The Ageless Spirit

Rate this book
Is aging a fact of life? Or is it the fulfillment of life? Is aging a curse? Or is it a blessing? In her celebrated National Public Radio series "I'm Too Busy to Talk Now," Connie Goldman explored these questions with scores of prominent creative people over seventy. Now, in The Ageless Spirit, Phillip L. Berman, editor of the highly praised The Courage to Grow Old, has worked with Goldman to fashion the best of these interviews into brilliant and inspiring essays. The result is a treasury of humor and profundity, dazzling wit and hard-earned wisdom, by some of the most fascinating and gifted men and women of our times.

Just an array of experiences to reflect upon. Tidbits of wisdom shared which are only able to be extracted from a rich life lived with endless moments to highlight those very things they speak about and confirm. If you do get your hands on this rare find, please give it the light of day and read it to greatly benefit your morale and increase your learning potential. We are creator beings, full of light.

I picked this book up at a White Elephant. The subtitle is “Reflections on living life to the fullest in our later years from: M.F.K. Fisher, Studs Terkel, Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, Stanley Kunitz, John Cage, Jason Robards, Rollo May and many others. Many of these people, I think 40 in all, I hadn’t heard of, but the stories were inspiring, in many different ways. I think I will keep this book and possibly read it or at least refer to it again.
