A young woman cannot bear to endure the limits on her life in Communist Czechoslovakia. She is young and idealistic. Her passion for travel and adventure take her to a refugee camp in Austria where she waits for 2 years before she is accepted to immigrate to the United States. Most of the story takes place at the camp. You overhear conversations of other Czech & Slovak immigrants. You experience the good, the bad, and the ugly side of "freedom." A quick and facinating read.
