Hellebella is not your average teenager. She is a demon princess from the underworld. She does, however, have teenager tendencies. She is outspoken, blunt, funny and rebellious. When a final act of rebellion sends her father into a rage, he sends her off to the North American School of Paranormal Princes-sing where he hopes she can learn to become a proper young lady and d ...more

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. This was such an easy read that I finished it in less than 24 hours! I breezed through this and found myself losing track of time, (I’m not joking, Mischief and Tiny nearly starved! Well dinner was 10 mins late but you know what cats are like!) I enjoyed how Ms Travis made the retelling work and I to

(I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.)

After Realm was a retelling of the Twelve Dancing Princesses with some slight twists. For example, while often your vision of the main character may be the lovely blond from the Barbie rendition of this story, the protagonist in this story was a red-skinned, horned demon princess. That's right. BUT SHE WAS SO FLIPPING AWESOME.

Straight off the bat, I could tell that although the story w

The book follows the story of the 12 dancing princesses but with a twist. They are all Supernatural Princesses. The story centers around Hellebella a Demon Princess who is an average teenager with average teenager issues (rebellious, outspoken and defiant). She is sent to a boarding school to be taught how to become a real princess with a group of other girls with the same teen angst. Helle finds a secret door and together with her friends the story of the 12 dancing princesses emerge.

Detailed Review: This book far exceeded my expectations. Usually I expected quite little from self-published books but this book was just written with such amazing writing skills. This writer's words has the ability to transport you to the character's time and place with such vivid descriptions that you find you can't stop reading.

This books is actually a retelling of the 12 Dancing Princesses in a gothic twist that is simp

A-mazing. I loved it... A beautiful retelling of the 12 dancing princesses with a paranormal twist. Rather than 12 princess sisters there are eight princesses at a boarding school, each one representing a different paranormal kingdom: demon, vampire, shape-shifters (canine AND feline), goblin, witch and fairy (Seelie “light and good” and Unseelie “dark and bad”…Although those explanations aren’t exactly correct either but that’s not the point in this story so…moving on.) Hellebella is the MC, a ...more

What a fun book. I really enjoyed it! At first I thought I might have a hard time getting into it because the main character was out of this world (literally) she has red skin and is what you might expect a cartoon demon female too look like, but it was actually pretty cool. The author did a wonderful job painting a vivid world for her readers and I simply couldn't put it down.

Hellebella (our main character) is sent to a boar

It's honestly kind of problematic when of all the characters that end up with their semi-forbidden or unusual love interest are straight and the only ones who do not are the two girls who are into each other. Had one of the other couples not worked out, this wouldn't have bothered me, but unfortunately that was not the case, so their unsatisfied love life stands out heavily with that of the straight protagonists. I know this wasn't even the focus of the book, but still it bothers me.

One of my favorite independently published books I have read! The characters and plot drag you in, and the twist at the end leaves you wanting more! There were some typos throughout, but the overall story was well-done so they could easily be overlooked.

This is an urban gothic retelling of the 12 dancing princesses. Self Published, so editing wise be kind.

A book I love that never fails to make me smile
