My 1st grader read this with me as one of her accelerated reading program books. I thought it taught the reader a lot about the dog and I really liked the glossary of new words in the back of the book. The glossary helped us review what she had learned in the book. I thought she did real well for a first grader but there were lots of really hard words that made the book challenging for her.

This series is a cute, brief way to learn about different kinds of dogs. We'll be checking out others dogs in the series.
