Karmic Consultants #6

Finder's Keeper

Love isn’t a science. It’s pure chemistry.

Karmic Consultants, Book 6

True love? For neuroscientist Dr. Mia Corregianni, it’s just an unproven hypothesis. But when she loses the heirloom watch her family believes is enchanted with a potent love spell, she fights superstition with superstition by hiring a psychic finder to track it down.

Chase Hunter is a human compass, homing in on whatever the seeker wants most—that is, when he isn’t surfing or actively avoiding anything resembling a real human attachment. Such has been his life since an accident took his family.

Unfortunately, Mia’s case isn’t a simple insta-Find. The catch? To disguise his real mission from her romance-crazy family, he has to pretend to be her boyfriend. He could deal with that if her complicated emotions weren’t blocking his abilities—or if her innermost desires weren’t walloping him upside the head every time he opens himself to his gift.

As the case wears on, their fake romance begins to feel all too real. Scary stuff for a man who’s reluctant to let himself live again. And a woman who doesn’t believe in magic…or love.

Warning: This book contains meddling grandmothers, magic watches, and a surfer with a body so hot it can teach any scientist the true meaning of chemistry.

I LOVE this series. Vivi Andrews knows how to weave a tale with just the right amount of humor, sizzle, and drama. This weaves a tale of a magic watch. The fun part is...for the vast majority of the story said watch is missing.

We watch our scientific heroine go through a transformation of belief. She opens herself up to alternative theories and even the possibility that she is lovable and able to love someone else. Then she scans her brain to see what love looks like.

We get a geek/beta heroine/hero mix here that was really refreshing and fun to read. Both people were damaged and found the way to fix themselves through loving each other.

Great story. I will drop everything and read the next one as well. Each book in this series can be read stand alone. If you are new to this series feel free to jump in, but I highly recommend them all. 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this story it starts out as the funny bickering opposites attract situation with a crazy overbearing family thrown in. Then the characters start connecting & helping each other (not exactly on purpose) deal with their emotional baggage.

Really enjoyed the story & would recommend it. :)

This book was not great but it was a good read I would even say an easy read. I appreciate that I didn't have to read the other books in this series to understand Finders Keeper. The main characters were easy to like, although the lead guy was perfect in his looks(I like the guy to have few flaws it makes it more real and easier to fall in love with him)

I won this book through First Reads. This is not my usual genre but I'm glad I tried it. The story seemed low to start but the character descriptions were necessary. They were relate able and lovable. I fell into the story as if I were standing next to Mia. Vivi's writing style is unique. She gives you just enough without going overboard.

Another Karmic success

This is a great series for readers looking for light fun reading. Mia and Chase's unlikely attraction, witty banter and heartbreaking baggage make this an interesting, humorous read.

Good story but it felt kind of disconnected from the series for some reason. But I liked the take on 'opposites attract'.

Mia is determined to only believe in science and no magic pocket watch is going to change that. Enter Chase, a finder who works for Karmic Consultants, who knocks on her door after she calls for help in finding the missing watch. Between exchanges of favors, Mia falls for Chase and he does too for her. However, in fear of his past happening again, Chase runs until Karma gives him the hard truth. Chase thinks about what Karma said and what he feels. He then goes, ring in hand, to claim his love. They also find the watch which was stolen by Prometheus just in time for the grand Corregianni anniversary.
