By day, Weston Davies designs mascots for Sanderson Designs and avoids the new productivity consultant, Sidney Romero, who has been hired to ensure maximum efficiency. In the evenings, Weston writes. Fantasy, detective stories, science fiction-he's tried it all, and he isn't very good. All his attempts are riddled with cliches, and his characters become mouthpieces for sca ...more

3.25 stars. Nice story about the adorkable Weston who creates mascots for a design company, and the misunderstood Productivity Specialist, Simon, who is bought in to streamline their business. Weston is a frustrated writer in his spare time, suffering from writer's block. But once the handsome Simon arrives his dreams become rich with inspirational characters and complex stories. This is where the book faltered a little for me. The dream sequences were too randomly placed in the story and overly ...more

This is not your typical M/M romance and the reader should know this going in. Weston is a designer for a mascot company who is an aspiring novelist at night. He doesn't lack ideas but he does lack the correct words to put on paper (or computer screen). Not long after a productivity consultant, Sidney (aka The Leech), begins working for the same company, Weston begins having detailed dreams that tell real stories with Sidney as the hero in each. These dreams give Weston plenty of ideas for the b ...more

A Joyfully Jay Review

Weston Davies aspires to write a great novel – one of great meaning, one that breaks the mold, one that he can actually finish. Weston has a ton of ideas for stories but once he sits in front of his computer to begin writing, either stereotypical dribble comes out or he’s unable to write altogether. It’s a good thing he has a full time job to pay the bills.

Working for Sanderson Designs as a mascot costume designer has always been a decent job in a laid back work en

I am deeply confused with this book. It was good, it was, but no one will ever say this is the classic, stereotypical romance. And how very ironic that is.

As the blurb says, Weston, a designer by day aspired author by night, is having rough time writing. His attempts end up being all cliché and stereotypes. He has the ideas, but he fails putting them with words. And to top it all, Sidney, the new productivity consultant, invades his dreams. As Weston’s feelings for Sidney changes, so does the dr

I have to put the disclaimer up: I had the privilege of reading this book during the writing/editing stages. Robin is my partner (writing and otherwise), and so I won't be adding my star rating to this out of fairness.

This is a completely surprising, unique take on an average story of boy meets boy. Weston is a slightly neurotic artist (who has lost his spark) with dreams of being a writer. Only he sucks. Badly. None of his work seems to have any inspiration behind it; it gets mired down in cli

I have to admit that when I first started reading The Royal Road, I got half way through Chapter One and put it down. The book started with two separate stories and I was confused. The next day I picked the book back up, and fell in love. There are parallel stories going on throughout the tale. And it is very fun.

Weston is an artist who designs mascots. He dreams of being a writer. Problem is, what he writes is crap. Enter Sidney, a consultant hired by the firm where Weston works to improve prod

Cute, sweet little story. I liked the use of the stories, and the dreams.

Weston designs mascots for a living, but has dreams of being a writer. Sidney is a productivity consultant brought in by the mascot company, Sanderson Designs, to assess the business and make recommendations.
Of course the staff are suspicious of Sidney and believe he’s out to shut them down, he’s quiet and keeps to himself, which does not help the perception the staff have of him. And Weston is willing to agree with them at first, until Sidney suggests they go for lunch, which turns out is partl

Going to have to take some time later to solidify my thoughts about this. When I reread, I might up the star rating. It was good, solid, but the weaving in and out with the stories didn't quite work for me. It was good, but I have high expectations for Robin Saxon, so the fact that I regard her well actually lowered the rating, oddly enough.

When I read the first few pages I thought wow amazing, I liked Stephen, sexy and one bit hilarious and then I understood that was one dream of Weston,ok , but the protagonist dreams a lot and the story is become boring for me.Beautiful cover,by the way

I liked it. It was a mellow read. I did enjoy the 'stories' within the story. I liked both MC's. I am gonna check out more by Robin Saxon.

Additional thoughts, I laughed a lot with this book. It isn't laugh out loud more of a chuckle however I was chuckling a lot.

Вестон просто покорил моё сердце. Такая лапочка. Сны немного затянуты и можно было без них обойтись, но секс в конце все исправил. Заинтересовалась автором.
