Having escaped from the Talons of Peace with four other dragonets, Tsunami is thrilled to be heading to the SeaWing Kingdom from which she was stolen years ago. The five dragonets of destiny are supposed to stop a war among the various dragon factions, and she is sure that her mother's kingdom may be a safe place for her and her companions. But they've barely arrived when the others are put in a cave, and Tsunami must navigate lies, deceit, and treachery from every direction. Through it all, she ...more

I hate to say it, but I was really disappointed with the second book in the Wings of Fire series. I absolutely LOVED the first, but this one just didn't seem to hit the mark. The strange thing is though, I thought that I was going to like this one more because it was going to be from Tsunami's perspective . . . Yeah, no. I seriously considered giving this one a 3 star rating, just because of how much it disappointed me. The only reason I rounded up to 4 is because the first one

Tsunami has escaped from the control of the Talons of Peace with the other dragonets of the prophecy. She is tired of the neverending war between the different dragon factions and wants to finally meet her mother, Queen Coral of the SeaWings, since Tsunami was stolen from the royal nursery as an egg by Webs, who was merely trying to keep the dragonets safe. When Tsunami and the other dragons approach the SeaWing kingdom, Riptide rushes to attack them! Eventually, the misunderstanding is cleared ...more

The action packed, dramatic, and thrilling book that I begged to get after finishing the first in the series is called "Wings of Fire, the Lost Heir." This amazing tale of betrayal, love, and magic was made by 35 year old Tui T. Sutherland. The genre of this book is fantasy, fiction, and action . The genre of this book is fantacy and action, which is perfect for all of you Harry Potter fans. What the story is about is basicaly, a group of five dragons which are labled the dragonets of destiny, g ...more

No second book syndrome here! A great sequel that captured my interest quickly!

This was such a fly through read. I picked it up and breezed through it so quickly and found myself immersed in the story.

I really enjoyed the plot. I wasn't bored at all while reading this. I liked Tsunami's narration very much, she made it interesting to read. I actually didn't mind the love interest here.

A couple things could have been done better, though. Peril was absent, and I'm not sure if the new characters in

Tsunami is coming home---but it isn't quite the homecoming she imagined. Having been raised away from the Seawings, she has little idea how to behave around her own people. Worse, someone has been killing the royal dragonets, and Tsunami is now a target.

Tsunami isn't my favorite of the five dragonets. She's bossy, impulsive, and stubborn, and since most of this book is about her, it took me a while to get engaged. It is also, however, as much a story about her coming to grips with some of her ow

In Tui T. Sutherland’s Wings of Fire, The Lost Heir, Tsunami finds her mother, and found her happy ending, only to find out that someone has been killing her sisters for many years before and after she was born. But when Blister comes into the picture, Tsunami starts to look around for any sign that could lead her to the person behind it. In the meanwhile somebody has put Clay, Glory, Starflight, and Sunny in a cage AS PRISONERS!!!!!!!!! Can Tsunami save the day with her new little sister and fr ...more
Not a bad second installment, but I miss Clay as a narrator. This one is Tsunami-heavy, and even though it is supposed to be her story, I was disappointed in the small amount of page time the other dragonets got. I'm looking forward to Glory's story in the next book!

This is such a fantastic middle grade series so far! I love how each book is told from a different dragonet's perspective, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the third installment.

The Lost Heir was a very strong sequel to The Dragonet Prophecy. It was much more fast paced and suspenseful. I feel like Tsunami is a much more relatable character than Clay, so I really enjoyed reading the story with her thoughts placed in the mix. Queen Coral was a better queen than the others we have seen, but she's still corrupt in her own way. I adored little Anemone as well! The new characters introduced in this book, such as Anemone, Whirlpool, and Riptide, were really well fleshed out a ...more

This is the 2nd book in the Wings of Fire series. Right now there are six books in that series, although the first five books are supposed to be one self contained story with the sixth book starting another 5 book story arc. This book was a pretty easy read and was well written. I still think this series is something kids are going to enjoy a lot more than adults (unlike Sutherland's Menagerie series which I think a much broader range of ages will enjoy).

This book features Tsunami and in it we m
Olivia's Review:

Tsunami is finally going home to the kingdom of the sea. But she doesn't know what mysterious things have been happening, and Queen Coral, Tsunami's mother has had her daughters mysteriously destroyed in their eggs. Tsunami is determined to save the last surviving egg and discovers secrets even her mother didn't know of.

I like the mysteries, they are very strange and can be a bit spooky at times, but also a story filled with magic and fun. I can't wait for the next book, I just

Some of the key problems in this book are, fighting, murder, dragons, and a plan. The theme of this book is to always trust and believe in your friends, even after you get into a fight because they will always be there for you.
Some of the characters are:
Tsunami-narrator- she is judgmental, quick to think and act, and she loves to swim!
Clay- a sweet and sensitive gentle giant who will do anything for his friends, and likes to play in mud.
Sunny- is shy and thoughtful, but yet gets to

Book 2 in the Wings of Fire series. After having escaped their guardians, the Skywing kingdom, and found that Mudwings don't really do families and Clay's mother had sold his egg for 5 cows, the Dragonets of Prophecy have decided to go check out the Seawings realm and search for Tsunami's parents. Tsunami always loved the tale of the Missing Princess who was welcomed home with much fanfare into her families loving arms once she was found. She had no idea Queen C

Wonderful! Beautiful writing, great story! The pacing is good & dialogue is great.

I loved Queen Coral. That poor, poor dragon. I can really understand why she was the way she was. So far, she's my favorite ruler, because she wasn't as flat as the others.

The one draw back though, was tsunami. I found her way to arrogant and egotistical. It wasnt so bad with Clay narrating, but being in her head . . . she's just so full of herself without an actual reason to be. :/ she's not a bad character t

Great book! Fantastic second book to the series!

The thing that I really love about this book is the Prologue and the Epilogue, they talk about secret meetings and stuff the main characters don't know, it's pretty cool! Just one minor flaw in an otherwise flawless book, it was kinda one of those books where you say "Don't go in there," or "Don't do that," in your head, it was kinda predictable.

So, overall, I don't think that the predictability of this book requires me to take away a star so I'll

The Lost Heir by Tui T. Sutherland is the second book in the Wings of Fire series. This book is narrated by the Seawing dragonet Tsunami. She wants to find her mother Queen Coral of the Seawings. This is is awesome because it shows magic dragons and I liked the switch between characters. The first book was narrated by Clay so liked learning more about Tsunami. The one thing I like about both of these books is the change in character. You can definitely tell Tsunami's character changed from begi ...more

Ok this book is amazing. Its full of action, drama, and blood, can't forget the blood. Though there are people who say,"Ha this book is for geeks" Who cares its amazing. In this book you read as the dragonet tsunami as she goes to find her family and the kingdom of the sea. I don't want to spoil anything else because its just a great book, read it.

Tsunami was so passionate about seeing her mother just to have it all crush down on her. I felt really bad for her to find that her mother was slightly crazy but she did the right thing by eventually leaving. It was interesting how the statue guarding the hatchery was animus touched and was attacking the female dragon eggs. Very interesting, crazy, and awesome

This is by no means a perfect book. Neither was the first one in the series. That being said, I enjoy these books so much that I had to give both five stars, regardless of their problems.

Okay, I know what you’re thinking. Tui? What kind of name is that? Is it short for something?

Nope. Among the many great things to come out of New Zealand (the Lord of the Rings movies, cats that paint, my mom) is a bird called the tui—not as well known as the kiwi, but a heck of a lot noisier!

I was born July 31 (same birthday as Harry Potter!) in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived in Asuncion, Paraguay

“There's a tree," Starflight said, jumping to his feet. "In the forest."
"No way," Glory said. "A tree in the forest?”
“He [Riptide] sighed. "I said, 'What are you doing all the way out here?' and you said, 'Hey, sparkling teeth, I totally love three of your claws but not the others, and I wish your nose was a herrig so I could eat it, and also your wings sound like sharks snoring.'"
Tsunami burst out laughing.”
