It can be difficult to find truly indulgent vegan desserts -- especially chocolate. But for the first time, chocolate cakes, brownies, truffles, puddings, ice creams, and more are within reach: dairy-free, organic, fair-trade, and sublime.

I loved this book. As a vegan, its sometimes difficult to find specific baking books. When I got this one, I flipped through the entire thing. Then, when done, I went right back and read it from cover to cover. I have only made one recipe so far, the Chocolate Brownies, which were fabulous. I have marked a number of others I want to make. Some recipes are very involved and some are pretty simple. I would highly suggest this book if you want to increase your baking and chocolate skills.

Although I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, and will update my review once I do, this is such a fantastic resource for anyone that can't have dairy or egg. I especially appreciated that for once a vegan cookbook didn't rely solely on soy!! I am at the stage where I am so discouraged when I open any vegan cookbook and every recipe has soy in it. I understand soy is a fantastic option for people who have to or choose to eat vegan, but for someone who can't have any soy, dairy, or egg because ...more

This book is beautifully done with gorgeous photos and scrumptious-like recipes I would love to try. However, there are many foods I cannot do if I follow a vegan-strict diet that I have been researching about and prefer to purchase these foods than bake or make them.

Beautifully produced book, with swoon-inducing photography worthy of the recipes. Can't wait to explore further. (The brownies are To. Die. For.) Thank you, Fran, for your meticulous, comprehensive tribute to everyone's favorite indulgence, with recipes all folks can all enjoy. Fabulous! ...more

Milk, dark or riddled with nuts – it’s hard to find a single person who’s day isn’t made better with a little chocolate! With hundreds, if not thousands, of ways to enjoy the gift of the cacao tree, chocolate is arguably one of the most versatile foods in nature. What would the world be like without a chocolate chip cookie, a chunk of chocolate fudge birthday cake, a bow

I'm not the hugest fan of chocolate (I know!), but my husband is addicted to the flavour, so I bought this book on a whim. I'm not vegan either but I don't cook with eggs (Lacto vegetarian) so I'm always on the lookout for good vegan baking books that provide egg free (but delicious) recipes, and this book IS IT.

It's a gorgeous cook book - the pictures are beautiful, and there are just SO many recipes! None of them use weird ingredients/ egg replacers, and Fran Costigan's little intros to each

If you use the sweep method, you are not a baker.

If you use the sweep method, you are not a baker.

I had high hopes for this book as the sample looked promising.

Alas, when I discovered how this apparently formally trained cook/baker measured her ingredients, my hopes were dashed and I was reminded, yet again, why I do not normally purchase cookery books by American authors: baking using slip shod methods such as dipping and sweeping is fraught with inaccuracies and is just sloppy workmanship when

A beautiful book I picked up at the Library. I am sorry to say I haven't yet made any of the recipes since it is now due to go back, but they look easy to follow and how can you go wrong with chocolate! Loved the layout/presentation of this book. ...more

Some of these recipes are a bit complicated or ask for exotic/expensive ingredients. There are gems inside, though, that are simple, delicious, and contain only on-hand or at least easy-to-find ingredients.

Yumm, all the same.
