I need a drink...

There's a reason for the one star. I actually have a review done already but stupid GR refreshed itself and it just disappeared!! Ugh!

So anyway, one star. Why?

1. Plot is all over the place. It feels like the author thought of every single plot out there and put it in this book. Unrequited love? Double check. One night stand? Check! Baby drama? Check! Hero in love with OW? Check! Terminal disease? Check! Death? Check! Semi adorable kids? Triple check! Douche hero? Check! Rando

Omo... It's freaking 2am and I feel like I'm having a heart attack!! This is so cruel. Since english is not my main language, I had to reread these words
(view spoiler) over and over again just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. My mind was thinking maybe I missed something? Or maybe.. this book is paranormal and she'll fuckin' come back.. but nope. (vi

This book for me is an anti-romance novel. Sure it's about people falling love and babies and it has some steamy scenes, but the set up of the book just doesn't sit right with me. And honestly, there are really two love stories in this book involving Gage, our leading man, and you have to be one talented author to make someone fall in love with two heroines in a book and this was not that book.

I think it's cruel for the author to make you fall in love with the love story of H/h and then she mak

Beautiful Misery is book two in the Beautiful series. This series has endearing characters with life long friendships.

Beautiful Misery features NFL quarterback Gage Tucker. He is a bad boy and a player. He has been burned in love and wants nothing to do with it. He is hanging onto the emotions of lost love. He can’t let go of that elusive dream. But life has a way of throwing passes that take the player down.

Gage has gotten his best friend’s little sister Cobie pregnant in a one night stand enta

Where to begin...have you ever finished a book and than asked yourself why??
I have - right after I finished this book. To be honest I'm shocked I finished it at all. the thing that bothered me most about this book was the H. Who is he in love with?
This book was all over the place. I for one am a TOTAL sucker for angtsy romance but this one was just too much. I didn't feel any connections with any of the characters and that may be due to the lack of character building.

Okay, I’m going to be honest – this was a really hard book for me. I generally read for fun, to escape the day to day life, and this book was about the furthest from an escape that you could possibly get. I liked the first two books in the series – Beautiful Goodbye and Beautiful Chaos, both about Larkin and Jenna, so I was excited to read Gage’s story. Especially after the way Jenna did him wrong in Beautiful Goodbye. But, this is not an easy book to read. It’s very emotional and will put you t ...more

Gage is terribly broken. The life that he loved and was seemingly perfect ended up destroying him. When he lost Jenna, he turned to alcohol and women to cover the pain and sadness. He used women to fill a void in his soul. A void that Jenna had left. Until one night when he tried to fill the void with Cobie. But it seems Cobie was just as guilty of using Gage as he was of using her. Here’s the catch, there is always a price to be paid when things like this happen. Urgent and needed pleasure resu ...more

"When one door closes another one opens." This quote definitely shows true in the book Beautiful Misery by Chandin Whitten. This of the second book in The Beautiful Series, although you don't need to read the first one to get the whole story. Gage is a NFL Quarterback who has had his heart broken by his best friend. All of his relationships with females are strictly sexual for his own needs. This is how he copes while watching the woman he loves live her life with his other best friend. Then his ...more

Best Book I've read this year! This book takes you to the highest of highs and then yanks the rug from under your feet! Get the tissues ready, because you will need them! This book is such a beautiful and well written story you get drawn in immediately!
Is it possible to improve on the first book? Hell to the yes!!! This book was such a heart wrenching emotional roller coaster! Gage "Mother Fuc**ng" Tucker is what every single woman hopes is out there for her. He is sexy, genuine, and oh so manl

I did not read this book right away, after it first came out and I read A LOT of reviews I thought it was best to step back, clear my head of the reviews before I began this book. So here I am 2 months later, read and finished it in one sitting.
I guess I am still in awe, this book was a total SHOCKER.... To the max and one story line I did not quit follow. I guess if Gage was meant to suffer to find his true meaning and love in life.... Why bring Cobie into the story at all?!? That could of been

Note: This is a 30 mins post "The End" review... My feelings could change tomorrow... if so, I will update ;)
I am so torn over this one! The story overall... I cried, I sobbed, I had angry pep talks with the author via my kindle but I smiled and laughed, and OK, maybe I swooned a little bit too. I think my issue is that I connected with Cobie and Gage. I pulled for them, I felt it and then.... ALKFJLDIFIACNKSAFISLKASDI!!! I won't give it away but I will say at one point during

I was so excited about Gage's book, you know I was looking forward to reading this book but then I was so fucking disappointed at the end.

I mean really!! Did you really have to go and kill the happily ever after Gage was suppose to have. I was reading through it and halfway towards the book I was gutted really. I don't know what else to say but just that I really hate this book. The first book was waayyyy better then this one. I was so hyped up about Gage's book b

If you thought the love triangle between Jenna, Larkin and Gage was hot, you just wait till you get into the life of Gage and his many women. This book was gut-wrenching and I fell in love with every character in this book. Jenna and Larkin found their happily ever after but will Gage? Or will he have his whole life taken away from him?

He is a big football star with the world in his hands, yet he feels empty and lonely. I think everyone will be able to relate to one or more situations in this bo

Ok I need to start off by saying I'm happy and sad. I thought it was a lil cruel to tease me that Gage would finally be happy, then snatched it away from me. I cried like a so wasn't fair to him, Cobie or anyone else, but I understand that's life and not everything ends up the way we want it to. "It takes a strong heart to love but it takes a stronger heart to continue to love after being hurt." Then on to the second part. I'm glad that he got Annie and vice versa...they both had simil ...more

I didn't read part one first (didn't know there was a part 1) So I just met Gage in this book, He wasn't so nice in the beginning he was hurting from Jenna. Gage truly redeemed himself shortly after. I feel his love for Jenna was just that of a best friend, a sister! The circumstances with Cobie were rushed but I truly believed he loved her, He was broken hearted when she died. This part of the book had me crying, sobbing badly. I was glad Gage found Annie, I thought she was perfect f

Gage really worked his way into my heart in Beautiful Goodbye so I've been waiting & hoping & dreaming about his story for so long. Beautiful Misery isn't what I had expected but the story didn't disappoint me. It made me laugh out loud, cry my eyes out, scream in frustration & jump for joy.
I'm such a fan of these characters & can't wait for the next Beautiful installment as well as the new spin off series about the joys in the band.
Thanks for sharing your heartache over your f

One day I will learn to ALWAYS check reviews before buying a book. I bought the book based on the synopsis thinking it would be a standard NA romance, but I got about 25% in and something just felt "off" about the story so I skipped to the end and found out I was right. Not my kind of book. Then I went ahead and read some reviews and saw people either loved or hated it and I can understand that. I won't rate a book that's a DNF (unless it's just horrible writing) just because it's not my kind of ...more

Sep 08, 2014 rated it really liked it not read this book unless you are confined to your home. Do not attempt to read before you meet your best friend for breakfast because the ugly crying is not attractive.

Yes, you will cry. Promise. I thought okay I'm going to throw on my big girl panties and push through and I was doing well until I wasn't. I couldn't help the tears that escaped. Now it's not all sad, it has it sweet moments and the crazy ones. After the tears I wasn't sure I could go on but I did and I'm happy. St

Wow I absolutely love this series! Beautiful Misery had so many twist & turns. Love all the characters. In all seriousness, you better have a box of tissues close. Because you will absolutely need it during those twist and turns of the story Beautiful Misery! I can't recommend this book enough. But be sure you have read the first 2 in the series first! Cause then you have the background of the story.

I love this series, it takes us on a journey with a group of friends throughout their life. Gage is the bad boy, women and drink get him through a heartbreak. He meets Cobie, I'm not going to tell you what happens as that would be a major spoiler. Having gone through something similar lately the subject matter & writing broke my heart. Gage works through his issues and is happy at the end. If you've not read any of this series start at the beginning as most of the characters are in each book ...more

The only reason for the 4 stars was the grammatical errors. Those weren't terrible but there were a few places where the son Gabe and Gage were mixed up. Great non typical love story. This book was like two love stories in one. The first half tears you apart emotionally and the second puts you back together.

I'm sorry I never let a book unfinished but I really can't continue this book till the end... I hate this kind of stories when the writer plays with your feelings and makes you fall in love with someone and then takes that away from you... Truly that happens in real life but maybe I'm wrong but almost always I want to read in a book something different of what I see everyday!
