Began this morning - this is a small volume, with short pieces based on the idea of daily resurrection, or "rising up". So far I am enjoying them - they are simple, thoughtful, and positive, but not saccharine, twee, or ascetic.

Finished - as mentioned, a very short volume. It would be best read as a page-per-day (or longer) book: reading pages back-to-back tends to dilute the message and rush it. I would have enjoyed more photos of the monastery and/or details of the monk's lives along with the daily thoughts. The generic "peaceful nature scene" shots started to bother me due to their bland and could-be-anywhere, could-be-any-book nature.

I did appreciate the message(s). This book is not just for Orthodox Christians, or Christians in general, but could be helpful for anyone living in a modern, urban environment.
