This postmodern picture book is an interactive twist to the original story of The Three Little Pigs. The story introduces the big bad wolf through a “lift-the-flap” interactive reading. The story’s colorful and humorous characters respond to a repeated question “Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?” The simple text that is consistently found at the bottom of the pages is enhanced through character dialogues found in conversation bubbles throughout the story. The plot of this postmodern book follows the original plot except for the pigs are not eaten. The lift-the-flap- interaction gives the reader a sense of suspense as they lift-the-flap to find the poor unfortunate characters that are hiding from the big bad wolf in terror. In the end, we see that all the animals of the forest find peace when the Big Bad Wolf burns his keester on a boiling pot of water as expected. They proceed to have a party with the wolf looking in with a miserable expression.
