Sara Humphreys‘ Street Team Smarts is a wonderful guide to expansive promotion. Leveraging connections in far off places to get the word out about your book.

In this book, Sara talks about how to put out the call to your supporters and give them focused promotional tasks that spread the word about your book without imposing too much on them.

She talks about the importance of creating a cohesive group and making sure to give them a unique and thoughtful reward for their support.

This book is a very basic introduction to author street teams, mainly focusing on street teams for the purposes of offline promotion. If you have absolutely no knowledge of what a street team is, this might be helpful for you.

A Powerhouse of a Guide!

Short and sweet, Ms. Humphreys cracks wise in delivering her own experiences and tying them together with actionable ideas for any author to create their own street team.

As a publicist of fiction authors I have recommended this quick read to all of my clients.

This was ok but it took half the pages before she got around to talking about what a street team was. It would have been better if she'd talked to other people who used street teams and had added their pro's and con's into the pamphlet. Also it is really only useful for the US market as much of it wouldn't translate to the UK.

This would be a great resource for any author who is not familiar with street teams or even researched them on the internet. A great launching point to get an idea of what they are and how to best use them to suit your needs.
For anyone who has done research already and has and idea of the workings of a street team this was a "refresher course".

Excellent and concise

I've always heard about street teams but never knew how to form one or what to do with one. Based on the "it takes a village" approach" to marketing, it makes sense. I'm going to use this guide to try to build one. Clear, concise and excellent.

Wanted more

This is a good little guide, but I had hoped for more. Maybe something about her experiences - the results, whatever. Just more. This was more like a guide than a book..
