got dull or boring; I really enjoyed this one!
