While guarding a beautiful, high-maintenance pop star, a stuntman wrestles with frustration - and intense desire.

Raven-haired, blue-eyed Jack Price hates being the only single member of Thrillseekers Anonymous, and he wishes his friends would stop trying to play matchmaker. He already has someone on his mind: Audrey LaRue, the gorgeous pop star - and diva extraordinaire - he's guarding from a vicious stalker.

All Audrey ever wanted to do was sing, write songs, and inspire other girls to do the same. Suddenly, she's a megafamous celebrity - and she hates it. The paparazzi document her every move. A crazed stalker threatens to kill her. Anyone in her position would throw an occasional tantrum - or ten.

As Audrey's tour marches on, the pressure - and the danger - build. But Jack rarely leaves her side, watching her and giving her the sexiest smiles she's ever seen. Can they keep this relationship professional - or will they succumb to overwhelming desire?

My Musings

Loved Jack. I enjoyed his character in the other books, but fell in love with him in this one. Audrey was harder to like, but her character was redeemed by the end of the book. Happy ☺reading 📚!

I really wanted to like this book, as I enjoyed the first two books in this series, but American Diva was just a frustrating read. This story is about Audrey, an ultra-famous pop singer of 28, and Jack, an ex-military, pilot and stunt person for Thrill Seekers Anonymous. Jack gets hired to provide security after she gets a few threatening letters.

First let me say that I think Julia London is a very talented writer, but as I have come to know her stories are either a "Hit" or "Miss". And her misses can almost always be boiled down to the same fundamental problem: the story focuses on characters who you simply don't like or care about. This is the problem with American Diva.

In American Diva, *ALL* of the secondary characters are jerks. Her co-workers, boyfriend, and entire family are all horrible people with no redeeming qualities. None of the sub stories were fun, entertaining, or enjoyable. The story also includes a bad guy, and we know from the beginning who he is, so it was just a lackluster plot device to keep Jack and Audrey together. When the bad guy gets caught, it was very anti-climatic.

To make this book worse, the heroine Audrey is not very likable. She is a diva, and acts horribly through most of the book. She is either a raging bitch without apology, or a complete doormat getting walked all over. She has a few normal moments with Jack, but in most of their very short and totally unrealistic relationship she is awful to him. She makes a few "TSTL" decisions that frustrated me to know end.

Jack was the best part of the book, but truthfully he is the same generic guy from so many other romance novels. His character is so cookie cutter, i.e...tall, built, dark hair, blue eyes, handsome as sin, treats his woman like gold, and can perform in bed like the stud he thinks he is.

I wont even get into how I didn't like the ending, but just know it has a strange conclusion that did not leave my heart melting. It left me scratching my head thinking "huh, that's it?!"

Given all of this, I would highly recommend you read the first book in the series "Wedding Survivor" as it was great. The follow up "Extreme Bachelor" wasn't as good, but it was a likable story. But skip this one.

This book was frustrating as heck!!! The first 2 books were great....but this one made me want to throw my phone at the wall. All the characters were annoying ( made me want to reach into the book and slap them all for the way they treated Audrey ) but don't get me started on Audrey ....... She was the victim victim victim....wah wah wah.....I wanted to slap here the most. She couldn't make up her mind and let all the people around her tell her what to do. OMG I want to throw my phone even trying to write this review. UGHHHHHH

Tried although I highly doubted my enjoyment of this heroine after reading the reviews. I thought Renee Raudman could make anything better though and I have really enjoyed the other two books in this series. However, it is a slow beginning and the heroine is showing herself to be the diva I feared. I'll keep it for another day (because of R Raudman) as I'm not convinced it's a DNF - more that I'm just not in the mood for a difficult heroine.

2. The h follows said boyfriend's directive that she has to be curt and bossy with everyone who works for her so they don't 'walk all over her'. She is then upset to find out that people who know her don't like her.
3. Most of the people around her, especially family, are horrible people.
4. She makes stupid decisions... All the time.
5. The H was OK but lapses into periods of selfishness.

Pengawal jatuh cinta pd Diva yg dikawalnya, klise banget ala film The Bodyguard dimana Kevin Costner mati2an melindungi dan melawan jatuh cinta pd Whitney Houston. Bedanya Jack si Pengawal tidak melawan jatuh cinta, justru dia tercebur dlm hubungan segitiga Sang Diva.

Poin penyesalan paling tinggi saya adalah Audrey terlalu mudah terpengaruh. Audrey membiarkan dirinya dimanfaatkan keluarganya, koleganya bahkan kekasihnya. Jadi giliran Jack dijadikan "dipermainkan" dgn ketidakjelasan status hubungan mereka.

2 damaged souls bond....

Aubrey is a successful singer being threatened by an unknown hater who is out to harm her. Luke, in need of extra money to finance his business adventure, is hired on to protect Aubrey. After a rough start Aubrey and Luke find common ground and bond with each other. After a family crises they both give in to their mutual attraction but with Aubrey's still boyfriend and manager things become complicated.
The final book in this series is just as good as book 1 and 2. I was glued to the pages and drawn too Luke's character. He is demanding but yet vulnerable. A wonderful read and beautifully written by Julia London.

Good portrait of the problems of fame

I enjoyed the book overall and it was well written but a lot of the book didn't make me laugh or happy. It does create a frustration with the characters but was difficult to put down. You keep thinking something good will happen to the characters but it was a long time coming. I personally like more humor in an escape book , but this gives what I perceive as a great characterization of the problems associated with fame and the personal toll that comes with it. The main characters seem real and complicated. I would definitely recommend but it isn't a light hearted read.

No spine

I really tried to finish the book, but this author failed to made me care for the characters. If you hate cheating then this is not the book for you. Not only that but the author was unable to make me to connect with the h, she was either too much of a brat or unable to stand up for herself.

Audrey is a spoiled diva… or so Jack thinks. As he gets to know this pop star, will he realize that she is so much more than what she projects? Will audrey be able to let down her walls?

Perlahan-lahan Jack melihat, seperti apa sebenarnya Audrey. Selain sikapnya yg kadang menjengkelkan, Audrey sebenarnya seseorang yg sangat baik, ya juga sangat tegar dlm menghadapi keluarganya yg seperti parasit. Ibunya yg mengerikan, yg sepertinya justru membenci Audrey karena kesuksesannya tp tidak menolak uang Audrey. Kakak perempuannya yg tdk bs berdiri sendiri, adik lelakinya yg tenggelam dlm obat2an dan ayahnya yg selalu menggerogoti dirinya. Blm lagi pacar Audrey si musisi pas-pasan yg selalu mendikte Ausrey tp juga tanpa malu2 mendompleng kesuksesan Audrey.

Jack membuat Audrey menyadari bahwa seseorang seperti Jack lah yg dia butuhkan dlm hidupnya. Sejak awal mereka berdua saling tertarik seperti magnet.

Jack is my favorite, dibandingkan Eli dan Michael. Oh, Jack...*mendesah* hihihi....
Loved this series.

Fall Into Me is a nice love story with the familiar plot detail of famous musician who is lost amidst her fame. This was a good enough book for me. It didn’t have that intensity in the romance as I’ve read in other books. This is the major reason why I didn’t give the book a higher rating. I just felt like I was reading the romance between Audrey and Jack. It actually had a good start, especially in regard to the beach scene. But somewhere along the way, that spark disappeared and left the book a little flat. If that intensity and depth was consistent throughout the book, I would’ve liked it more.

This lack of descriptive spark did a disservice to our couple. I actually didn’t have a problem with either Audrey or Jack. I thought they were written well. Regardless of what my opinion on Audrey is (and for the most part is not on the good side), I thought her character was fleshed out enough to where I can understand and see why she behaves the way she does.

The best part of the book for me is Jack Price. I really liked how strong and confident he is. I can see why Audrey would feel safe with him and trust him. I must say, he’s one of the best complimentors (if that is a word? Lol) I’ve come across in a book. You can really tell he is sincere when he says it. He has a quiet, subtle sex appeal.

What kind of left me wondering was the lack of focus put on the threats/danger posed to Audrey which is the main reason why Jack was around her in the first place. I actually forgot about that aspect of the story until it would pop up in a scene, especially when several chapters were devoted to just Audrey and Jack. When it was brought up again, it sort of felt out place, as if it was just thrown in haphazardly. I would’ve liked for that plot detail to have been incorporated more thoroughly into the story and play a bigger part between Audrey and Jack.

In general, this was a good written book. It isn’t the best romance I’ve read, but it isn’t horrible. I just wanted to feel the passion more so than just having to read it. At times it also felt like it was also an introspective on Audrey’s life. This book had potential to be more than what it is. But I enjoyed it well enough to occupy me for a day or two.

Romance Contemporary | Contemporary Chick Lit

Audrey LaRue achieved pop stardom rather quickly with the help of her attentive but career-minded manager/boyfriend, Lucas Bonner. She's annoyed that he commits her to perform a private concert at a wealthy middle-aged man's birthday party on a tropical island. Jack Price, part-owner of Thrillseekers Anonymous, is annoyed too. He's supposed to be giving lazy, drunk partygoers an "extreme sports" experience but instead finds himself seeking solitude on a deserted stretch of sand. Audrey wants to relax at any cost, but even when she offers cash for Jack's beach chair, he refuses the demands of the AMERICAN DIVA.

Audrey is about to embark on her first major music tour, but a series of threatening letters casts a shadow over her success. Without consulting her first, Lucas hires Jack Price to keep her safe. While providing security on tour, Jack has trouble getting past Audrey's diva attitudes. He finds Audrey attractive and intriguing but doesn't want to be distracted from his primary duty -- protecting her from an increasingly bold and ominous threat. Audrey doesn't know who to trust, especially when she finds herself caught between her bodyguard and her boyfriend. Jack and Lucas both claim to value her interests and her heart.

Creating sympathy for a wealthy, successful singer/songwriter can be tricky because, of course, it seems as if the pop diva has already achieved her dreams and shouldn't be complaining. Julia London creates a sympathetic character whose ambitions thankfully include more than fame and fortune. Audrey loves success but hates the attention of the tabloid media. Readers will adore her naive and trusting spirit, even as they quickly turn pages to reach the conclusion of the suspenseful subplot. Ultimately a sexy feel-good romance, this story is a journey for human connection and happiness through, love, family and great music!

I won this book through first reads here on goodreads.

I haven't read the first two books in this series but that wasn't a problem at all. Very easy to jump right in but I think I will pick up the first two books in the series. Honestly at first I thought I wasn't going to like this book, the pop star diva thing isn't my cup of tea generally, but I ended up enjoying it a lot.

I wanted to strangle various characters at various times in the story but that isn't always a bad thing, it adds drama! The love interest side of the story was exciting and the sexual tension/moments were pretty hot. However I was a little disappointed that the suspenseful part (the stalker issue) wasn't very suspenseful. There is no mystery on the identity of the stalker and the whole stalker storyline takes a backseat to the romance/relationship drama. At times I even forgot this conflict even existed.

So if you are looking for a whodunit tale this book is not for you. If you are into romance and sexual tension, Fall Into Me fits the bill.

Biasanya aku paling sebal sama buku yang dua tokoh utamanya memulai hubungannya melalui sebuah perselingkuhan, misal buku Wicked Angel - Terpikat Sang Malaikat by Julia London dan Dilema Cinta (Hummingbird) by LaVyrle Spencer . Tapi pas baca buku ini, kok gak emosi blas ya, mungkin karena Lucas-nya menyebalkan and pantas diselingkuhi.

Jack-nya so suwiiiiiiit, aku cinta Jack, pengin punya laki kek Jack.

And s*x scene-nya bagiku bener-bener hoooooootttt.

tadinya mo ngasih bintang 2, krn alur ceritanya lumayan walau tetep bukan kesukaan gw, tapi menjelang bab2 akhir tokoh wanitanya bener2 kya "bitch" bikin gw mo nampar bolak balik.

Typical romance, good for a sleepy vacation/not thinking too much

I found this book on my Kindle, doe s that ever happen to you, a book about you-dont-know-what on your kindle for you-dont-why?

Turns out it's a romance about a pop star and her body guard. An average amount of drama, some typical plot devices, and a few surprise dynamics which make the protagonist much more dynamic than I'd expect for the genre.

The book took a lot longer to "get there" than I would have expected, but created a much more interesting story in the process. I still don't know why I had this book, but I'm glad the characters made some good progress as people, developed autonomy, and found love that wasn't based in drama and obsession.

This is the third book in the Thrillseekers Anonymous series.

This book finds Jack Price playing body guard to singer Audrey LaRue. It seems that Jack no matter how hard he fights is falling for Audrey. The problem is she's already in a relationship with someone else.

Audrey starts to fall for Jack also, but how can she make a clean break with long time boyfriend and business manager when she has let everyone else make all the decisions for her and her career ? Can she leave her boyfriend when she feels so responsible for his career also, and for letting him help her for years ?

This book is an easy read in an afternoon.

This is the first book I have read by Julia London and I was pleasantly surprised by her writing style. The story was great and had me interested in what was going to happen next. It did start out a little slow for me and took me awhile to get into, but once I did I had a hard time putting it down.

The characters were developed very well. Each one had their own personality, there were some I loved and others I could not stand. The chemistry between Audrey and Jack was amazing. They had me rooting for them right away.

If you enjoy contemporary romance I definitely reccommend this book.

I was looking for a light and fluffy read and I definitely got it from this book, although it wasn't the best one out there. I didn't like that cheating seemed to be okay in this book. I also didn't care for the amount of sex in the book. I think you could write a good romance with maybe one sex scene in it and get your point across, but it seemed like in every single chapter they were groping and fondling each other or having sex. That is just not my thing. I did however like the story line and thought it had a good premise.

Satu bintang buat cerita & satu bintang buat cover...^_^

I liked this 3rd book in the TA series. This time it's Jack's turn. He gets hired on as personal security for singer Audrey LaRue after she starts receiving death threats. There are a lot of characters in this book, and most aren't very likeable. Oh, and there is cheating, so be warned! I felt so bad for Audrey through most of the book, but I really liked Jack. There were humorous parts and sexy part that made up for the depressing part. The story was interesting and kept me engaged, so overall I enjoyed this book!
