Surprisingly readable for a 40-year-old technical manual - covers everything you might want to know (and quite a bit you might not) clearly and with occasional humour.

My 1st book on programming. Read in Xerox copy in 1989... Thanks, Mr. Vickers, for this life-time inspiration in my profession :) .
