The Everyday Genius is a great resource book for teachers to get ideas to use in the classroom. Written in the 1980s, in refers to a new idea of Integrative Learning (not Integrated Learning). In today's terminology, I see it as Personalized Learning, in a sense. It is focusing on teaching students with their interests in mind and then incorporating what they "need" to learn, standards-wise. It can be done, we do it! Many ideas, many reasons for implementing this approach.

One of my favorite books to help me remember that real learning is fun and happens everyday. I've read it 5 times in the past 15 years, each time highlighting it with a different color and gaining new insights. I recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy learning.
