WOW! Where to begin? Carrie has done it again! I could actually feel the hurt & pain Melody was experiencing. As a retired military wife, I so understand the loneliness & isolation you feel when your husband is deployed in harms way. Add to that life & death situations & the isolation explodes into sheer panic, whether its your child or yourself.

I cried through this book, so that tells me I was pulled into the story & felt the emotions of the characters - which is what a

Saying I enjoyed Romancing Melody is an understatement.

Often, I judge whether a book or movie was good by measuring how it impacts me afterwards. Am I still thinking about it? Chewing on it? Processing it? Did it touch my heart? It’s safe to say that in the days after finishing Romancing Melody, its grip on me is still incredibly strong.

Carrie has created a town that is as real to me as anyplace I’ve ever been. The people, their lives, the interactions are all so vivid. What I wouldn’t give for

Melody is married to Ryan's friend David. David is in the Special Forces and they live in NC. Melody and David have a baby. Shortly after he is born David is sent to Afghanistan. This is where the vagueness begins. Stuff happens, big stuff, stuff Melody can't handle on her own. People in her life remind her that God loves her, but Melody is not so sure.

After stuff happens Melody goes to Crossing for a few weeks. (With or without David - you will have to read to find out!) While she is there more

Romancing Melody is the 3rd book in the Crossing Series by Carrie Dawes. We are briefly introduced to Melody in Ryan's Crossing, the 2nd book in the series. Melody is a young wife of a military man living at Fort Bragg, NC. Life as a military wife is not as she had expected. My breath was taken away several times as Melody journeyed through her husband being deployed when their baby was young. Tragedy strikes and she is faced with making some tough decisions. She finds comfort in places she ...more

This was a 'page turner' for me as I followed Melody's tragic story and amazing return back to life. I gained insight into army deployment and those who are left behind to cope, make decisions and manage their emotions, family and emergencies. I enjoyed reading many useful answers to questions about life, loss, returning to joy and encountering God after great tragedy. I highly recommend this book. It is the 3rd book in the CROSSING series. by Carrie Daws. I think it is the best book in this ...more

This is book three of the Crossing series. I have read the first two and loved every moment. This one did not disappoint. Carrie has a way of making each character come alive. The setting is so real you can smell the pine woods and see the log homes. Melody experiences a tremendous heartbreak and questions the actions of God. As time goes on and with the help of friends and family she realizes that God has a beautiful plan in place. The end is not the end but leaves you questioning what happens ...more

Once I started reading the it was hard for me to put the book down. Wow! The story of Melody and her husband David was so heart breaking. Anyone who reads this will have to ready for the water works! The spiritual warfare that Melody was going through was something I think a lot of people could relate to. The message was so loud and clear. That even though many things happen to us even not the best, God is there for us in all of it. All we have to do is put our FULL trust in Him and lean into ...more

I enjoyed following the family that the book is about and each new adventure that they go through with the help of God and family.

Melody Podell is about to undergo the biggest test of her faith. Delivering her son, Cole at 35 weeks left him with under developed lungs and had to spend extra time in the hospital until he could breathe on his own. Now that Melody has moved in to the Army Housing at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to be close to her husband David who has left for a four month deployment. Her family lives in California and she feels odd making friends with the other Army wives. She feels she can only call them if ...more

Carrie Daws' book, Romancing Melody, is fantastic. The word "Wow!" kept coming to my mind while I was reading it. I was instantly pulled into the story through her detailed descriptions and rich imagery and the likable characters. Reflecting how difficult military life can be for those deployed and those left at home, Carrie did an excellent job showing us how many sacrifices our servicemen and women make to keep our country safe.

The kindness and patience with which the other characters treat

Romancing Melody ~ A Crossing Journey~ by Carrie Daws
Romancing Melody the 3rd book in A Crossing Journey series is out of this world. I loved this book and the whole series. Melody and David Podell face a tragedy, military deployment, being away from family and friends all while questioning God. There faith is pushed to the limits. And they need answers to the hard life changing questions, is He trustworthy, how can He love me and allow tragedy. Having faced a similar loss, this book ready hit

First of all I knew this was going to be another big hit when I read the first paragraph! I loved it from the beginning to the end. We go back to Crossing after Melody and her husband are faced with tragedy and they have to decide if they will trust God during this time in their lives. All the favorite characters from the other books are in this one and they help Melody deal with her pain. This book is one that may make you cry, laugh and just say I can totally relate! Carrie did another AWESOME ...more

Another great book by Carrie Daws. The lessons to learn in this book. Melody had a hard path to see where god wanted her. Her faith I believe was tested. Like most of us I think we put our faith in ourselves or other people or things. Where our faith should lie is with Jesus. Was a tearful story about loss but yet she found her true peace. Her husband David also had lessons to learn. Where did God truly want him? I love the families in this series and look forward to each book and the lesson ...more

Romancing Melody is a heartwarming story that draws you into the lives of a loving couple who question their faith when tragedy strikes. The characters are real and full of emotions we all share. You laugh with them, cry with them, and feel their pain. But, the characters also learn to trust God in the midst of their questions and turn to His Word for answers. Carrie has written a wonderful story that helps her readers relate to the characters in the book and apply God's love to their own lives. ...more

Wonderful Christian book that had me in tears of sadness and then tears of happiness. The biblical verses used for these unique circumstances could be used for any and all types of loss.

Over the years, God rewrote Carrie’s dreams to include being a stay-at-home mom and a writer. She started by writing weekly devotions online before a mentor at the Christian Writer’s Guild encouraged her to try fiction.

After almost ten years in the military, Carrie’s husband medically retired and they now live in North Carolina with their three children. Besides writing fiction novels, she stays
