I have been teaching using this book for coming up to three years now. A new edition came out last year, the third one. I continue to be relatively underwhelmed generally. This book and its associated workbook are full of errors, and there seem to be more in the new edition. I am constantly frustrated with the way the book introduces and explains certain ideas and concepts, especially in the way these are exemplified. It's grossly inadequate. I hope they have the next edition edited thoroughly, and that includes the resources, not just the text itself. There are numerous anomalies and differences between text represented in the book versus the online resources. This is also a very expensive book and frankly I don't think it's worth the cost. I think one of the best elements is the Fotoromanzo, although I wish they'd update it because at the moment it's like something out of the 90s and that makes it somewhat difficult for the students to relate to. How this book is the chosen text in many North American universities is completely beyond me.
