Picture a war love story and this one hit home for me. I really liked the characters of Juliette and Thomas. Juliette is a smart and matured girl who works at a museum. She meets Thomas while he is visiting Birmingham with his father and they both believe that it was love at first sight. Thomas is a fine gentleman who hopes to marry Juliette one day. Juliette is 18 years old when she meets Thomas who is also 18 years old. Since he lives in Florida and she lives in Birmingham, they communicate through letters. When Juliette hears that Thomas is being drafted to go to the war, she visits him and asks him to marry her. He refuses because his fate is uncertain and he doesn’t want her to be a war widow. Their patience is tested, but hope prevails. Their love is so strong that it is truly what binds them together. Amazing book.

I thought that this was a great book. I believe in love at first sight and love reading stories about it and the fact that the this couple money didn't matter.
