Meet Serene Poole, a 16-year-old girl cursed with horrible luck. She’s a walking disaster and can’t go a day without getting hurt- sometimes the injuries are minor nuisances, but other times they are more severe, requiring stitches, casts and stays in the hospital. She doesn’t understand why she suffers the way she does, until one terrible night she learns the truth. In a ...more

Do you think we are Masters of our own Destiny? Or do you think someone is pulling the Strings? Why do bad things Happen to Good people? Why do we feel sooo connected to THAT one person when odds are there should be NOTHING between you? Puppets of The Fates By Kay Glass explores this whole thought. Serene, a teenager is an accident waiting to happen, she has been in the hospital with broken, bones strains sprains .. you name it it has happened to her. Constantly being made fun of or ignored by f ...more

I enjoyed the book though YA isn’t really my thing. Kay Glass is becoming a better writer with every work. She did a great job with the 16 year old ‘voice’. The main character, Serene, is a loveable and easily identified with character. Her lack of trust in people is something I think we all can relate to. She understandably lacks confidence and therefore doesn't see within herself what those who truly love her see, another attribute I think many people can identify with. The story is well written and the deta ...more

This book was hard for me to take, I felt sorry for Serene, but I didn't. Usually when a book gets to me I put it down and wait to see if it's worth the emotion, but this time I just kept reading. I had to know what happened, to her, to him, to everyone. It makes you think, if there is a past life and you do something terrible, do you deserve to suffer through the rest of them? There were a lot of moments where I was upset with the Fates, the bullies, even Ryder, so I think it was well written, ...more
