Rachel Hermans Goldman
New favorite short story collection.

These characters stay with you long after the stories are over. Perfectly formed little worlds are meticulously and deliciously drawn. There is a quiet and true way in which Brown writes and I found so much meaning in these snapshots of daily lives.. I look forward to reading Little Sinners. She is a master short story teller and now one of my favourites, up there with Lorrie Moore.

Good stories. It won the Grace Paley prize. There was a similarity in stories--women were always smoking, sexy, and men were always slipping hands here and there. Some stories were well-written and compelling.
Elizabeth Brown
Stunning descriptions of settings and characters. The stories are subtle yet poignant as Karen Brown reaches in and pulls out the many facets of being a woman in modern society--beautifully crafted!
