Love the way this books focus is on the Holy Spirit. As Christians I don't feel that we talk e tough Bout Him and the gifts of the Spirit.
I loved hearing the story of the beginning .of Calvary Chapel and the Jesus movement in the 60's in California.

This is a practical guide to use during bible study. An in-depth look about the Holy Spirit.
I downloaded this book to further my growth and found it a reliable source.
Through the included scriptures, the author helped me to understand the Holy Spirit, and its part within the Deity.
It's divided into easy reachable chapters where each part of the Holy Spirit is described with clarity and detail.
Once you understand the Holy Spirit's part, it's easy to understand how much I need him in my daily life.
"For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. - II Thessalonians 2:7 We live in difficult days. But according to Scripture, it will get worse before it gets better. The apostle Paul sounded this ominous warning almost 2000 years ago. He revealed that a day was coming when evil would run rampant across the face of the earth. Mankind would rebel against God in a way unparalleled since time began, swiftly bringing on itself fearsome plagues and terrors that would signal the end of this world system. Even in his own day, Paul could see the signs of the coming destruction. He wrote, "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work" (II Thessalonians 2:7). Today this "mystery of lawlessness" is not hard to detect. We see the decaying effect of sin everywhere. The spirit of the Antichrist surrounds us. Jesus Christ is being mocked, scorned, ridiculed, and derided."
Mr Smith is straightforward with a clear understanding of the subject and talks with authority.
This is a must read for all Christian that wants to know more and grow within their own walk. It gives you clear guidelines and is built on a solid foundation.

Ch. 17 on the spiritual gift of "helps" was particularly moving to me - that Paul describes himself essentially as a galley slave when speaking before Agrippa put "minister" and "ministry" into a whole different context
I found the organization of the book to be a little confusing/haphazard, but there were some profound truths and insights - especially with regards to a few of the gifts, including interpretation - that I never previously read or considered.

Powerful and clear explanation of the gift of the Holy Spirit
I believe this better than any other book I have read on the subject, clearing explains the gift of the Holy Spirit using scriptures to substantiate his teaching on the subject. It also effectively debunks the false teachings in regards to the gift given to believers.

Thorough, complete description of the gifts, what "batism of the Spirit " means, fruits and what to do. Convicting and encouraging to a better walk in this life on earth for the glory of God.
