Okay, okay, I get it. Pantone created a set of standardized colors so that designers can make sure that colors are "correct" across several platforms; in print, in photographs, on billboards, online, etc.
What interests me is how craftspeople are starting to use these color charts in designing their work. As a fine artist, I was trained to see color, identify it in a certain way, and recreate it in paint or dyes. In using this color chart as a way to design, craftspeople are then restricting themselves to the colors as they are, and may find a hard time "finding" just the right color in a certain media to complete their work.
