**5 "It's Smoochal" Stars**

Shooner Moore is a man who spends his 43 year old birthday feeling lonely, even though his wife has planned a party for him. An old friend mentions something from their college years and Shooner gets down in his memory lane, getting lost in his thoughts about the girl who stole his heart back then. A girl he was never able to get over with, even if he got married and made a family.

Mia Silver was barely 16 when she enlisted on the Californian college. A true New Yorker, she wa

I absolutely loved this book! I loved Schooner. I loved Mia. I loved the surrounding characters. I loved the flashbacks. I loved the here and now. It's original and addictive.

5 Mooreish stars See what I did there? ;)

I am fuuuuurious at Julie A. Richman for leaving me dangling from that cliff!! Oh my goodness. Talk about cliffhanger. The good news, ladies, is that we only have to wait two weeks for book #2. Thaddictive.

There were so many reasons I wanted to like this one...

And yet, so many more I detested it.

I'll start with this gripe ----> "Baby Girl" was used 95 times. I didn't pull that figure out my kaboose. I literally searched it. ¡NINE...FIVER! At 32 I felt the beginnings of a petit mal seizure. At 64 we had gone to alert level grand mal. Crap on a cracker! If that mo

I have three words for you - SCHOONER FLIPPING MOORE!!! I actually have more words for you. This book is very likable and unique. I love how the author goes from the present to the past and back to the present. While doing so, she makes this book enjoyable for any one ages 18 and up. The book starts off with a dapper looking 43 year old, Schooner Moore. He's athletic, well-kept, fashionable, sharp and successful. The book then takes a quick turn back to his college years. There you will ...more
Not sure what to say about this one.

I started it a few weeks back. It was my supposed to be my "in between book" but after a bit of time I set it aside because I just wasn't feeling it.

I picked it up again yesterday and read through it but in the end I just never got invested in Schooner and Mia.

There are some pretty great reviews out there for this one so I am sure it was a matter of "it is me and my mood" and not the book. :)

An OK listen. Certain parts I really liked but some parts were a little twee but maybe it's because I listened to the audio rather than read the book.

Holy crap! What just happened? I LOVE, LOVE LOVED this book! Now I NEED book 2 - my stomach's in knots from the cliffhanger at the end - not sure how I'm going to endure the wait!

Mia Silver and Schooner Moore meet as college freshman. Mia is a quirky New Yorker while Schooner is the quintessential blue-eyed, blond California boy who everyone naturally thinks is beautiful. He is desperate to please his family by being someone he thinks they think he should be - he has the gorgeous blonde bombshe

Jenny: Well, Gitte I was checking through my notes and thinking back on this book about friends to lovers and second chances....oh there was so much I loved! Really loved. It was emotional, beautiful, sad, funny and the ending made me gasp, what a cliffhanger! Getting to know Schooner, Mia and CJ all the way through their college years and watching them mature, going through their ups and downs, was such a wonderful journey and I was enjoying this book so much, not to mention how much I love

5 Can't Wait for Moore STARS

Purchased this book last night and read it until I finished it. From the first chapter, it was very hard NOT to be invested in these characters.

What is so very impressive is that it has the appeal for 20 somethings up to 50 somethings! We are taken from the present day where Schooner is 43 years old and has no clue what the hell his world has become or who he is. He's living a "plastic Barbie/Ken existence" with CJ until his old college friend, Beau, reveals that

This must be one of the most romantic and at times heart-breaking stories I have ever read!

I was pleasantly surprised with this book, as I had in mind something completely different with the FB references mentioned in the blurb.

Why the hype?

I don't know is it just me since everyone else loved it, but I had to give up on this book, I was bored and I hated the main character Schooner.

I have never heard that kind of name. It was really weird, but I got over it later. However, he was such a coward, afraid to be himself and I just didn't like him at all. Not even a little.
The story itself wasn't engaging. I liked couple of very funny scenes with him and Mia, some where really cute and made me gasp, but that wasn't enough for me to40%

I've had this book for quite sometime now and was really excited to finally get to it. I thought it would be a good choice to read after reading Forbidden (a powerful but very tragic story).

I liked the beginning of the story, as well as part of the flashback story as to how Schooner and Mia met back in College. However, some parts of the flashback story were a bit unbelievable how it went down

For example :(view spoiler) . Also, once I found out the reason of why they actually got apart in college, I thought it was a bit absurd and kind of silly.

Then, halfway through the book once (view spoiler) the story really lost my interest and I got bored that I ended up skimming pages towards the end. It became too predictable and some parts really dragged. Also, it felt a little bit too mellow and too flowery and a bit cheesy at times for me.

Overall, it was an okay story of first love and second chances. But it was just not for me.
This first instalment of the series was divided into two parts - Schooner (««weird name) and Mia' s intense and sweet first love affair at college then in the second part some 24 years later, how they come to rediscover each other.

The first part of the story was a sweet read, but I was a little detached from investing in them as a couple as the first few pages told me he was married to someone else. There's nothing like knowing it's not going to work out to force you to pull back I t
“This is just the start. You know that, don’t you?”

I love a good second-chance-romance! And while this wasn’t as epic as I was hoping for it to be, it was still an enjoyable read featuring two characters with a soul-deep connection, lots of swoony moments, some angst, and a nice amount of sexy time.

Before I get started on the review though, I need to take a moment to WTF over the hero’s name – Schooner. Really? I have never heard this name before, and it took me a bit to get past it because it sou

4.5 stars..

We start with Schooner Moore attending his 43rd birthday, but find him detached from the celebrations. He is witnessing a party more in keeping with his wife's aspirations, CJ, than his.

A random comment from his college friend, Beau, throws his head back to a love lost at college; Mia Silver. The next few days events lead him to reliving his college days, as well as trying to understand what had ripped his relationship with Mia apart.

Absolutely loved this debut book from Julie Richman. It was cute and sweet and a breath of fresh air from the multitude of books that I've read recently in which the main characters have an insta-love. In this book, there is no instant love between Schooner and Mia, but rather there is curiosity and intrigue that slowly morphs into friendship and then love. The whole time you're rooting for Schooner and Mia, hoping that they'll make it through all of the drama and angst to get their happily ever ...more

This book was absolutely amazing. I am addicted to romance books and read a lot. This has been one of the best books that I have read in a while. I could not put it down until I finished it lost sleep but it was worth it. It has everything a romance novel should with many little twists it keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. I can't wait for the sequel. I need "Moore". Smoochal!!!

The Needing Moore Series by Julie A.Richman
Adult contemporary trilogy. Must be read in order.

I have been wanting to read the Needing Moore series by Julie Richman for a long time, but never really got a chance to commit to a 3-book series. I have heard so many amazing things, that when I saw it was on audio, I grabbed the whole series ASAP.

I loved the epic story that covered over 25 years. I loved the realistic characters. However, I don't recommend the audio version of this series. At first, I was okay with the mA.Richman

Attended by reality TV star wannabes and Southern California social climbers, Schooner Moore knows the party his wife is throwing for his forty-third birthday has little to do with him and everything to do with her social standing in Orange County. The evening turns out to hold more surprises than just his wife's Botoxed friends groping at his privates, when a conversation with his old college roommate, Beau, reveals the biggest surprise of the night.

Okay I found this book by recommendations on Facebook.

It was definately worth the purchase. I thoroughly enjoyed the book even though there was a cliffhanger at the end. I absolutely hate waiting for the next book. Schooner Moore and Mia Silver are delightful characters. The book was well written and the story flowed beautifully and was convincing.

It was nice to see the author take a fresh approach with the romance. The couple were the typical young adults, they were midd

Please don't be mad at me. I think I am the minority here. I am glad I only paid 0.99 cents for this. I don't think I will buy the second book.
Don't get me wrong. I think the story is great. Love the H/h. While I loved the first part of the book when they were still in college, I didn't really care for story much after they found each other again. Believe me, I am not a fan of CJ. But their marriage lasted 24 years! And then BAM....the divorce was not even final, the heroine is pregnant. Well,

Searching For Moore was a 5 star read for me. This story had me on the first page..seriously. It was one of those can't put down books that you'll find yourself obsessively reading until the end. I couldn't get enough of the characters and found myself routing for them and their rekindled romance. There were times at the beginning that I wanted to slap Schooner and say, "Snap out of it," Mia is right in front of you...embrace this love and ditch CJ. But of course, mistakes and regrets have to ha ...more

I was shocked to find myself loving the idea that I knew where the story was heading but had no idea how it got there. Even knowing—or partly knowing—what would be happening in the future, there were so many heartbreaking and stunning moments in the book that it made me that much more invested in finding out how it all came together, or in some cases, fell apart.
