I didn't know much about Ed Barrett before reading Rub Out, but apparently he lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is a senior lecturer in writing at MIT. Here's the blurb from the back of the book:

I love all three sections range from long poems to a sequence of prose poems. While some sections are stronger than others, I love the range and depth from narrative to lyrical takes on a character's life offered in this book.
