She forgot how to hate, and now she’s learning how to love... Brain-damaged Nia Beaudine can’t remember her life before The Accident. Someone intentionally ran over her and left her for dead. Now she’s living in the ‘witch’s house’ she inherited in the village of Miracle, relearning how to live on her own. Well, almost on her own – the talking cat helping her cope is a bonus. But when a hate-filled family member shows up with a gun, Nia knows she needs real help. Former Army Sergeant and PTSD sufferer Rob Ackerman regularly covers for his identical twin, the village constable, and answers Nia’s emergency call. This strange young woman immediately sees he’s not his brother. In return, he sees that the only way she can fully live in her new life is to find out why someone in her old life tried to kill her...and might try again. As they dig up Nia’s past, the attraction between them grows. Their brains may be damaged, but their bodies and hearts are working just fine.

Sweet romantic, heartbreaking and tasty. Do not read this while hungry ! The pie descriptions are mouth watering. The characters are strong independent people who live full lives, are honest and hard working. I really liked them and their actions, very respectful. I love it when a writer develops strong respectful relationships in their characters.
i was disappointed that there were no recipes :(

After being run over by a car Nia has been left with no memories of her life before. All she knows is everyone in her family despises her and one of them tried to kill her. Her only ally is Bast, a talking cat who is determined to guard her come what may.

Returning from Afghanistan with his own ghosts, Rob the identical twin brother of the local cop, shows up at her house after she calls about an intruder. After failing his comrades in Afghanistan, he's determined to save Nia from whoever it is that wants her dead.

description

Miracle Lane isn't the most well written book I've read, but it's one of the most interesting concepts I've come across. It's hard to know where to put it. The book begins with a talking cat but it crashes into some very dark topics. It felt like a cross between that old Jimmy Stewart film, Harvey and a Japanese cartoon called Kiki's Delivery Service.

It's a whimsical fairytale but with a dark almost insidious undertone.

I really enjoyed Katie and Gabe's story. Katie is content with her life and doesn't want to make any changes. Her friend Rosa, pulls Katie out of her shell and asks Katie to help Rosa with a cooking show pilot. Katie is unsure about this but doesn't want to say no to a friend, so she agrees. Rosa brings in Gabe to film the pilot and the story sets off into an emotional, heartfelt read about how the people in Miracle deal with the ups and downs of life. Everyone has their issues. Everyone has their secrets, but at the end of the day, the village of Miracle rallies around one another.

Gabe and Katie are the main hero and heroine in the story. They both have feelings for each other but with Gabe living in Chicago and Katie living in Miracle it is not an easy relationship for them. Neither of them want to say goodbye to each other or their life's passion. Gabe has only recently learned that his passion is filming videos of children with cancer and their families and feels he has to do it in Chicago. Katie's passion is making pies for her friends, family and customers in Miracle. Chicago and Miracle are just too far apart. It takes these two some time and some help from friends to figure out a way to make their love for each other and their passions work. A miracle you could say.

In addition to Katie and Gabe, there are several other story lines that overlap. We get to watch Rosa deal with the breakup of her marriage, but finds her passion in cooking at a local restaurant We watch Katie's best friend Trish and her husband Gunner deal with being pregnant with quads while Gunner loses his job. The whole town rallies behind them. Everyone in Miracle wonders what the miracle is going to be that is prophesied, but it is actually a bunch of miracles happening to different people. That is my opinion at least.

I think Edie does a fantastic job of writing fictional stories that have so much real life stories and emotion put into them. You laugh, you cry and you love while reading Miracle Pie. I think many readers have been affected by one or more of the issues that Edie has written about which allows the reader to relate to the story so well. Whenever I am done reading a Miracle Interrupted story, I always feel a strong sense of hope. I highly recommend Miracle Pie to anyone looking for a miracle.

****4 Cute Heartwarming Stars****

This book was a breath of fresh air. It was cute, funny and heartwarming with a bit of a twist.

This was a great days read and even though I haven't read the first 2 books in the series, I was not in the dark with the characters.

Miracle Lane is a story about Nia who can't remember anything before her "ACCIDENT" which was really an attempt on her life. When she woke up after 3 months in a coma, she was like a newborn baby who had to learn life all over again. This was Nia's second chance at life since the people in her past informed her that she was a "husband-stealing", promiscuous bitch. Nia is quirky, adventurous, funny and can talk to her cat "Bast".

In comes Rob, after he answers a call meant for his twin brother who is the town's constable. Rob immediately can tell something is different about Nia and swears to protect her from her family and her would-be stalker. Rob suffers from PTSD after serving time in Afghanistan and hasn't been able to live life fully until he meets Nia.

The final main character in this book is Bast. Bast is Nia's talking cat and part of the story is told from her POV. Bast is definitely the comic relief in this quirky story!

Rob and Nia throughout the story help each other heal, love and find things to live for after experiencing a past full of lies and tradegies.

REVIEW:

This book makes your heart feel warm and happy. Now the stomach is a different thing. It wants PIE. The characters were so real. They were friendly and their personalities were very strong. You felt like you were right there with them. The town of Miracle is a miracle. Everyone who visits or lives there is filled with it's magic. And, we can';t forget Happy, the good old Beagle. And the pies, you can almost smell and taste them...

Well, there's Gabe, just one look and you don't have to say much. Heart slow down, Get yourself a copy of this heartwarming book and find yourself a quiet place to take time to read. The miracles in Miracle never stop. Wouldn't it be nice if everyone had a friend like Katie? She is always there and ready with her Everything Will Be All Right pie. So if you like to feel warm and nice inside, if you like pie (and who doesn't) then grab that book. A job well done by Ms. Ramer.

I would give this book 5 Stars

I read this all in one sitting Sunday morning and enjoyed it immensely. The heroine is quirky and gutsy...she's lost her memory due to being run over by someone who wanted to kill her, and she doesn't know who it was. The hero is also damaged and a bit of an odd duck, and the two of them working together to figure out who is once again trying to kill her, made for a deeply moving and entertaining read. There was a touch of mysticism to this story, much like the first book in the series, and this one had a thread of darkness in it too, which I liked.

The Miracle series gets under my skin in the best way possible. I'm still thinking about the characters in the first book and waiting expectantly for the third!

My Thoughts

I typically steer clear of romance novels, but honestly, this was just plain cute. Heart-warming more than anything. I love the concept that Katie baked pies based some deep seated intuition of what is going to happen in hers or someone else’s life. Gabe is good hearted (and sexy).

This was a quick, light, cozy and fun read. I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone on this one. I would like to read more in the Miracle series.

What a fulfilling book. My heart feels like it is ready to explode. Yet on the other hand, I am craving pie. Katie, Gabe, Rosa, Sam- each character had such a strong, friendly, big personality that made them seem so real. The story of the town Miracle and the magic that resides inside each and everyone that lives or visits is beautiful. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

In Miracle Pie by Edie Ramer, Katie is a baker. Actually she bakes wonderful, magical pies that seem to whisper to her and tell her what to bake, and there is always someone who will need that specific pie.

Gabe is getting by filming weddings and living with someone he is not truly happy with, doing a job that does not fulfill him. When his uncle tells him about two women wanting to film a cooking show pilot and shows Gabe their photos, Gabe is hooked. Somethign about the photo, especially the younger lady, calls to him.

when Gabe and Katie meet, there is magic and passion. But with life's ups and downs, past and present, can there be any future for them? both of them are happy where they are, or they think they are...but will they ever be truly happy apart again?

Edie gives us another magical romance that will fill your heart in Miracle Pie. I love both the main characters, Katie and Gabe. Both of them are searching for something and it just might have found them instead! The struggles they go through at this point in their life are very real...the issues they are dealing with make Katie and Gabe even more realistic. Both Katie and Gabe are people you feel you could meet up with in life, and Miracle is a place I would love to live in!

The secondary characters in Miracle Pie really add a lot of character and fun to the story. From Rosa moving on after leaving her husband and Katie's friend Trish's struggles, you will come to care for them as much as you will care about Katie and Gabe.

Edie manages to weave a little magic into a great romance, just enough to make it all believable. I also love how Edie also has animals in her books! They are a great addition and just as important as teh touches of magic.

Miracle Pie is book 4 in Edie's Miracle Interrupted series, but can definitely be read as a stand alone! I haven't read any of the other books in this series (yet! I have already bought more!), but I have read Edie's two Hearts in Motion books. I highly recommend Edie Ramer's books if you are looking for a love story that will ring true and end with you feeling happy for everyone!

Miracle Pie by Edie Reamer, was an ok romance novel, with a bit of magic.
I have not read the previous books of the series, but it seems that they all have a bit of magic in them, like the little village Miracle is retreat for older fairies, or people with a touch of fairies in them and their descendants have no idea about it.

So there is this girl, Katie who is baking on compulsion besides her every day usual baking of pies, and she has named her compulsion pies by the events that happen after she has made those special pies - Sad Pie, Welcome Home Pie, Goodbye Pie, Happy Pie and so on.

Her best friend declares that that she is leaving her husband, after the scoundrel has get another woman with a baby, and her revenge is to start her cooking show on TV with Katie as her pie cooking sidekick.

To start with the show, they need a pilot and here enters Gabe, the cameraman who has so far being filming weddings, but he is intended to film something bigger and more important. He has spent three years in Africa filming a building a hospidal and this experience changed him.

So when they start this project together nobody expected it to get where it got at the end, like that Katie would discover things about her past that she never knew or thought to find out, and that Gabe would find his mojo again over a long time being just numb to everything around him, and other things that happened in Miracle.

It was an ok story, but it was just not very good story.

Ms. Ramer's novels are always such a pleasure to read, and this one is no exception. She takes a small-town setting and populates it with fascinating, offbeat characters like Nia and Rob, who help each other grow, heal and find new things to live for, in spite of family drama and life's tragedies.

Thrilled to see this latest addition to the Miracle Interrupted series and already looking forward to the next installment!

Miracle Lane by Edie Ramer
Miracle Interrupted Series Book Three
Nia Beaudine is learning about life one day at a time. After an attempted murder, she was left to face life as a newborn. Relearning everything. Only her past is gone as well and something there holds the secrets to her present danger.

Rob Ackerman has his own ghosts. The darkness surrounds him daily as he remembers the war and continues to battle survivor’s guilt. Until the day he meets Nia, suddenly he has a purpose for being alive, to keep her alive.

If you have read this series from the start then you would have met Bast the cat in book one. Must Worship Cats is Bast’s story of searching Miracle for the owner of her choice. And Nia was that special person. Bast isn’t thrilled about having a man intrude in their life, but whatever makes Nia happy, for now.

I really enjoyed this story. There was the mystery of who ran Nia over and why. What her past contained that was dangerous to her. And of course the romance. Looking forward to the rest of the books in this story.

Miracle Pie by Edie Ramer
Miracle Interrupted Series Book Four
Katie Guthrie was happy. She had the “pie magic” and it made others happy. And she had Happy her beagle. What more could she want? When her friend Rosa asks her to do a food show with her, she meets Gabe. He reminds her of a golden angel she knew years ago. Now she knew what was missing in her life. Him.

Gabriel Robbins had been stagnant too long. In his career and in his relationship. He had dreams of using his film making talents. An email from his uncle sent a renewed sense of purpose through. Especially considering the photos of the two women attached to the email.

Gabe finally had his dream in sight, in Chicago. Katie’s life was in the small town of Miracle. Even though they “clicked” there seemed no way for them to have a relationship. They really needed a miracle. For readers like me who get emotional, this book definitely has a tissue alert.

Miracle Lane. Edie Ramer.

I've enjoyed Edie's work before and I love romance so thought I'd try this. It is romance, but in a very different way to the usual type of book. We start where Nia meets Rob, who's posing as his policeman twin brother to keep him out of trouble, and Nia tells him her cat Bast can talk.....OK, very different :) She can tell immediately that its not the policeman twin but Rob, and he's astonished as people are always fooled by the two. They've very close and will do almost anything to help the other.
Robs heard about Nia, the village seem to regard her as different and odd, and after the terrible accident she had, and time in a coma she is a bit odd. But then not having any memory of life before the accident, and her family making it clear they hate her who wouldn't be a bit strange. Bast is definitely the scene stealer of the book – and as a talking cat she's so believable. I just love when she gives Rob the human equivalent of “the finger”!! Parts of the story are told using her voice and she's just perfect.
Rob and Nia form an instant bond, she finds someone with no agenda, and who understands her and he sees a fellow PTSD sufferer. He guesses at what’s behind her trauma, and takes it up with her consultant. He also protects her from her horrible family.
Its a slightly odd book in some ways, very different, and yet easy to read and flow along with. Secrets slowly come out – snippets at first, guesses and putting together of various incidents till it ends in one huge, climatic finale, and the strength of Rob and Nia comes through to help her cope with her past, and forge a way into a new future with Rob.
Stars: well, I really enjoyed it and yet, its not like my usual reads. Still sometimes its good to move outside the comfort zone and this definitely pulled at my emotions. I savoured it as a one off read, it was interesting and unique, but not one I’d keep for re reading. Three and half stars.

Miracle Lane is a short, whimsical and poignant read, part of a series centered around a small town but can be read as a stand alone. Despite the heavy underlying theme, the approach to the romance was quite charming. Nia with her talking cat Bast (Bast can only be understood by her) stands apart from the others in the town of Miracle, Wisconsin. Nearly two years since she was ran over twice, Nia's past memory has been totally erased. As her doctor was fond of repeating she's like a newborn again and she should be approaching life with joy and an inquisitive nature. But Nia is full of fear and distrusts for most everyone. Her only trustworthy friend is Bast, until he came along. Rob has his own underlying dark secret. He survived Afghanistan but like most military vets he has a hard time adjusting to life back home. Survivor's guilt is something he isn't dealing with quite well. When they meet, they shouldn't have clicked but it seems that broken souls heal quite well when together.

So this book is really cute and very quirky what with the talking cat going all Rambo to protect her human. But the approach to the heavy subject matter was quite realistic and goes well with the theme of fresh beginnings. The chemistry between Rob and Nia could be seen as quite quick but I guess it fits the story with the tragedy they've experienced its only apt that they grab for the moment of happiness they've started to know again. All in all it was an enjoyable read.

Miracle Lane is the third in Edie Ramer's Miracle Interrupted series but the first one that I have read. I found Nia's (the heroine) character to be fascinating. A new twist on a character and it worked. I found her appealing, likable, funny, spirited and touching. Rob (the hero) is a damaged man who sees something in Nia that makes life worth living again. I have to say that if this is an example of how the author handles her characters, she displays a real talent for showing readers their scarred souls and making you want a happy ending for them.

I'm rating this one at 3 1/2 stars, almost 4. The only problem I had was that when all the secrets had been revealed, all the ugliness dragged out into the light, the main characters looked at it for all of two seconds and then walked over (and past it) like a wad of chewing gum in the middle of the sidewalk. It seemed to have no effect on them at all. Given everything that had happened I just found that too difficult to swallow.

Still, Nia and Rob make this more then worth the read. If you are tired of the same old characters in every romance, give Miracle Lane a try. Not only will Nia and Rob touch your heart but they will stand out in your memory after you put the book down.

I must say that at first I was torn at how I should rate this book...the beginning was really promising but then the whole story went flat.

It was quite unique to read Nia's POV.. after she was ran over and left to die in the road, she is brain-damaged and can't remember anything of her life before. She is learning how to do things all over again and we get the chance to read how she experience things for the first time.
I liked her character a lot but what did bothered me was the plot, who did this to her and how quickly she let go the turn of events. I didn't get that at all.
Now the romance may have been a bit fast but it was quite lovely to read.

So overall it was an ok read.

Miracle Lane, book three in Edie Ramer's Miracle Interrupted series, is a sweet and quirky read.
Miracle Lane is about Nia, a young woman who loses her memory after her "accident" which was really an attempt to kill her. Three months later she wakes up from a coma and cannot remember her life before the coma.
I found Nia to be fairly appealing and gutsy, funny, and extremely likable.
She is paired with Rob, a damaged soul that sees something worth fighting for again in Nia.
The two work together to unfold the mystery of who Nia was before and why someone was trying to kill her.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.

The book never really delved about the past for the 2 main characters just a brief foray into their encounter from the past. While I like the idea of these 2 artists using their craft to experience the world, there was too much world that came into the story. It seemed their affair happened in the periphery of other events. There were too many extraneous characters that kind of dropped in from out of the blue. Though that might not be the case for readers that followed the series, it is confusing to someone who picks it up without any "preparation".

This is book four in a series, but it stands on its own very well. Ms. Ramer’s village of Miracle, Wisconsin will feel like home in no time. With a nod towards Ms. Ramer’s dedication towards fighting cancer, she emphasizes that there is something each of us can do to make those in the fight feel important, special, and loved.

In my humble opinion, this is a sweet, feel-good story and I enjoyed it very much. Though there are patches that are a bit difficult to read due to grammatical or editing errors, I look forward to reading more from Ms. Ramer.

What a great afternoon's read. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from Edie Ramer. It is part of a series which I have never read, but I didn't feel lost or cheated. In this twist on quirky characters, the female lead is the one who is strong, funny, outspoken, adventurous and the male lead is damaged. Well, I suppose if one is suffering from amnesia and the only thing for sure is that someone tried to kill you, you might as well be bold! I enjoyed being a passenger on their journey from darkness to light.

Thank god this was free because seriously the only interesting part of this book was a talking cat, and I was still on the fence with that one. If this book maybe would get to the point I might have kept reading. I was so confused about what was going on in the story I just gave up. Dont waste your time!

Someone in the family want Nia dead. She has brain injuries and with the help of her cat, Bast, she starts living a new life , her past a blank slate. Returning soldier, Rob, meets her and decides she needs help, because someone is still trying to kill her. As the book progresses, this unusual trio learn about Nia's past and what terrible secret someone is trying to keep quite.

Enjoyable story with damaged but likeable lead characters. I like how they were both damaged in some way - Nia from her brain injury and Rob from his PTS and survivor guilt from the war yet together they were able to help one another move forward and embrace life.
