Dissapointed
I have read every book that Paige Dearth has written. Each one of the blew me away! I couldn’t wait to read the next page. This book I know was to tie things together but it was so slow, corny and uneventful until the last 100 pages of an over 500 page book. Then it was nothing like she has written in the past as far as “Shocking”. I will still continue to read her books as new ones come out. She is still one of my favorite Authors.

Not quite how I was hoping this story would play out. I was hoping Dakota would find true love, get her daughter back, and live a stable, safe life like Rainey. Instead, Dakota just kept losing everyone in her life and ended up living with some guy friend whom we didn't really know much about. Her story kind of ended abruptly.
I did enjoy Henry's slow, annoying death, that's for sure... he deserved everything he got!
What is Raineys' deal with not marrying Sam?? She's not going to find a better man then him! She kind of annoys me.

Perfect ending

It was great! I am so glad I read all 4 books to finish out this series! Very well written. It was drug out a little but all in all would 10/10 recommend this series.

Wow!
If you haven't read The Rainey Paxton series, you need to. What a Rollercoaster the whole series was. This was the saddest book in my opinion. I felt so bad for Rainey and Dakota. My favorite part of this book was Henry getting what he deserved. What a sick man. I'm sad the journey with Rainey is done but I will definitely be reading everything, Paige Dearth has written.

Absolutely stunning, beautiful story weaving, and incredibly difficult to read and even harder to put down. Paige Dearth does it again with her Fiction With Meaning. Making the best out of her childhood and imagination, Dearth makes you feel all of the horrors and sadness and hope and longing and desperation and despair and happiness that her characters go through. You’ll have tears running down your face while you smile like you’ve never smiled before and feel the tension and tightness in your chest as you journey with Dakota, Rainey and Winnie through the next chapters of their lives. 18+ for multiple reasons but overall absolutely stunning.

A must read
This author opens up a view of poverty that most people does not know existed or would not like to think about. Drug addiction, sex abuse, child abuse and human trafficking and murder. But in all this she shows what true love in not just man and wife but non blood family. Women that join a unbreakable bond even after death. I love this story and this series and I have read everyone of her books. I highly recommend you read them too.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

If you have kindle unlimited, READ THIS SERIES! It’s sad, heartbreaking, empowering, and just all consuming. If you’re into more of a thriller, suspense, and what the heck book, this series is just WOW! I don’t really throw books on here often. But my goodness! It was so hard to put down!

But page turner, nail bitter, and just ugh so good! Your entire heart and soul goes out to this entire series!

PHENOMENAL STORY😂
This story was just WOW, WOW!!!!. That B_stard, FINALLY got his!!!. After All the loss that these young women suffered through he got his😂😁. There are some STRONG women in this story and are just as beautiful on the inside!!!. I had to take several, several, breaks reading this story, it was so moving, sad, exciting, entertaining and again just WOW!!!. Thank You🙏 Paige for these stories and for your PHENOMENAL storytelling and writing😘🤗.

Paige Dearth, please never stop writing. I have now read every book Paige Dearth has published. Every story leaves me ugly crying and way too emotionally attached to the characters. The content in the books can be hard to get through at times, but the awareness that she brings to the many forms of abuse is so important.

excellent series
I’m so sad I’m finished the last book in this series. I loved reading about Rainey and all the strong courageous women in this series. Paige Dearth is an amazing author. I stumbled upon her and haven’t stopped reading since I found her. Her books have blown me away.

Loved yet another of Paige Dearth sequel this was another 5 star winner emotions all over the place happy sad and satisfied with the ending. Such a great series loved all 4 of Rainey Paxton storyline.

The first half of this book was filled with a lot of repetitive dialogue. Then, 50% into the story is where it starts to get a little interesting but quickly dies down with more repeat conversations which I found myself skimming through at times. I feel like 40% of this book was a lot of unnecessary info, boring chapters and story retelling, without this stuff the book could have been shortened and would have made for a more enjoyable read. 80% is when things really speed up and start to get exciting. Everything that happened in the last 20% of the book should have been stretched out instead of the other redundant stuff.
I didn’t care for Dakota’s character at all, I couldn’t find a connection with her like I did with all of the other characters in Paige’s books. I feel like she played the role of a terrified kitten. Yes, I know she was held captive and tortured and I feel terrible for her, but come on, get a taser, learn a martial art, get a gun - do something!! The part where I just couldn’t handle her anymore was when -

she drove off after Finn got stabbed, I know she was in shock but I would have loved to see more fire in her belly, I wanted to see her scream and run at Henry and gouge his mother fuc#ing eyes out!! Oh and that brings me to another thing - Henry, the over use of his name was seriously annoying, it felt like they were just talking about a regular guy and not a serial killer.
Overall I found it super corny and unrealistic.
I wish Dakota was the one to punish Henry, Rainey really stole her spotlight there but then again, Dakota never really had a spotlight, she just kind of blended in with everyone else. I really don’t know what happened here but this story was nothing like the rest of Paige’s brilliant masterpieces. But I still liked the book, it was good and I really wanted to know what happened in the end.

Tbh I spent a long time going over what to rate this book, I wanted to give it one star like I did with a previous book I read of hers - believe like a child, I was so angry & heartbroken when I finished it that I lashed out & gave one star & said I would never again read another one of her books. But I had read 1 & 2 of Raineys story before I read that one & now a few years later saw the last 2 books in the series came out & I wanted to finish it. I wish I hadnt. I'm rating it 4 stars because it's a good book & I got through it in one day, it's 5:06 am now, I stayed up all night reading it, but I will not be reading her books ever again. I hate to say it, but I feel like she gets off on torturing her fmc's. She makes u fall in love with them & then makes them suffer in every way imaginable & trust me there are no HEA's in her books. I can't do it. I read dark stuff. I read Manacled ffs (iykyk). But this is too much. I could even deal with it all if at the end there was some happiness, or a reason for it all. & Some may think Rainy & Dakota got that at the end. But they didn't, not really. A part of me is glad I got to read Rainey's story & there's a part at the end that was very gratifying (you'll know when you read it what I'm talking about) but ya I won't read anymore of her books. Reading about pain, torturing & suffering for absolutely nothing (like Believe Like A Child, especially) is just not it for me. & Just like when I finished that book I'm as heartbroken now as I was then.
