Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half-Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseido

Well, well, after a year of waiting after the drastic events of Of Poseidon, we finally get to Of Triton.

And I'm actually kind of disappointed.

This book is waaaay short. (Terrible grammar use right there.) I'm not kidding, I sat down and what felt like 15 minutes to me (or really half and hour to 45 minutes ish) and I was halfway through. LIKE I NEED MORE MORE MORE MORE MORE.

Warning: May contain spoilers for book one

This book takes up a few hours after Of Poseidon left off. Galen goes to fetch Grom, and Emma's mom knocks both Emma and Rayna out with chloroform and kidnaps Emma away. Turns out she's convinced she killed Grom in the mine explosion and this whole thing has been one elaborate set up to arrest her. Yeah, if I didn't already think her mother was nuts (who asks her daughter's new boyfriend why he doesn't want to bang her daughter?), this would have fully c

Like, ohmysweetgoodness! I seriously do not have any idea how I am going to wait this long for this book. I mean, I think I freaked out for about 10-15 minutes after I finished the first book!

After Reading:

Okay.... This book was--Amazing!
I loved it.
Just like I loved the first one.
It was a great way to continue where we left off in the first book, with that crazy cliffhanger.
And even though this book wasn't as long as the first one, it was still just as good. A

Thank you Hardie Grant Egmont Australia for sending me this copy. No compensation was given or taken to alter this review.

“I wonder how many tears the ocean has swallowed, how much of the ocean is actually made of tears.”

In a sense, this book is ideal for me to read at this point of the year. The reason behind this random proclamation unpretentiously is because I wanted to see how I have changed as a reader ever since I began to review books. And coincident

Honestly, I have nothing more to say about Of Triton. I only read this because somebody was a huge fan of Anna Banks and the first one, Of Poseidon, and if you read that, you'd know it ends on a huge cliffhanger (view spoiler).

Interesting setup for a sequel, right? Nope, because THE WHOLE REASON IS SO CONTRIVED AND STUPID AN

I was dying to know WHY Emma's mom is on the run, hiding on land since World War II . And guess what?

IT IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST STUPID LAMEST REASON EVER.

The whole story line is weak, there's no substance and supposedly 100-300 years old Syrena are all acting like some childish brainless teenagers.

At the tribunal, all their arguments are so damn funny because it was SOOOOO immature. Seriously , Syrena needs lawyers from land. Or go study 3-4 years of law and earn a law degree, and be a hot sh

Of Triton was pretty good. I guess it helps going into a book with zero expectations. I just hate being disappointed by books. However, I wasn't really disappointed in this one.

So this is the second book in this series and thank god it didn't fall into the second book kind of slump. I just love Emma and Galen's relationship but other than that I really like Toraf and Rayan's too. Now this was fun to see Grom and Nalia's relationship because I almost forgot about them sort of being a couple since

This is the "tale" of Emma, a high school senior, who learns that she is half Syrena (it's a mermaid/merman, but don't say that to their face) after meeting Galen, a gorgeous Syrena prince, who is allowed to visit land in order to study humans. Emma literally bumped into Galen on a beach in Florida where she and her best friend were v

Of Triton was an awesome addition to this series. It was fun and totally kept the wonderful pacing that its predecessor Of Poseidon delivered.

This sequel takes place right where Of Poseidon left off. Nalia, Emmas mom, is on the run thinking that Galen is trying to arrest her for killing his brother Grom. When Grom and Nalia come face to face for the first time in many many years their love is instantly rekindled. This isn't all fun and games though, Grom is already mated and with Emma being a Ha

Holding a grudge is like swallowing poison and hoping the other person dies

Of Triton deserves a different kind of 3 stars than Of Poseidon. On the one hand, the misogyny is toned down as is Galen’s temper, both of these which were the main problem I had with book one. On the other hand though, all the laughs I got from Of Poseidon were gone. I suppose this is typical though of a second book where the tone sombers down (I made that phrase up on the spot) and the characters are out of the “honeymo

I don't think I have any feelings regarding the sequel to Of Poseidon.

First of all, this book did not please me at all. I was bored to tears while reading this book and I can't help but compare this book to the previous one. The alternating POVs wasn't also doing this book any favor. The humor which I came to love, was lost !!! How can that be! I was expecting to laugh out loud halfway through the

This book has so much drama!
It was so much fun though. I thoroughly enjoyed this continuation of the series. I especially liked all of the developments in the plot and the twists! I can't wait for Of Neptune.

İlkini daha çok beğenmiştim ben.Başka kitaplarda kıyaslandığından çoğundan iyiydi ama kendi içerisinde kıyaslardam ilki hala favorim.Bütün olaylar bir sonuca kavuştu sayfa sayısı az olduğu için biraz fazlaca hızlı oldu hatta.Yazar üçüncü kitapta ne işleyecek diye düşünürken bir baktım bizim Galen'e rakip geliyor.Reed bakalım hikayeye nasıl bir ivme kazandıracak.

PROS:
Entertaining. I was never bored. Sometimes I'm grinning like crazy, sometimes I'm worried, sometimes I want to roll my eyes due to so much cheesiness.

MCs are clever. I hate hate hate protagonists who are dumb, like everything is so obvious to everybody but the protagonist has no clue what's going on. Really?

Emma is not a damsel in distress. She's freaking smart and brave and doesn't depend on a guy to save her.
Plot twists. They keep the story exciting.
Not typical. Even though it's a mermaid

I'm not sure I liked this book very much. Almost nothing happened. I'm both sad that it was so short and happy that it was so short.

The writing bothered me a lot. It may be because I've read so many books with such great writing recently that it makes this one laughable. And the writing isn't nearly as bad as Emma: she's immature she was at times. And she would call herself out on it and yet still act childish. I got over her quickly.

Some parts were good and had me glued to the page and other

Fantastic! The only reason I'm not giving this book 5 stars like book one is because this felt like more of a finalization of the ideas in book one, more of a tie together. It finished the plot points of the first book up, but it didn't really open any new ones, and the ending wasn't a cliffhanger at all. However, it was in most ways just as enjoyable as the first - lots of plot twists, I still love the characters, and we got to learn more about the interesting mythology!

WHY WAS THIS SEQUEL SO BAD??? I rated the first book, Of Poseidon, 5/5 stars!

:(

The writing started off really well, and then all of a sudden it turned to shit.

Nalia, Emma's mother, is the worst. She is poorly written and disturbing. A bit too much like Tris in Insurgent; infuriating.

Quotes I liked:

2.5 stars. This felt like a filler book. To plug some holes in the plotline before finishing this story. I really dont understand why this could not have been added to either book 1 or book 3. I will finish the series but this book was a bit of a downer.

I do still like most of the characters and the story setting though, so not all of it was bad.

So much ridiculousness in this book - I don't even know where to begin.

Emma is a teenager and in high school. She goes to class once randomly in the middle of the book. Then at the end she goes to prom. The entire rest of the book she's missing school and it's NEVER MENTIONED. Like... if prom was so important, you'd think she would talk about it. Or think about it. Or something. You'd also think the school would be making a big deal out of the fact that she's NEVER THERE.
