Well, Beauty From Pain absolutely blew me away and I fell hard for Jack Henry. I was completely desperate to get my hands on the sequel after that cliffhanger. I was fully invested in these two and really needed them to find the happiness that they both deserve together.

This one picks up pretty much where we left them – separated by several thousand miles and the Pacific Ocean. Laurelyn has returned to America and Jack has absolutely no idea how to find her. After a disastrous and eye-opening at

I just finished re-reading this book and came up here to change my rating.

I REALLY didn't like this book, not a bit.

It felt like the same author, who wrote book 1 hasn't written this. It was so narrative type this book. No feels and emotions I could connect with. The dialogues felt forced. L's attitude was getting on my nerves, her mother's even more. It was a badly written book with hardly any story to it. It could have easily been blended into book 1 and the third book and made a nice duet se

Looks like this will be going into my "Everyone loved it BUT me" pile.

I was ready to love this book. I really enjoyed the last half of the first one and after the crazy cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to read this. This book...I just...I can't...I think...I'm at a loss for words for what I think. Truthfully, I'm stumped here, so let me try and sum it up the best I could.

'Beauty from surrender' picks right up from where we were left hanging with the mother of all cliff hangers in 'beauty from pain'. Yes, for months we have been waiting for answers and they are finally here. The author combines gut wrenching anticipation, and true love yearning in this much anticipated follow up.

Meet the characters ...
Laurelyn Prescott is still as loveable as ever. Feisty, talented but broken over her separation, we are shown the survivor side of our heroine. L

Beauty from Surrender takes place right where Beauty from Pain left off. If you haven’t read Beauty from Pain I highly recommend it! It left me shocked, and a bit distraught. Just a quick summary: We have Jack Henry and Laurelyn-

After a ‘3 month arrangement’ while Laurelyn is in Australia, they fall in love with one another. Well, Laruelyn admits to loving Jack, but the truth is Jack Henry is just not in a place to admit his feelings. So Laurelyn takes of

SERIES INFORMATION UPDATE!! I just asked the author about her plans for the series and here's what she said about it:

"I gave Beauty from Surrender a conclusion for the readers not interested in another book but there will be a third installment. I'm undecided about the length-novel or novella–but I love this couple so much, I'd be surprised if I went with a novella."

PS - This is already live on Amazon and Smashwords already :)

This second book starts immediately after the end of the first. Laurelyn is arriving at US, running away from Australia without leaving any form of contact, and Jack is coming home early, ready to tell her what he feels just to find her gone without a goodbye.
He tries to forget her but he soon realizes that he can’t so he hires a private investigator to find her in the US. Since he only knows her first name is not an easy job and is a task that will take three months.

After that cliffy ending to Beauty From Pain, I couldn't wait to dive into this one. This book starts off right after Laurelyn moves back to the States. She doesn't say goodbye to Jack Henry...she just can't bear to see him say goodbye. This first part was a bit frustrating for me as it takes a while for him to find her. I was under the impression with the amount of money at his disposal, this would not be that difficult. But anyways...... The pacing of the firs

I f'king LOVED LOVED LOVED this!!

So sad to say goodbye to Jack Henry and does sound like Georgia plans another novel or novella sometime later on but not in the near future and I'm ok with that. I love where their story ended here. This story of them coming together and fighting for the love they had for each other was beautiful and so very VERY hot... Jack Henry is a man like no other.

I highly recommend this series; it's amazing....

Ladies, prepare to have Jack Henry melt your panties off! If it is even possible I am more in love with him now then I was before! He is simply amazing and such a wonderful man in Beauty From Surrender. Everything I loved about him in Beauty From Pain just multiplies in BFS and he is seriously the perfect guy. He is caring, LOVING, mature, sexy, rich, he is just EVERYTHING that is perfection. He might just be my ALL TIME book boyfriend, yep, that

I struggled a bit with this book and though I did like it, it was nothing like Beauty from Pain which I loved a lot.
Laurelyn & Jack still remain one of my favorite couples and in the previous story and I loved the story line…filled with angst, hot chemistry…I couldn't wait for me to get more of these two totally lovable characters.

This is another for the "everyone loves it but me" shelf. Once again, I just couldn't really connect with Jack or Laurelyn. There were some things I really enjoyed -some very sweet lines, and sexy scenes, but for most of the book it felt like a lot of sex, and ALMOST drama leading up to an inevitable, and unexciting conclusion.

I did appreciate that the author didn't go down (or at least not very far down) some of the drama roads she set up. There were a few that I was SURE where going to hap

Thank God that's over.

I did not see the point of this book. If Ms. Cates wanted to give Jack and Laurelyn their HEA I think an epilogue would've sufficed. My main problem with this book is that THE MAIN PROBLEM was resolved so early in the story that it just went downhill from there. And don't even argue that the main conflict in this book was Jack vs. Laurelyn's career. It wasn't. Ever since Beauty From Pain, I never felt Laurelyn's devotion to music as a car

All right, I can't believe I am about to say this, but....there was a bit too much down 'n dirty going on and not enough STORY. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the heck out of the erotic parts of a good book, but it seemed like this was JUST sex and the rest kind of filler.

Laurelyn and Jack Henry are one of my favorite book couples and I absolutely loved their story in Beauty from pain. The plot was so dazzling and enthralling while the dynamic between the two of them was witt

awesome novel!!

Book 1 left me in a haze... I was like 'what the fuck, i have to wait for months... and i hate endings like this, why the hell did I read this?' Well, it was worth the wait.

There are awesome books out there, but there are some that only after a few days, a few weeks, and especially months after reading the book, when you read the title, you can't remember what the story is about, but book 1... I still remember lots of things...

A Teaser from Jack's POV:

As I’m leaving the kitchen I hear Mrs. Porcelli call my name, “Mr. McLachlan?”
I turn and see a look of uncertainty in my housekeeper’s eyes – as if she’s searching for the right words to say to me. “Yes?”

She’s wringing her hands like she’s nervous and my curiosity is peaked. “I didn’t know if I should say anything or not but I decided I thought you had the right to know.”

I read Beauty From Pain almost two years ago and I absolutely loved it. After doing an audio re-read of it, I decided it was the perfect time to continue on with Jack Henry and Laurelyn’s story. Unfortunately, Beauty From Surrender was just okay for me.

At the end of Beauty From Pain, Laurelyn leaves Australia and Jack Henry without a goodbye, desperately in love with him and thinking her feelings were unrequited. When Jack Henry discovers her gone, he’s
