Well, it was at least better than book 2. It was nothing special. Fairly enjoyable, and it concluded everything off fine. But nothing more than that.

In the last book of "The Forsaken" series, The Defiant is an action-packed story as you follow Alenna as she, and her friends, rise up to defeat the UNA. You follow Alenna, Liam, and Gadya as they go back to the UNA, and start a long mission to defeat the corrupt leaders and make UNA a good place again. You go through a fairly large plot twist and a lot of your favorite characters die in the name of rebellion.

I really liked this book. Much more than the second one. I like how Alenna has to be sp

It was the final book out a series. This book left me with a satisfied feeling but wasn't happy on how manny character died just because the author only wanted the main three characters to live. This book is extremely fantasy and sic-fi like because of all the high tech machinery that is used to drug rebels like Alenna, Gadya, and Liam, to follow the scientists' orders. It finally had a oaky ending unlike the other two books leaving a negative feeling. This book was jumping around and had the oc ...more

I thought this ended great. A lot going on for my attention span. Here’s the things that stood out to me:

*I’m thinking Liam is made of lead because everyone he hits, they’re knocked out cold. lol
*UNA were creating scarier things
*Woah David, my have you changed
*Gadya is a ruthless badass
*Alenna and Liam’s was romance in the background except for when they were separated.. Then that was all Alenna was thinking about
*The ultimate betrayal. That weasel
*That epic showdown at the end
*The very end (epi

A thrilling conclusion to the series!! I was crushed when Cass died as she was one of my favourites. And I never saw the plot twist about David coming. As the saying goes, you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian. This book gave me the closure that I needed, and I'm so attached to Alenna and Gadya. Would re-read over and over again and The Forsaken has been by far, my favourite series of all time.

A wonderful exciting finale to an epic dystopia series, The Defiant takes us to places the series hasn’t been before, both literally and figuratively. Alenna, Liema and Gadya and other rebels travel to the UNA to lead the rebellion into overthrowing the government. It doesn’t go how they expect it. Alenna is taken to see David and he give her a task to infiltrate a work camp that Liam is at, but she is captured and put in a home at the Hellgrounds. Alenna must save Liam, and cause rebels to ris ...more

The Defiant was without a doubt my favorite book of the series. Not because it was the end and we finally get to see how everything plays out, but because Lisa really takes things to the next level with this book. Anyone familiar with this series knows it is packed with action and has a lot of very intense and suspenseful moments. All of those moments combined really don’t come close to what you see in this final installment. I know everything leading up to this book and the events inside are cu ...more

This review is a little late, so everything I'm saying is based more from my notes than it is from what I remembered (although it's only been a few days, so I haven't forgotten everything yet).

As far as dystopians go, I always thought this series was pretty typical. Standard. Run of the mill. I liked it, but it didn't stand out to me. But I liked it. Let me illustrate the typical-ness of the series. First book: All kids age 16 must take a government test (in this case, the GPPT, though I can't r

This has to be without a doubt my favorite book in the series. The first one, I loved the plotline, but I hated the romance. The second one, the plot was good and the romance had gotten a bit better. Lisa M. Stasse finally got the ratios right this time with the third one because, oh my god, I was so obsessed with this. I seriously could write a review for this that just consists of me vomiting out rainbows. ‘The Defiant’ was everything I thought a final book in a trilogy should be. It was liter ...more

Okay. THIS is what I was hoping for when I read the first book. This totally makes up for the second book.

It feels like everything happened really fast in this book. One minute, they're just planning on overthrowing the UNA, the next minute, everything is in chaos and we're actually right in the middle of things. It was CRAZY!

I really enjoyed it though. I just wish the pacing was better. Like, I would've liked more time on the farm with that lady and her pervy son. They make it sound like Alenna

I’ve been searching for a long time to read this book. I started reading the series, The Forsaken, while working at the bookstore and I had quit before this book made its way to our store. (It’s a small store.)

So when I found out that I could listen to it via Audible and that I was going on a road trip that was going to last several days, I downloaded it immediately.

It was quite interesting to listen to. I knew without a doubt that The Defiant was going to be

Overall the book Defiant was great, it's a book that you cannot put down once you start reading it. Defiant is about the loyalty that Alenna has to her group. Once a crime is committed in the UNA(United Northern America) you are sent to a secluded island. The people that live on the island call themselves the "rebels". Once on the island you spend your time training and trying to figure out away to fight the UNA. Alenna gets out, along with her other friends and is on a mission to fight and take ...more

This book honestly took me longer to read than it should have but I'm preparing for my first year of college (oh goodness).

This series was not bad but it wasn't overly great. It was unique and it was unoriginal at the same time. I guess there wasn't much wrong with it, and the plot was set up nicely but it wasn't fantastic.

At first, Alenna's naivety bothered me, but I realized that it was intentional. It was her fatal flaw, and I grew to appreciate the fact that our main charact

I'm finally finished with this book, and it took forever to get through it. This series started with a great concept, and I enjoyed the first book, but after that things began to fall apart. The characters were never really strong to begin with, which was a major problem for me, but it was a very plot driven series, so it was okay.

The plot kind of started falling apart in book two and continued to fall apart in this book. This book was just lacking in so many areas, and I felt that the plot was

I am both happy and sad to read the final book in the Forsaken series. I am happy that I got an Epilogue to find out what happened after the final battle, but sad that this book was not as great as the first two. There were quite a few moments in The Defiant where I thought, maybe if we stay on this track and work with this, it could be great. Sadly, a lot of it felt rushed

More of the same in The Defiant. The reason I read this final novel is basically because I hate to leave things unfinished. And also there's usually a small part of me that wants to know what happens to these characters, if that's what you can call them. Especially Alenna, who seemed to have no real voice of her own in her narration. I never once got a true sense that she really felt anything or had any true individual traits of her own. Its like she's nothing but a blank slate that the reader c ...more

As the wise YouTuber CassJayTuck once said, "Let us mourn the death of yet another amazing YA series." And that was what this was. The Defiant was everything I expected and wanted it to be, with the exception of the ending. Although the book was a bit over packed with battles, the action was suspenseful and kept me reading until the wee hours of the night. The ending, as I mentioned before, was the one thing that I would have tweaked. The end was so abrupt that it felt forced. Yes, I understand ...more
