"Classic FM One Hundred Favourite Poems" is a rich and varied treasury which includes not only the famous, best-loved poems you would expect to find - and all the famous poets - but also some wonderful, less well-known works. This is a selection that will enthrall, move and delight, whether the poems are familiar or being read for the first time.
I'm afraid I raced through the last 12 poets, including Shakespeare, Tennyson and Wordsworth. Some of my favourite poems were in this section, some not so good ones and some I had never read before. Overall, the book contains a good selection of poems, with a wide variety of poets and subjects covered. I have a few other poetry compilations to get through, and wonder how different their 100 favourites will be?
Alongside the well known I am discovering some new things for myself too. They say don't judge a book by its cover, but this book is exactly what it says on the front cover. It is a collection of some of the best poems ever written. Some of them you will have heard of, some of them you will have read or heard read before, and some of them will be ne to you. This is a good book to have by your bed, to dip into before bedtime.
This is a nice collection of works from poets such as Kipling, Yeats, Wordsworth, Keats, Shakespeare and Tennison. "If" by Kipling being one of my favorites.
