As elegant as his bestselling How to Know God and as practical as his phenomenal The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, this groundbreaking new book from Deepak Chopra contains a dramatic premise: Not only are everyday coincidences meaningful, they actually provide us with glimpses of the field of infinite possibilities that lies at the heart of all things. By gaining access ...more

I LOVE this book!!! I can not say enough about the power of deliberate intention and creation and the way that Chopra approaches and "teaches" the reader to hone the inherent abilities we already have to do this. The book focuses on our thoughts and how they create our reality. It encourages meditation as a way to quiet the mind from the day to day rush rush rush and the tendency of human nature to let negative thoughts creep in and take hold. Thoughts attract matching thoughts, so meditating qu ...more

Chopra speaks of 'miracles'. What he means by miracles is not mentioned. He knows he is speaking to an audience who want to generate miracles. He will show us how to get them. This is pure hype.

A 'miracle' refers to an event that happens, not by natural cause, but by divine intervention. A welcome event. God produces them. Chopra offers to show us how to manipulate God; "how to tap into …(these) posssibilities so that we can … improve our lives materially, emotionally, physically and spiritually

Recently I have had so many strange things happen to me that I had to find a book help me understand it. A person from my past and I, who, well, let's just say she's my nemesis (ha), actually painted something very similar. She saw a photo of it online and accused me of copying although I didn't! A friend of mine named Jacqui watched the same indie movie as me at the same exact time and went online to talk about it at the same time as me. Then, the next week I randomly decided to call her...turn ...more

- Great concepts you can integrate immediately into everyday life & improve your life.
- But beware, these concepts are only useful if you're spiritually open and ready for change. Otherwise, it will just read like a bunch of "fluff" and "gibberish".
- But what Chopra says is not anything new the Masters haven't already been telling us for thousands of years. It is just a good reminder and he puts it in very simple and easy to understand terms.
- Chopra is especially good at integrating complex

This book gets as much as 2 stars because the first 1/3 of the book describes some early experiments in quantum physics that are easy to understand for someone who doesn't know anything about quantum physics. However, if you do know something on the subject I am sure you will be severly underimpressed by this book. The rest of the book (or as much of it that I could stand to read) gives some hokey suggestions on how to "fulfill your desire" such as painting a picture of what you desire and creat ...more
Even those familiar with Chopra and Vedanta will want to experience the words of this book repeatedly.

Some notes :
"By nature, the non-local mind connects all things because it is all things. ... It is whole unto itself and therefore attracts love and acceptance. It allows us to imagine beyond the boundaries of what the local mind sees as possible : to think outside the box and believe in miracles."

"Getting drunk is a way of disconnecting. The nonlocal eye lets the local eye kn

As usual, Deepak has enlightened us with his wisdom and easy-to-read language in this fascinating book. I love reading his work because it makes so much sense, without having to stretch my imagination. He lays out clearly how the universe works in our lives, and how to harness its power through aligning ourselves with its principles. It is very easy reading and very fulfilling information.

Enjoyed this book very much. A much needed guide book for me as I head into the 2nd half of my life (I'm 46 years old). I've learned some things from Deepak's other books that are helpful too. I need to do this so I can get the fulfillment I really want in my life. I've depended too much on outer things, instead of inside things.

I agree with a lot said on synchronicity, but I don't believe it's as easy to fulfill your desires as this book makes it sound.

This book will either irritate you or inspire you. It's the second time I've read the book cover to cover (first time was 5-6 years ago I think) so you know where I fall. Some of the instructions and exercises included in the book made me roll my eyes, but the overall concepts are very far afield from what you would find in any other self-help book. If you are able to suspend your logical mind for a period while reading, you perhaps will, as I, see that there is more to life than you think. I of ...more

This is probably my least favorite book I've read by Deepak thus far. A lot of his writing is really repetitive. The connections to science are always the coolest part. I've definitely experienced the spontaneous fulfillment of desire in my life. Right now all I'd really like is a few letters in the mail and a date for my friend's wedding this summer.

I have read quite a few self-development book. The content of this book has reminded myself of my intention of reading this type of genre. I enjoyed the provided examples and its relation to modern science. Similar to other book of its kind, this book , of course, also provided many great tools toward self-motivation and improvement.

This thin volume is a distilled version of the original and compares accordingly. In an effort to convey the core of the concepts in the original work, the "essential" version seems superficial. It's not exactly that the concepts are not dealt with in sufficient depth given the limitations of the format and more that the density of the verbiage increases the "jargon ratio" - so much of the prose is Chopra-created that it seems to diminish the significance of the insights.

And, occasionally, in th
A lot of what Chopra says rings true for me. Paying attention to coincidences is like paying attention to dreams. They can guide us at a deeper and usually somewhat more reliable level than our rational and practical minds can. Like a lot of people I've read lately, he can't say enough about the importance of meditation. And I especially liked what he had to say about paying attention to archetypes. It is a book that I will probably refer back to from time to time, a good resource for developin ...more

While this was certainly an interesting read, it offered typical Chopra fare: vague evidence and weak facts that were at times misconstrued to support his claims. I am not a theoretical physicist, however I am a student of anthropology (wouldn't dare call myself an 'anthropologist' until I receive those pesky letters after my name - and maybe not even then!) and have studied scientific theory extensively, which unfortunately tripped me up whilst reading this book. Once critical thinking is activ ...more

I like how Deepak Chopra writes. Every book I've read by him I have read in a day, because I find the subject matter so interesting and his prose is easy to read and follow.

I like the thought behind Chopra more than the self-help aspects. He does a lot of things that I think people ought to internalize than to do command people to do certain things like "write things about that are positive about yourself and when your are sad, look at them."

Reading the thought in his books speak to the intuitio

I finished this book 2 days ago and the only reason I hadn't reviewed it yet is because I'm still rereading some chapters. It's already overdue to my library but I'm keeping it just because of it's reread value.

In my review of Chopras' last book I read, "Power, Freedom, and Grace" I said I gave it 4 stars because I found some of the ideas to be outrageous. But I also said that Chopra commented himself saying "This ideas will first sound outrageous" but that they'll begin to make sense. And with

To understand that book, you must already be open minded spiritually speaking. Chopra relies a lot on sutras, the power of intention and on consciousness. The most striking sentences and ideas are highlighted at the end of the book in 11 ideas, I think I could have read just that and get the essence of the book. Nevertheless, it's a great thing to read the whole book because there are a few exercises to practice mindfulness and the power of intention, which are the keys to better living.

This is probably a 4.5 star book but I rounded up. He warns you in the early part of the book that there's a lot of deep scientific information up front that's necessary in order to explain the more spiritual concepts that follow. It's worth getting through the science (I found that part fascinating anyway, even if parts of it were a little over my head.) Nothing I can say will do this book better justice than the man himself, so here are a few of my favorite quotes:

I rate this book highly & am going to read it over again taking notes. There is a system of meditations that I want to follow. I am so far meditating twice a day, & have picked out 3 archetypes to guide me: Hermes Trismegistus, Cybele, & Joseph, son of Jacob. Hermes Trismegistus is associated w/ Thoth, an Egyptian diety, & Cybele is a mother diety that I also associate w/ Martha Stewart, Grandma Moses, Georgia O'Keefe, Frida Kahlo, my own 2 grandmothers, & Cybill Shepherd (pl ...more

This book is about understanding synchronicity for life meaning in a spiritual sense but I was surprised at how much scientific data he uses to support his spiritual conclusions. I do give credit for Deepak’s organization of thoughts. He is amazing at taking difficult nebulous material and presenting them simply and clearly with a lot of practical examples. In that way, he presents previously discovered spiritual theories with convincing credibility. The best and most compelling chapters describ ...more

There are two or three ideas that I consider interesting from a holistic point of view. Synchronicity as the core energy that moves the Universe, humankind as part of a complex system that is already defined and the encouragement of meditation as the means to connect with that universal self.
However, I found this book to be very cheesy and lacking fundament to most of the things he states. I picked it because I wanted to read more about the enhancement of spirituality, but this kind of reading j

The author begins with an explanation of quantum physics. This is sometimes difficult for me to wrap my mind around. If you are like me in this regard stick with it as the author does tie it altogether nicely. I do enjoy reading this author, I was trying to figure out why. The best I could come up with was that he's very comfortable. There is no doubt this man is brilliant but he doesn't flaunt it. There is no feeling of arrogance here in fact I feel as though he is talking to me and only me. A ...more
