If I’d had any idea what those words would mean to me, to my mother and daughter, I’d have fled California without looking back.

While driving a rural road, Hannah Shire and her aging mother, who suffers from dementia, stop to help a man at the scene of a car accident. The man whispers mysterious words in Hannah’s ear. Soon people want to kill Hannah and her mother for wha

Hannah Shire and her mother, Carol Ballard, are returning from a weekend away when they come across a car accident. The sole victim, Morton, is injured, mentions his daughter and tells the ladies not to tell anyone—but not to tell them what? Later at home, Hannah finds a flash drive in her pocket, and surmises Morton must have put it there. Later that evening, two FBI agents visit and interview her—but are the really from the FBI? Who can they trust? What follows is a suspenseful chase as the tw ...more

Brandilyn Collins is a new to me author, but I have heard lots of amazing things about her books. So when I was given the chance to review her latest release, I jumped at it! I really liked the characters, I especially loved Hannah's mom Carol it was so cool how she kept quoting scripture verses even though she could no longer remember what book of The Bible they were from. I liked Hannah, and even though there were times that I got a little annoyed with some of the things she did that seemed to
Dark Justice was a great suspense novel. Not a lot (if any) romance and I really appreciated that, as sometimes I just want that type of story. I liked the characters and that it was about three generations of women (not often you find that in a book!).

I liked how the story alternated between timelines (it would jump ahead to after the fact and then go back to the events as they occurred.)

The concept of the book was quite scary. It reminded me a little bit of Terri Blackstock's "Restoration" ser

I received this ARC from in exchange for a review. For me, this book wasn't a whodunit but more of a whydunnit. Hannah, her mom Carol, daughter Emily, to uncover and stop the rascals who are planning to take out the electric grid and plunge America into darkness. That's it. That's all the book is about. I had a lot of trouble getting into the story, believing the characters, ... most of all ... believing the story and the characters.

Brandilyn Collins is a solid writer, and I appreciate the way in which she weaves faith throughout her novels. The novel was reminiscent of a Hitchcock film. I wanted to relate to the main character but her failure to be honest with law enforcement created too much of a disconnect for me.

When Hannah Shire takes an unexpected detour as a means of taking the road less traveled on her way home with her mother who is suffering from dementia, they are about to get more than either one of them bargained for. As they come upon a car accident, Hannah stops to lend assistance to an elderly man named Morton who appears to have been thrown from the vehicle. While she waits for help to arrive the man utters intangible words that don't make sense to Hannah. Believing he is trying to tell her ...more

Brandilyn Collins really lived up to her reputation for seatbelt suspense n this one. After witnessing the aftermath of an accident Hannah Shire and her mother is on the run. Problem is she can't trust anyone even the police and she is running out of places to hide. This one will keep you guessing about who is the bad guys right up to the end. I can always recommend Collins books because suspense fans will not be disappointed. I received this book from a friend. All opinions are my own. ...more

Hannah Shire—together with her elderly mother who is suffering from dementia—drives home after a weekend stay at a hotel. Beside the road they spot a car on its side and a man lying on the ground next to it. As a doctor’s assistant, Hannah rushes to his side. With his last breath, the man is trying to tell her something and fumbles with her coat pocket. Hannah cannot make any sense of the words the man is saying, but she understands not to tell anyone. When Hannah Shire and her elderly mother stop on a deserted road to assist the victim of a car crash, they're pulled into a terrorist plot to take down the entire US power grid and send the country into darkness.

The victim passes on a message—and a warning not to tell anyone, even the police. With no idea what's at stake or who to trust or what the message means, Hannah and her mother, Carol, are soon on the run. She tries to keep her daughter Emily out of it, but all the three are in danger.

What a roller coaster ride! I flew through this book, eating up the pages. Although I have read her YA book Always Watching, I had not previously read any other Brandilyn Collins’ books.
This book was different from most of the Christian Suspense books I usually read. I am use to getting the police's perspective on a case. There were times, when I paused to think about it, that I really wanted to see the police’s perspective! But then I would get r

Do you love reading mystery novels ? Finding yourself deep in conspiracies and theories ? As a fan of crime shows , I love my mystery fiction and one of my favourite Edgy Christian authors is Brandilyn Collins. It started off with a scenic ride home for Hannah and her mother along the coast and then turned into the ride of a lifetime filled with murder, mystery, intrigue as they came across a man lying on the side of the road . Being Good Samaritans, they stopped not knowing that the simple act ...more

My favorite book of Brandilyn Collins is Deadly Exposure. Hands down. Until now... kind of. I think this book holds a tight 2nd place spot to Deadly Exposure in my book. It grabbed my attention IMMEDIATELY and I was finished in about 24 hours. It called for me to put my life on hold while I followed Hannah as she tries to determine who the "Bad People" and the "Good People" are all the while she is most importantly trying to keep her elderly mother and her daughter safe as she unravels the myste ...more

What would we do if terrorists managed to shut down the

From the back cover - "...Hannah Shire and her aging mother, stop to help a man at the scene of a car accident...soon people want to kill Hannah and her mother for what they 'know'" Hannah is not sure just who she can trust so must flee with her confused mother, who suffers from dementia, and also worry about her grown daughter who could also be in danger.

I enjoyed this book, especially the fact that the heroine was older and her side-kick was elderly. It was a nice twist to the usual suspense.
The premise for this book was intriguing and makes you wonder if it could really happen.
Brandilyn Collins is known for her past-faced suspense, and this book doesn't disappoint.

I'm looking at the 4-star rating I just gave this book, and I'm wondering: why? Why 4 stars? Was the book that good? No. I've read better; but "Dark Justice" delivered exactly what I was expecting when I saw the front cover and read the back blurb. Delivering exactly what the customer was hoping for? I'd say that's worth 4 stars.

"Dark Justice" is a perfectly paced thriller. Short paragraphs and a dialogue-driven plot had me eagerly turning page after page. I also

As the story opens, Hannah and her mother are headed home from a weekend trip. Taking a side road just to see more of the scenery, they come upon an accident and stop to help a man who appears to have been thrown from his car. Suddenly from a leisurely weekend, they are thrown into heart-pounding suspense that doesn’t quit until the end of the book. The mother has dementia, so she keeps Hannah on her toes. I simply cannot imagine being in her situation, trying to do what’s right but not knowing ...more

I am giving this three stars, but not for lack of a good story. The story throughout this novel is thrilling & exciting & honestly, scary realistic at the potential a situation like this could actually occur. The characters were interesting & I did not correctly guess one of the "bad people", which are all pluses in my book. I also REALLY enjoyed the main character having to juggle running for her life, figuring out a crime, AND all while caring for a mother with dementia. Those parts were incre ...more

This was an ok book. It switches back and forth between events and a testimony of events. I wasn't overly fond of that but the story still was good. Hannah is given something by a dying man who is trying to stop something terrible. This puts her, her mother (who has mental problems), and her daughter in terrible danger. There is action, family love and plenty of bad guys! It wasn't a bad story, I just didn't connect with it like I had hoped I would. I liked the daughter and the aunt but not so m ...more

Awesome book!

Brandylin Collins has woven another powerful tale with such finess. Her writing is compelling, masterfully written. This is a story of three ladies thrust into a series of events that would not only change their lives, but those of nearly the while nation. Who of us thinks that a terrorist attack will happen and that we might be--if unwilling--a part of it? Yet we've all seen just how quickly our world--indeed, the entire planet Earth--can change in nearly an instant with COVID-19.

Another fast tracked thriller

Brandyn Collins takes the reader into her story from the very first page and the action is nonstop till the end of the book. Who is with the terrorists and who is trying to save the nation? Is there a mole in the police station? I finished in two days, it was very down.

Random small decisions can change our lives. While driving home with her aging mother who suffered from dementia, Hannah Shire chose a rural road over a highway. That set off a series of events which are the plot of this fast-moving thriller.A good and exciting read.

Suspenseful read! But good! Easy to get into, starts into action right from the start! True strength of a mother & daughters bond of three generations! Would make a good movie haha! Finished within 24 hours because I definitely wanted to know what happened next!

This is a very exciting plot involving a terrorist organization trying to create chaos. It is fast moving and tense, not predictable or boring, that’s for sure. I highly recommend it. Brandilyn Collins knows how to write a great thriller.
