Served its purpose when I took the ASTB (Aviation Selection Test Battery) as part of my Navy Officers application: I knew relatively little on topics of physics and related ideas and felt some preparation on the mathematics and verbal section would benefit me.

Score most people aim for on it is 50 or better, which I achieved a 48 on. (Think perfect score was 70 or 80, as something of an odd scoring system. Looking around on facebook at the time, as unsure how good that was, someone else who was looking to take the same Navy course as I had received a 46 on it.) You are only allowed to take this test three times in your lifetime and my officer recruiter thought it satisfactory.

Unfortunately the military these days apparently has too many applicants to its officer programs, so my application went nowhere. (Technically incomplete, as I was never sent to take the physical.)
