For centuries, Christians have marveled at the reality of God s healing power and divine miracles wrought through the hands of men and women who have dedicated their lives to Him. From the early Church to the twentieth century, people have flocked to these ministers in a desperate search for healing and understanding of the power of God. One such minister, known for his great boldness, was John G. Lake. He brought an air of intrigue, faith, and encouragement to hundreds of thousands of believers in the United States and abroad. Born in 1870 in Ontario, Canada, John G. Lake fought hard to survive a sorrowful childhood and make a material success of his life. Then, at the age of 37, he gave up all he had some report he gave up millions to seek God s divine purpose in his life. Within a year, Lake and his family ventured to Africa, bringing a storm of God's supernatural healing power. After five years, he left the African ministry he began, leaving a heritage of more than 1,000 preachers, 100,000 converts and countless miracles. He then returned to the state of Washington with a stronger faith in Christ and mightier anointing of God's healing power. Shortly thereafter, Lake's Divine Healing Institute made Spokane, Washington as documented by the United States Government ...the healthiest city in the world... This book, which tells Lak' s life story through an authorized biography and his sermons, show you perhaps more than any other how bold faith like John G. Lake's can come alive in any believer who will receive. Included in this unabridged and unaltered -44 classic and timeless sermons of John G. Lake, 27 never before published -John G. Lake's stirring, fully authorized biography -Powerful poems given to John G. Lake by the Holy Spirit -Original radio sermons by John G. Lake -Many historical photos -Foreword by Gloria Copeland
This book and it's testimonials are very inspiring for those crying out for more healing in their lives. This was required reading for Bethel's School of Supernatural Ministry - before starting year two.
A good compilation of biography, teachings and reports of God's work in and through this great man of God. His encounters with God and his teachings are totally validated by the documented results that God was able to do through him. It is a very challenging book, but those willing to surrender to God in the way that he did will make a real difference to the world. Not for the fainthearted who may want Christianity on their own terms rather than God's.
This was a book a read at missionary school...Lake was a great missionary in Africa and there are many stories of the miracles that happened there and in the US when he returned. I still pull it out time and again and read the sermons that were transcribed...very inspirational! I definitely recommend all to read this book!! :D
Not completely accurate on the details of his life. Since reading this book, I have learned that many historians trying to document his life have found that he lied or at least misled others. Details that are not included in this work.
Ill take my Bible and possible this book to the grave. The testimonies s t r e t c h my faith and cause me to reconsider everything I believe about God's will for our lives.
Made me take a look at the limitations I have placed on God in me. For those who are serious about intimacy in the Spirit and their purpose in this world.
Took me a while to read this book. Great look at one of the Great Faith Healers that is overlooked in the Word of Faith and other church movements in the 20th Century.
Might be the best thing I've ever read! So inspiring! The testimonies in this book will forever prophesy into my life! Read it!! It's life changing. Nothing is impossible
The book had a positive effect on me on my path to Faith City in 2001 The effect has not left ever since. I have evolved and now I am ready to read the book again.
John Lake was an Apostle to Africa and a man of many miracles. His knowledge of God and incredible insight into divine healing is amazing. He is a preacher of victory, faith and complete dedication to the Lord. I recommend him to anyone who is hungering for God; but he is not for the faint of heart or for those who want to make excuses for Christian failure!
Excellent book explaining the life, times, struggles and spiritual growth of the blessed evangelist in late 1800's and early 1900's. I talks about his U.S.A. ministry as well as his expansion over into Africa. How the Lord took him and molded him and gave him amazing and wondrous gifts of the Holy Spirit to help and heal people in his created church.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! I adored this book. Originally intimidated by the 550 pages, I would highly recommend this book to anyone and it actually makes for an amazing devotional!
Kenneth Copeland does a great job at providing a detailed biography of this great man of God. Reading this book will inspire any one called God to do more in their faith....
A reminder that the Gospel has power, not just in the spiritual realm but also in the physical. Jesus died and rose again to redeem our whole body, soul and spirit!
