Not all pleasures are a sin...

Mina wants to put her seduction by a golden-eyed devil behind her, but the birth of her son, Jacques, renders that impossible. I loved this book! I love Eve’s books so this was not a big surprise. I do however enjoy Eve’s darker books over her humorous books that she is most known for. I like my books dark and twisty.

Mina has been raised by some extremely religious parents that have kept her overly sheltered. They stringent upbringing has left her with some interesting notions of right and wrong. Premarital sex with the sexy drunken frat boy… all kinds of wrong and everyone in her life that should have loved her regard

I love Eve Langlais' books and this one is no exception. Some may find the beginning a bit rough. (view spoiler). It does contain some dubcon. If dubcon with the hero bothers you - You might want to take a pass. However, I think Langlais handled it well. I loved both the main characters. They weren't perfect which added to the appeal for me. Werewolf/shape shifter paranormal with the heat cranked up. Highly recommended to those who ...more

I’ve seen Eve Langlais’ books here and there, but have never read any of them. I’m glad I took a chance on Mated to the Devil. So, so glad. Eve Langlais can tell a great story.

I have to admit, I’m a sucker for secret baby tropes in romance novels so that’s what drew me in about the blurb. Add in a paranormal twist to that and I’m hooked.

The story begins with 19 year old Mina attending a college party with her two cousins. There she meets Remy who saves her from a rape attempt. Her savior, who

Sweet second chance PNR read with good worldbuilding. Insta-love on H's end - H was amazing though he makes a drunken mistake in the beginning. The h was naive, too religious ( she kept thinking the H was the Devil bcos he tempted her!!) and wimpy - she kept fainting. But she was a good mom and had her heart in the right place.

Safe romance.

Overall 3.5 stars!

First, let me say this.....I really enjoyed this novella, honestly! No matter what else I say, remember that. It was nice getting back to some of the more traditional Werewolves. More of the recent PNR stories tend to try to put a twist on the classic and that's great but sometimes it's nice sticking with the traditional. The chemistry between the two main characters is smoldering and there's some great love scenes. But before you run right out and buy this novella, be warned that the book does ...more

What an interesting book. This was definitely one of those cute 'I found you after so long' books that I can pleasantly say did not disappoint me. It had the plenty mixture of romance, drama, hardships, sex and struggles which I found to have helped the heroine to be a much stronger person. And speaking of mixtures, i definitely did not like how the heroine's family reacted toward their daughter's baby. They were so inexorable and heartless, i felt like punching them in the face. The ra

4.5 stars. This book was great. Remy, love that caramel! How cute it was her son Jacques. Remy's dad Pierre, he was the rock. Mina's parents were the worst racist, religion freak Mofo; I am glad that she didn't want to be part of them no more. Mina and Remy were both suffering for years. Pierre was the hero in this story in the beginning; Remy, adorable, trying to keep his mate and him falling in love with his son. Jacques was a cutie pootie, caramel complexion with blue eyes, adorable. Remy and ...more
I always enjoy Eve's books she is one of my favorite authors. I can always expect to have a good read, a good HEA and a smile when you read a book by her. This book goes along with that, but I didn't like that we were always reminded that he was black and she was white. We got it and didn't need to be reminded all the time. Also the religious thing was a little over the top.

I'm a huge fan of Eve Langlais, but this is my least favorite of her works. I almost skipped it altogether after reading some reviews, but made sure I was in a decent headspace and cranked through it.

A trigger warning is needed for the first 2 chapters that involve an attempted sexual assault and then dubious consent, although, in my mind, saying no (whether meant or not) means no and is not consent at all.

Past that, this turns into the typical Langlais story of a couple and their instant attrac

I first heard about Mated to the Devil by Eve Langlais on a soon to be released listing somewhere. Eve Langlais is a hit or miss author for me. Either I really like the book, or it really tanks for me. This was one of the hits.

The story opens with Remy, at one of his college fraternity's parties, drunk and scenting his mate. He follows the scent and finds Mina. Mina is a very innocent, very sheltered young woman who made the mistake of allowing her cousins to drag her to a frat party. Mina's fir

Mina grew up in a strict home, one with many rules and very little love so when asked by her cousins to come with them to a party she accepts never knowing that night will change her life forever. When Mina see's Remy at the party she is instantly attracted to him but overwhelmed with all that is going on around her asks someone if she can sit in his room for awhile. Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:

Oh, it has been much too long since I read an Eve Langlais book. I had forgotten how incredible they are. What an amazing story!!

Our heroine, Mina, ends up at a frat party with her cousins and quickly feels out of place. She's from an incredibly religious household, and it's hard for her to let go of the conditioning. But after getting a glimpse of a guy that turns her inside out, she's a bit confused.

Our hero, Remy, wasn't looki

MATED TO THE DEVIL‏ introduces us to Mina, a girl who has been raised by a family that takes religion to the fanatical level, and Remy a werewolf who is a frat boy in college. As is the case with the shifters in Ms. Langlais world Remy could scent that Mina was his intended mate from the first whiff. Poor Mina has been dragged along with her wilder cousins to a frat party and is surrounded and subsequently man handled by drunk frat boys, when she is saved by Remy.

I am a real sucker for the heroine who ends up in hard times because she gets pregnant and has to go it alone. I think I've liked this theme since I was, like 13 or something. The spunky heroine who does it alone, who sacrifices, and who does not back down but is not bitchy or all nasty hard ass chick (the type makes you wonder what any guy would see in her). Here she has done a very good job and there is no portraying all the sudden a single mom on her own can have her own house and all that. E ...more

It's not often I read an MF story anymore. So it's fab when I finally pick one up and I really like it.
The characters were really well written in this, and though I don't normally like reading stories with heavily religious people in them, it didn't bother me in this. It added to the story well and I wasn't expecting the racial issues that were involved. I mean the woman is mated to a wolf and she's more concerned about skin colour... that's just weird. Not a bad weird, just, well, weird.

A truly... well... bad book.
How it managed to get a nearly 4 star rating I'll never know.
The writing sucks, the characters don't fit their age, the characters are flat, the... well, nearly every aspect of this book got on my nerves.

My biggest issues with this are two fold, no matter what she said years afterward in the written scene where this begins she very clearly said no and stop, maybe she did end up liking it, maybe he wasn't violent in the way of her previous attackers, but the fact of the matter is she said no. No means no and any form of ignoring that is rape. Loving the child she created with him doesn't justify his actions.

The second thing, as a result of his actions at 19 she lost her home, she lost her family

To be honest I didn’t put the book down until I was at 50% mark, at that time I had to do so because I needed to eat. I loved the book because I am just a sucker for 2nd chances and this is what the book was mainly about.
To be honest, I don’t really get to read much about books that has an element of racism in it so this is somehow new to me, but the whole racism thing wasn’t the center of the whole book although it was still quite a big part of it. I love how family oriented the plot is and it

Unknown Changes

Mina and Remy first met while Remy was stinking drunk one night at a college frat party. Their lives were forever changed that night as the result of drunken reactions, but until a few years later and a chance encounter throws them together again.

Although this book did not contain this author's usual snarky, funny characters, it did have a story to tell and a very good one. The characters had very different backgrounds and beliefs and she explained their actions based on each ch

This book was all over the place. The summary makes it sound like the male shifter is bad, which isn’t the case. The author addresses prejudices with different multi racial couples, but also ties religion into a lot throughout. I found it confusing, it hints that being very religious equals racism, but then the heroine in her own way is very religious and judgy, but we’re supposed to like her. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was a good read, however, I wished the story would focus more on the paranormal aspects of the werewolf. There were only a few times where the characters actually shifted into their animals. The romance however, was definitely present. I felt as if it was more a contemporary romance than a paranormal romance.

One fateful scary night results in a pregnancy, a mating and then a missing mate.

A little more religious than I’m used to, this book did have quite a few mentions of god in it. However it fits well into the story line because Mina grew up in a very religious household. Remy and Mina were cute together.

I tried my best to read this book but I just couldn’t. I skipped a lot of chapters and read the last two.
I liked Remy but the female lead was blah blah and blah.
I just couldn’t read her inner dialogue, it was soooo boring. I didn’t like her at all.

Kind of heavy

This story isn't just a romance story, with a werewolf, it also hits on some pretty heavy subjects. Some of the subjects included racism, kidnapping, and rape. Kind of surprising for a PNR story. To lighten the heavy mood there is a cute little boy.
