This book is fantastic! There are so many adorable projects. I am not one of those ladies that squeals when things are cute, but I definitely squealed a little on the inside looking through this book. There are simple basic clothing patters, stuffed toy patters, even an adorable bunting and some mobiles. The patterns are so easy to understand, too. I want to make about a million of these little projects for all my friends with small babies!

What happened DK? I adore you and you messed up this time around. This book is very pretty and has fabulous photography, but that is all I can give it, as it betrays the title completely. Easy it is not. There are incidents throughout the book that mention how wonderful it is for new knitters, which makes me shudder. I feel bad for new knitters who pick this up. The way the book is organized is poor. The instructions and explanations should have been at the beginning, not the end. It is also unacceptable to instruct in an "easy" book to RIB and not explain how many stitches or what that even means. There are also complicated patterns that could have been replaced with similar but easier alternatives. I think the contributing factor is the consultant is a very advanced expert in textiles (a PhD), which is nice for a grad school class, but not for the everyday beginning knitter.

Several patterns from this book have gone on my project queue list--especially the cute toys.

I've made a few of these patterns, including the teddy bear and the t-rex. I liked my t-rex so much I made another one later for my nephew. ^_^
