Попри те, що книга обіцяє розповідати про ідентичність, це не зовсім зовсім так. Перший розділ дає загальний огляд розуміння ідентичності в соціальних науках загалом та в дискурс-аналізі зокрема. Це був найцінніший для мене розділ, оскільки дозволяє перейти від макро- до мікро-. Подальший виклад має на меті ілюструвати, як ідетничність вибудовується з допомогою різних мовних засобів. Втім, саме тут в авторок стається "збій" і місцями книга починає більше нагадувати підручник з аналізу дискурсу. В якусь мить важко збагнути, чим "Повседневный разговор" відрізняється від Разговорный дискурс. Интерпретации и практики. Структура в обох книг різна, але суть дуже і дуже подібна. Загалом, ці дві книги варто читати разом, бо деякі моменти з "Повсякденних розмов" незрозумілі, якщо не прочитати "Розмовний дискурс".

На жаль, з другої половини книги в мене геть зник інтерес до неї: авторки розповідають про аналіз дискурсу (як в "Розмовному дискурсі"), але на прикладі ідентичності. Проте вони не дуже розрізняють особисту та колективну ідентичність, а тому текст подекуди справляє враження хаотичного і неструктурованого: про дискурс вийшло гарно, а про ідентичності - не дуже.

Але читати варто - особливо тим, хто займається якісними дослідженнями ідентичностей.
