This is a MUST in every primary classroom. It is exactly what it claims to be, 'an illustrated science dictionary'. The book goes through almost, if not all, the science terminology a child in primary education will need to understand. The definitions are simple, concise and straightforward, along with illustrations and useful examples that aid the more visual learners. There are also many internet links which children, parents and teachers can access to help deepen the child's understanding of a particular concept.
Children can use this dictionary as a template to make their own science dictionaries- teachers could encourage children at the end of every lesson to list all the key terms for that lesson and then, like in this dictionary, come up with clear and concise definitions as well as examples and illustrations to show their understanding.
