will reserve my rating for after I've tried some recipes. Weird to 'read' a cookbook, but it was interesting to think about life on the frontier and the self-sufficiency of people back then. There was also a lot about living in community, and of course, the famous Shaker belief in doing whatevver they did to perfection. Nice find in a Habitat thrift store!
maybe it's weird to "read" a cookbook and an old one at that (circa 1953) but it was interesting for the history included. i found a few recipes that i would like to try out (lemon meringue pie, biscuits) so there's that.
