John Vernon Lord is a British artist who has spent his life drawing illustrations for children's and adult books as well as advertisements. He attended art school in the 1950s, and began teaching at the University of Brighton in the 1960s. His most famous book is The Giant Jam Sandwich. The book is a collection of his illustrations over the years and comments about them by the artist. It is a treasure trove for those who draw, and love drawing. A pleasure to read and peruse over.
