I can't believe I finished this book in 24 hours! Wait, yes I can: I couldn't put it down!

'Til Death picks up where "Life & Death" left off, after the marriage of Lily and Val. It's back to business as usual for the newlyweds, as they're thrown into training vampire hunters to take out the Austere. From there, though, things go crazy. Lily comes home to find the house thrashed, her husband missing, and her son locked away for safe-keeping. The rest of the book is an emotional roller coaster ride-- is Val turning Austere, was he killed, did he just run off with some tramp?

I spent the entire time channeling Lily's feelings-- hurt, rage, heartbreak, relief, denial, hope, and moments of happiness. As soon as I could settle into a feeling of comfortable acceptance, there was a new surprise thrown at me. Way to keep a reader on their toes!

A thoroughly enjoyable read, I definitely recommend it! Now to wait (im)patiently for book three to come out! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Vampire military trainer, Lily Drake has what seems to be a perfect life. She is newly married ot her doting husband, Valentine, and a wonderful son. Then tragedy hits. Her husband is kidnapped. Lily is convinced he is still alive and moves heaven and earth and anything else in her way to find her husband.

Til Death Do Us Part is a different type of vampire story. Although there is love and relationships this story is more about a rouge vampire and a “good” vampire. I loved it. Once I started I could not put it down. Olivia has to be my favorite character. The fact that she was small but lethal made me cheer for her, but I really loved her loyalty. She never questioned why Lily was asking her to do things and stood by Lily when what she really needed was a friend. When Liv made friends with Lily’s son I knew she was a forever friend and I cannot wait to see where their friendship goes.

I was torn between Lily moving on or Lily holding out hope for Val’s safe return. Lily’s mourning for her loss of husband, but yet managing to go on with life, showed her strength. When she started to move on I was proud of her and hoping she would find another happy ending. Somehow I knew it wouldn’t be that easy and am glad that it wasn’t.

Book three cannot come soon enough. Any vampire story lover has to check out this series. Do not pass it up or you will be sorry. I will highly recommend this novel.

I LOVED book one of this series. I devoured both books in a matter of two days. I loved the way book one ended and book two began.

I will admit, I was a little pissed off at Nelson about a third of the way into the book, but she really twisted the plot into an interesting direction that I wasn't expecting. I read this book a week ago and I still can't form into words the awesomeness that is the Lily Drake series.

There was so much imagination used in this book. The creativity made for a gripping read. Nelson pushes all the boundaries in this series and I'm honored to have read this book early. The only problem with that, is now I have to wait longer for book three!

Boy, this second book left off with one hell of a cliffhanger. I am going to be at the edge of my seat until Nelson can pen more. I HAVE to know what is going to happen next.

If you love vampires, action and romance, then you MUST pick up this series. It deserves more than the five glittery stars I have to give!

So after the first Lily Drake book, honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect from the second. Everything seemed to be wrapped up nicely in LIFE AND DEATH OF LILY DRAKE – Lily was happily married to the love of her life, she had her adorable son Keaton safe, she had took down one of the most powerful austere, and she had a great job lined up. There didn’t seem to be enough loose ends that I thought could create a story as full of action as the first. Of course, Nelson proved me completely wrong, delivering a story even more suspenseful than the first!

The highlight of the story is definitely the plot! Like the first, there was plenty of action and snark, which I expected. However, I found that there were more… surprises, I suppose, in the plot than I expected. One of the (very small) problems I had with the first novel was that it was relatively easy to predict what would happen to Lily, and who she was probably going to choose. Here, though, I found that I didn’t quite know what was going to happen, which of course adds to the excitement! Overall I’d say Nelson was much more creative with the plot. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

On top of the plot, you also have the characters! I’d say you don’t see as much of some characters, like Rose, but of course our favorite two vampire cousins are still as lovable as ever. Even though there’s a plot event that keeps them apart, you can still see the rivalry and friendship between Mathias and Valentine. That’s not to say that their relationship is completely without bumps though – both Lily and Mathias are tested when Valentine disappears, and they don’t really know what do with themselves. The bottom line is, though, that the three are always there for each other, along with Rose, Buchard, and all their trusted companions.

Another unexpected thing I liked was the new part of the vampire world we get to explore. Throughout the novel, you get to see a different side of their dark world in New Orleans in the form of a club of sorts. It thoroughly creeped me out – but it fascinated me at the same time! And obviously New Orleans is in a different state than Mount Vernon, so you also explore a different state and land, with distinctly different laws and vampires. If you’re looking to explore more of Lily’s world, you won’t be disappointed!

I’d say my only complaint is with the ending of the novel. First of all, it ends with a cliffhanger *sad face* It’s both a good thing and a bad thing for me – it definitely left me wanting to know what happened, but also disappointed me, since I have to wait another year >__< I also felt like this was the one part in the novel where I knew what would happen, based on the many cliché wedding movies I watched.

Nonetheless, ’TIL DEATH DO US PART was a great continuation to the Lily Drake series. Fans of the series definitely won’t be disappointed, and will also be left wanting for more as I was. If you’re an adult paranormal or vampire fan and haven’t picked up this series, don’t miss out! There’s a great combo of romance and action (plus non-insta-love!), that appeals to both Twilight fans and not-as-much fans alike!

When Lily married Valentine, it seemed like the story had been sewn up nicely. Lily was all set to lead the vampire army, fight the Austere (human-blood-drinking) population, and live a happily-ever-after with Val and her son, Keaton. However, Lily’s sugar-coated ending immediately turns into a blood-coated one as the mansion is attacked when Lily and Mathias, Val’s cousin and her former love, are out hunting. She returns home to find Keaton locked up in a safe place and Val gone. After months of fruitless searching, a depressed Lily is sent by her Aunt Rose to help the New Orleans contingent fight a series of inconsistent Austere attacks. Lily does as she’s told, and heads to the Big Easy, only to find that her husband isn’t as dead as she thought. In the end, Lily will need to make choices about who to trust and who to love. Will it be Val or Mathias?

If you’re a long-time follower of my reviews, then you’ll remember that I loved the first book The Life and Death of Lily Drake. Nelson’s writing style is quick, sarcastic, and funny, which I personally identify strongly with. So the storyline of the follow-up, ‘Til Death Do Us Part, interested me from the beginning. In the sequel, we end up with a whole series of twists – the reader literally thinks they know where the story is going and then they get hit with an unexpected turn.

As Lily’s relationship changes, Nelson does a great job of helping the reader see how the shift in Lily’s affections might be believable. Though I did miss some of the “we-could-get-attacked-at-any-moment” tension from book one, it was understandably absent, given the character was in mourning for a majority of the book. The reader ends up empathizing with Lily on many levels and agonizing over her choices. In the end, there is a cliffhanger, so be warned! You will be scrambling as you wildly search out the release date for book three and hope for more. Fans won’t have to wait too long for a teaser. The free read The First Time, comes out from Inkspell Publishing on April 24th. You’ll want to add both that and ‘Till Death Do Us Part to your TBR list!

Bottom line: Fans of Lily Drake will be happy to welcome her back with open arms.

The second book picks up right where book one left off. You think that Lily and Val are going to get there happily-ever-after, but nothing can ever be that simple. Instead Lily and the crew is once again thrown into turmoil. Only this time there are more characters to love. But Lily is on her own, because her husband is gone, or is he. It's the question posed throughout the entire book and you feel all the emotions that Lily channels.

For a moment I was torn between Lily holding out hope for Val or for her moving on, but that lasted a minute. Then I was all for Lily holding out hope, then my feelings turned again and I'm seriously hoping she can have her cake and eat it too. (For those who haven't read the series you won't get the reference YET, as soon as you do you'll understand) There were plot turns after plot turns that kept me guessing and the humor that you've come to expect from the first book.

All I have to say is that I'm anxiously awaiting to dive into book 3!!
