I loved all of Brock’s (the male lead character) inner-dialogue and thoughts. Plus, I just really liked this character. Some of his reactions to the lead female character Celeste were really funny.

Celeste is portrayed as a strong, independent, resourceful, and smart young women. I loved reading about this character. If you need a break from reading about stupid and needy female characters, then this book

This is an intensely heartfelt novel. Cooper combines the supernatural with real emotions to create something beyond compare. This author paints a vivid picture of the world that she has created. As a reader you’re drawn in and have no desire to escape. It was so intriguing to see the prophecy intertwining with reality in this remarkable tale. It was breathtaking at times.

The characters in this novel were also uniquely developed. As a reader you get to know them as they get to know each other an

The Garnet Dagger is an epic fantasy romance that incorporates historical elements with mythological beings in an enchanting world of love, honor, and lore. Vivid imagery and descriptive passages create an alluring backdrop to this rich, well written, and absorbing tale of elves, dragons, and witches. But don’t be fooled, this is not a children’s fairy tale!

Brock has always had a fascination for humans, and has secretly crossed the barrier to the human realm on more than one occasion. But when

It was cool that the vampires are different, they don't suck blood. Instead they take their souls. It was fun to read with dragons too.

The Garnet Dagger is a great, fast paced read written in the first person. I really enjoyed this new author from Crimson Romance. The Garnet Dagger has an interesting premise and was drawn so clearly I could see everything as it happened. The Elvin hero Brock is cursed after being bitten by a Vampyre and is banished from his home. A prophecy states he must spill the blood of a witch and kill her in order to cure the dying world. But how cruel his fate when the witch, Celeste, turns out to be the ...more

This was a wonderfully written story. I am still new to the fantasy world but I am impressed with how well developed this debut author has made this world. I like to read stories that I can visualize in my head and this one allowed it.
I am not a huge Elvin fan, but I am anxious to see where she takes Brock and Celeste. I recommend everyone check out this new author if you are a Fantasy lover!

"The Garnet Dagger" is a compelling Elvin, Vampyre story that has intrigue, passion, and action without being so graphic that it leaves nothing for your imagination to create it's own visualization.

My Initial Reaction...
More than anything, I was swept away by the creativity of this book. Cooper satisfies your expectations, by giving you elves, vampires (which she spells vampyre), and witches but then she topples those expectations by making each fantasy creature so different from anything you've read

Andrea R. Cooper’s debut novel, The Garnet Dagger, is an enthralling paranormal romance with strong elements of fantasy too. The author does a masterful job of building her own unique world where elves, witches, demons and dragons are the norm. Using first person point of view, Cooper tells this dramatic story through the eyes of Brock Rashwe an Elvin.

After being bitten by a vampire, Brock transforms into the Reaper of Death. Unfortunately, Broc

The story is written in first person narrative, which is always a different write. Add in that the person doing the talking is Brock, an Elf who has a fascination with the humans, but apparently not a firm grasp on the language. For me, as a self-proclaimed "grammar-Nazi," this was very difficult to read, but I understand the literary tool as it is

The author hurls you headfirst into this fast paced fantasy of mythical creatures, blood lust prophesies and captivating lovers. The Elvin hero, Brock, has been turned by a vampyre and must spill the blood of a witch to halt the creeping rot that kills his land and people. But the woman he loves is signalled by the garnet dagger to be the witch he must kill.

Not only did the plot and characters hold me riveted but the unique writing style, different from any I have read in the past, had my heart
Cursed by a vampire, Brock is changed from his Elvin self into a Vaer. Tainted he is forced out of his land after an unfortunate incident led to a death. Now on a journey to fulfill a prophesy, Brock must find a witch and draw blood. Celeste is a witch who Brock happens upon and there is just something about her that has him captivated. Unsure if she is the witch he will be forced to kill or if by chance be the one to change everything Brock thought he knew.

I read the blurb for this book and thought, hey, this book sounds different--a vampire/elf. And man, this book was different in an excellent way. I really enjoyed the characters and their adventures.

If you are a fan of elves and vampires, this book is a must read. Actually, it is a must read for all readers of romance.

His transformation into a creature of death, heralds the beginning of the end for him and his people. So the story starts out with Brock, who is an Elf, who is getting married to another elf, and life is pretty good. But his human curiosities turn into his biggest mistake. This story is one of those where when you have something bad happen to you, you shouldn’t give up everything, because sometimes it’s to give you something better than what you would have had before. This is the case. Brock gets cursed when he helps a “human” in distress, who is actually a vampire, who literally takes Brock’s e ...more

The Garnet Dagger is fantastical, richly detailed, wonderfully written and awesomely thought out. I loved it!

The writing is in a word - wonderful. I love all of the detail, it's rich without ever being overwhelming. So often throughout the story Andrea R. Cooper did such an amazing job with setting the scene and describing what was happening that I felt like I was along for the ride with Brock and Celeste. The world building was awesome, and transported me to a world that had a feeling of being

Brock is an elf. Or he was an elf, until he encounters a vampire, waiting in a trap for an unsuspecting human. The elf is changed, turned into the bringer of death, or of salvation if he can find and kill a virgin witch.

Celeste is that witch. Imprisoned, her power kept in check by her captor, chance brings them together. By the time Brock realizes that she's the witch he's meant to kill, his feelings for her have him conflicted. Can he kill her and save his lands and his family? Or would killin

Brock is an elf who is fascinated by humans. So much so, that he has observed them for many of his years and has learned much of their language and ways. But when he encounters one suddenly on his way back home from travelling to yet another human village, he cannot suspect the trouble that will come of their meeting.

The human, much to Brock’s surprise, is a vampyre, and it seems that Brock’s life may soon be at an end when the vampyre begins to feed from him. However, something strange begins t

Andrea has always enjoyed creating characters and stories. But it wasn't until she was in her late twenties that she started writing novels.

What happened that ignited the writing flame in her fingers? Divorced, and disillusioned by love songs and stories. They exaggerate. She thought. Love and Romance are not like that in the real world. Then she met her husband and realized, yes love and romance
