Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

Book published in reference to WCVB chronicle TV series. I enjoyed the book especially the quirky stories of some eccentric New Englanders such as the Knackerman, Mental Magellans and Sting Operation.
I knew of some horrible disasters in New England such as the Coconut Grove fire and the Warwick RI nightclub fire, but I had never heard of the Hartford circus fire that killed 167 mostly women and children, or the Mill River fire in the Berkshires that killed 144 people! I also didn't realize so many military aircrafts crashed in New England and that Larry Webster of Charlestown RI investigated more than 300 sites of crashed planes over a 20 year span. The book ended for me on a dryer side that featured "The Islands and Byways of New England."

A collection of vignettes from roughly 1985-2000, covering interviews with persons in off-the-beaten-path places in the New England states. It's a compilation of stories from a"down home" New England TV series during that same time frame. I would not have picked it up except I thought I might find some good ideas of places to visit in Maine while we're here for the summer. Not a good guidebook, but a neat glimpse into the attitudes and history which makes each NE state unique. A quick, interesting read.
