Cozy Light, Cozy Night by Elisa Kleven
Love the cover of this book as a quilter I know each square represents a story and this book is about a year's worth of adventure for a child.
Illustrated, very colorful children's book about the different seasons of the year and what a child can do during each one. I particularly like the fall because there is

As you read the story, you can find the items in the pictures, that was what my son seemed to like the most. He was so excited to find them. For example "Ice cream's cozy in a cone" and he found ice cream cones in the picture.
The pictures were unique. They were not horrible but they were not my favorite. The cover is cute but I would have never picked it out at the bookstore, it needs something more catchy in my opinion.

Cozy Light, Cozy Night features families as they moves through the four seasons. Kleven describes many unique aspects of the season. The book would be excellent for exposing children to a variety of descriptive vocabulary. Kleven creates strong images like crunchy leaves, sizzling cakes and snow that looks like a coverlet of lace. The detailed illustrations feature a number of children enjoying the seasons with bright colors and whimsical lines. Some children may find the overuse of the word coz

I really liked the verses. it took you through each season and really showed what each was about. I found the illustrations just a little too busy though. they were nice, but seemed to be overstuffed and too hard to focus on what the text was telling us. felt a little chaotic rather than cozy to me. I think if the pictures were simplified a little, the whole thing would have been perfect.

Elisa's richly illustrated book Cozy Light, Cozy Night takes you through the seasons with lots of family fun and multicultural activities. While it may be a bit much for younger readers to read on their own the illustrations are engaging and this would make a lovely story for parents to read aloud to their children. This book would be a great addition to any children's collection and would also be valuable in a school library.

Filled with luminously colored and vividly detailed illustrations, this picture book in rhyming text celebrates that feeling of coziness so often associated with family and home. As the seasons change over the course of the year, all sorts of objects, including dreams, cocoa, birds, sweaters, and apples are described as being cozy. There is little doubt that anyone reading this book won't feel that same way.

Snuggle up with your little ones and travel through natures year while searching the folk art illustrations for items mentioned in the rhyming verse. The pleasures depicted in each season are sure to inspire family members to bond by looking at nature more closely or seek a new experience.

Summer is my favorite season - but this book makes me really love and appreciate them all :) The illustrations are unbelievably detailed and beautiful. You can tell this author/illustrator has had quite a lot of practice with children's books. The story is darling, and I can't wait to have kids of my own to share it with! For now, my nephew will get lots of reading time with Auntie Riss.

seasons in verse...also would work for beach theme (if just read the summer part)....which is how this book would work best for PSST, by reading it in segments during the seasons

This would be a great book for storytime about seasons and bedtime.
