Aardige geschiedenis van het parlement in vogelvlucht. Inclusief een bladertour voor degenen die geen zin hebben in een echte. Meer dan dat ze bij de studie aanboden... (SAD)
The HoP's Guidebook is very, very worth your time, a great coverage of the development of Parliamentary democracy and the artwork and symbolism and history that is encrusted over every inch of Westminster.
This is an excellent guidebook to the Palace of Westminster, the building which is home to Great Britain’s parliament with origins in the 11th century. There is a section on the history of the site, a description of the rooms and art that may be seen on a public tour of the building, and some additional information about the important heritage of the site. The book is filled with beautiful photographs that are the next best things to visiting in person, and the text, while not particularly thorough on any topic (it is rather brief) is packed with facts, personalities, relevant historical anecdotes, and just a great sense of the culture of the place. It has several maps, a timeline, and an extensive list of artwork throughout the Palace. This is a great accompaniment to an in-person visit to the Palace or, if you can’t go, a lovely introduction to it.
