Peter Winston is the "Breast Man".

 photo tumblr_mhxg153cmz1qkulzco1_500_zpsb5cccb82.gif

The men of Kensington & Associates have come together at Tyler Winterman's high-end BDSM club The Zone to bid goodbye to Peter Winston, a captain in the National Guard, who will soon head off to Afghanistan for his second tour. Forgive me, while I have a little moment here. Tyler, you classy gentleman…I heart you. *dreamy sigh* Tyler is the hero of Ice Queen and Mirror of My Soul.
Tyler lets Peter casually know that a very specific black beauty is interested to get acquainted with him. Has your curiosity been peaked, Peter? Definitely. Much to his surprise though, Dana is an Army Sergeant.

"Well, seeing as I'm a captain, I outrank you."

"If you're falling, trust me to catch you, Sergeant."

After enjoying a very erotic, wet (in every sense of the word) and utterly satisfying play, duty calls and they go their separate ways. Though Peter cannot get her out of his mind and decides to see her off at the airport.

"I hate this." His jaw flexed. "I want to keep you safe."
Giving him a smile, she picked up his other hand, opened it. She bent his middle and index fingers inward, leaving the other fingers straight. Tapping those two fingers on her chest, she curled her hand over his. Her fist barely covered his, but she squeezed him hard nevertheless.
"That's the sign language for heart. You'll hold my heart safe until I see you again." She swallowed, whispered the next word, "Master."

Peter promises to stay in touch, and they agree to see each other again in a year--hopefully, if nothing intervenes. But when the time comes, things have changed beyond his imagination. Dana has been severely injured in the line of duty. She has lost her sight and is partially deaf (no spoiler, read the blurb). And to make matters worse, she is badly scarred and has lost every interest to make a serious attempt at finding back to a somewhat 'normal' life.

"I've cared for many soldiers since my husband. I have no degree in psychology. Sometimes I think all that learning can interfere with seeing with your heart, using your common sense. But I do know when they lose interest in everything, turn so deep inside themselves that not even the ones who love them most can reach them, they're already in the grave." Her voice wavered, old shadows rising in her eyes, but she firmed her chin.
"Dana is like that in so many ways, except for this. You are her one lifeline, Peter. For the chance that it can save her, I will risk throwing that line to you, a man I only know through these letters, but who has come to me and spoken from his heart."

Peter, however, is not willing to accept her listless condition. He wants the passionate and strong woman back. Therefore he is ready to fight his most important war and defeat is not an option.

"I don't want to win the battle, Dana. I want to take the field, win the war. When I make love to you in this bed, it's going to be because you've accepted you're with the man and the Master you want for the rest of your life."

"Damn it, I can't…"
"Yeah." He touched her neck carefully, cupped the side of it, then squeezed, hard. "Yeah, sweetheart, you can. But you need help."

 photo tumblr_mibzutn32w1rmx3soo1_500_zpsd685d6a7.gif

"It's all right, sweetheart," he said roughly. "I've got you. I'm not letting you go."
"You can't…I'm already gone."

 photo tumblr_m3oci0uNiT1rv2gxvo1_500_zps8e8210eb.gif

"Heart and head. That's all you need to heal, Dana. The rest doesn't matter. It's just skin. You're beautiful to me, inside and out."

"You can't see, or hear as well as you could before. But you can smell, taste…touch. If you've been dreaming about me the way I've been dreaming about you, I know exactly what you've been thinking about. We're going to start there."

 photo tumblr_mjggh4qZWA1s0nzhno1_500_zpsddadb9c3.gif

She was broken into a hundred pieces, and couldn't see to pick any of them up. But he could see every one of them. He would figure out how to bring them back together. Pressing his face into the side of her head, he squeezed his lids tight, not wanting to let unmanly tears fall when her screams became sobs, a keening wail of pain.

 photo tumblr_mfgfsdzdoT1s182gdo1_500_zps12f5b968.gif

"You've lost your sight, some of your hearing. You haven't lost your brain, your sense of touch, smell, your inner strength. Your soul."
(…)
"Every time a soldier goes into battle, he's believing in something more than his physical body. Whether he calls it God, luck or his own damn gut, he does. The body's a crutch, sweetheart."

Honor Bound is a prime example why I adore Joey's work and one of the best novellas I've read. This is an A-mazing and profound ride that really captivates body and soul. 134 pages of pure beauty, dedication, courage, pain, anger, fear, and self-doubts. But when everything is stripped away--every layer of doubt, mistrust and fear--all there remains are two individuals who give one another hope, strength and the conviction that a deep-rooted love can weather any storm. There's no holding back anymore.

 photo tumblr_mjfl70yUao1qffcrao1_500_zpsb10a2802.gif

Look at this gif. It depicts a strong man. Peter is full of physical and emotional strength. A man also who was honor bound to protect, cherish and love his woman. Dana. Besides, he was honor bound to take care of her heart. Through his strength and persistence he gave her much needed support, so that she could see beyond her handicaps. Physically she won't ever be the same, however, internally Dana is the same strong woman. All she needed was someone to show her that she is still beautiful, someone who pointed her in the right direction and told her that life is worth living.

Matt had given Dana a safe word a long time ago. Freedom. Honor Bound depicts Dana's journey to claim back her freedom, living her dreams and achieving ambitious goals despite her handicaps. Never ever give up even though it's a hard and difficult path but incredibly rewarding in the end because it's true. Love soars.

If I told you I started falling in love with you the first moment I saw you, the kind of fall that could turn into a long, spiraling lifetime of love worth having, it would scare you to death, wouldn't it? So I won't say it. I'll just think it.

I have a little crush on Peter. In fact, he is an exceptional hero and wormed his way into my heart in secret. Even though he is determined and strict, the man is a picture of incredible gentleness. With all these attributes and an indomitable will, he brought Dana back on her feet and she trusted him enough to let him into her heart. Moreover, she trusted him enough to take care of her. In any event, she took a leap of faith and Peter persuaded her to consider ways and means how to shape her new life that wasn't any less worthwhile.

Gosh, I'm in a puddle at Peter's feet myself. Get a grip, Baba.

 photo tumblr_mj5kb4CPXG1r6vsrko1_500_zpsee595d23.gif

"If I'd known it was going to be the last time I was going to see you…"
"It wasn't." Cupping her hands, he pressed them harder to him. "If you let me into your soul, let yourself be inside mine, you'll always see me more clearly than anyone."

 photo tumblr_miwvg1Ug8g1rbgv4do1_500_zpsb1a6b391.gif

It goes without saying that Joey's writing is very expressive and beautiful and she never fails to evoke depth and plenty of emotions in her stories. In any event, she is a true erotica goddess and I bow to her.

From the very beginning I felt drawn to the characters which are multilayered, likable as well as authentic. A well thought out plot, fabulous dialogue and enough mesmerizing erotic scenes provided an all around captivating read. Even though I felt that I needed a good cry now and then, the story ends very hopeful and…happy.

Honor Bound can be read as a stand-alone.

Last but not least I am so glad that I gave the Knights series another try. In fact, I was very apprehensive to read Honor Bound since I highly disliked Hostile Takeover and Afterlife. I've read the teaser of Willing Sacrifice which will be released May 1, 2013 and I can't wait to get my mouth fingers on Max and Janet's story. Max is another gentleman. A male miracle of pure class.

Read it. It's a gem.

"I'm honor bound to stand by the woman I love," he responded.

Warning
Honor Bound contains explicit sex (including oral). Also, it contains bondage, spanking and toys to a reasonable extent and one public play scene.
The erotic scenes are tastefully written.

P.S. A shout out to my GR friend Glamdring. Thank you very much for nudging me over the edge. I needed that. <3

My love affair with the sexy, charismatic knights continued with Peter and Dana's story...

Honor Bound is about hope, faith and trust. It demonstrates beautifully how people’s tastes and desires need to reflect one another for their ultimate connection in life with another soul.

Dana’s pretty hardcore in her preferences and she needs to find a particular type of Dom to fulfill her desires. She’s caring and selfless and extremely courageous….. She just needs to find her trust in life and another person.

Enter Peter. Each Knight of the Board Room has their own special, sexual talent and preference. Peter. LOVES. Boobs. He worships them and knows exactly how to use his hands, mouth and other things to give spectacular pleasure to a lady.

But, Dana and Peter can only be together for one night because they both have military duties that will keep them away for a year. For now, they have to rely on fate…. And maybe a little help from the knights.

There are letters involved….. My heart melted with the beauty.

She’s irrevocably wounded.

Joey W. Hill always presents strong characters who often have issues to deal with, but they all do it with grit, determination and courage.

My senses were pleasured with exquisite writing, mirroring the heightened feelings experienced by the heroine as a result of her loss.

There were times the story brought a wave of emotion to me. The heros in this series have a wonderful way of sweeping their soul mates off their feet. They say things that make me swoon and reach deep inside of my book heart.

The Knights blow me away with their brotherhood and fierce loving ability. Each one brings their own brand of uniqueness to a story along with their deep sexual Dominance underscored with a caring, protective nature. I LOVE everything about them, especially their banter, it fills me with the warm fuzzies… Their platonic bond is second to none in the fictional world.

This series is, for me, a FOREVER FAVOURITE!

The passion of a Joey W Hill book is intense and consuming. I have been working my way through the Knights of the Boardroom. These Knights are immersed in the world of BDSM and make no excuses for their Dominance. This intensely emotional story is about Peter Winston, the Army Captain, the "breast man", a Master and a Knight.

I adore the fact that when these men meet "the one" they go in full throttle and know that failure is not an option in attaining the submissive that steals their heart. They are confident, sexy, and gentlemanly; they are men of pain and pleasure.

Peter Winston is the man of action amongst the Knights. He is also an Army Captain in the National Guard. He has watched 2 of his best friends find the submissive of their dreams. Before being deployed again, the Knights take Peter to one of the best BDSM clubs in the South. Dana Smith is a Staff Sergeant in the army, she's being deployed the next day but she wants one magical night, to submit to a Master who can handle her. She's a newbie at the club but she notices Peter. The club manager tells Peter of her interest and as he locks eyes with her, something is ignited in Peter. Dana is not Peter's normal type but there is something about this petite black woman that stirs something deep within. They have one extraordinary night. Their chemistry is earth shattering and while Dana knows this is only one night, their connection is one that could be forever. Peter is the Master of her dreams. As she leaves, he tells her that he will see her when she returns. But war is never pretty and Dana is involved in an attack and is returned to the states a broken soul with injuries that she doesn't think she can overcome. The reason she still breathes are the letters that Peter wrote her. She never responded, a test she made him do to prove that he wanted to see her when she returned. But Dana has no will to live and believes that she will never see Peter again. But what she doesn't know is that Peter was dead serious and he told her he was coming for her come hell or high water. She has not a chance against Hell- High Water- or a very determined Peter Winston in getting his girl back.

Peter pushes Dana to want to live again, to breathe again, to love again. Peter is gentle, yet firm with Dana. She craves to fully submit to her Master but her injuries have taken her spirit. He know that she is the one for him, he just has to make her see that he is the one for her.

When 2 souls meet and are perfect for one another, time nor distance does not matter. When you meet that one perfect person, the heart knows. This is a story of 2 perfect souls that meet, get parted and the perils of war create a riff in them coming full circle. A beautiful love story of compassion, need, want, passion, strength, and commitment. The injuries of war can break you but they don't have to define you, especially when you have someone that holds your heart and spirit and believes in you. Peter Winston believes in Dana Smith and their story is beautiful, erotic and off the charts!!

 photo HonoredBound1_zpsef16d96c.jpg

I will tell you I believe that Joey Hill writes the most beautiful erotic words. They make me feel and connect with every character. She is by far one of my favorite authors.....

5 stars for the "Soul-Sucking Predators of the Bayou"

Joey Joey Joey ....... you are AMAZING!!
Peter and Dana's story is simply heartbreaking but in an oh so good kinda way ;D
I ADORED this story!

Favorites lines:

People aren't jigsaw puzzles, Dana. Sometimes people don't fit until they rub up against each other, chisel the rough edges and the shields away. The more they want it to work, the more willing they are to do that rubbing.

If you let me into your soul, let yourself be inside mine, you'll always see me more clearly than anyone.

You were miles and miles away for over a year, but I saw you every day, sweetheart.
Every fucking day.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, ALL the characters in this series are fantastic!!
One of my absolute favorite things about this series are the relationships between the men; they have an unshakable bond that exists between them and some of the best banter I have ever read.

This series is a definite re-read for me and not just once or twice or even three times; this is a series that will NEVER EVER get old :D

I loved it. Beautifully written. Finally a story about people who are not physically whole but flourish nonetheless. .***I AM ADDING ON TO THIS REVIEW** so if you days ago I was talking to a friend who asked me to recommend a book to her after finding out what types of books she likes I recommended this author Ms. Hill. And I specifically told her about this book. I read this book a few years back and it was before I was aware there was such a thing or genre of interracial romances. So my friend borrow the book electronically from the library and at no time anywhere was it written that this was an interracial romance. When I read this book I clearly knew the male lead was white and the female lead was a black woman both of them were in the military. The blurb nor the cover indicate that there is a black female lead. I'm not sure why but it doesn't. The female lead is a major part of the book as is the male lead so I don't know why they did not include this as an interracial romance. Nonetheless I enjoyed the book I just wish somehow it was written somewhere that this is a interracial book.

This book was really beautiful. I haven't read many books by this author, which is a shame, because the writing style is simply amazing.

The reason why I don't read books by this author so eagerly is simply because the public sex in BDSM club isn't my thing, Dom sharing his Sub with other Doms and seeing that as Sub's trust is really - ??!?!?! - to me, because if they are so possessive... *sigh* I get it, but I don't get it, if you know what I mean... And also "weird" BDSM scenes (for example in this book fountain in use as "device" for sex) are simply not my thing. Honestly, I really skim those parts.

But then again, I get mesmerized by how beautifully everything is written.

Yes, this book made me cry near the beginning, and yes, I like when books make me cry and get that emotion from me, but some things just don't do it for me... Not in a way I don't like, more in a way I am simply indifferent to it.

Loved it!! I knew I would enjoy it...it's a Hill book:)) It lived up to what I was hoping it would be for the most part. I'm just greedy and wasn't ready to let them go.
Peter and Dana had such a believable connection IMO. Its always nice when an author can pull that off in a short:)) Both strong yet vulnerable characters. Trust!!

"Was it still possible to fly if you had to see yourself another way, through another's eyes?"

One of many glimpses of Dana's struggles w/what she thought made her "less than".

If you're in the mood for a hot and emotional novella? Well, here ya go:)) Enjoy!!

Big thanks to Baba and her kick ass review:))

"“If you let me into your soul, let yourself be inside mine, you’ll always see me more clearly than anyone.”"

"“Even though I'd love to hear your sweet voice, even if it was only words on a page, it doesn't matter. When I sleep, I share dreams with you. You're right next to me in this cot. I hear your breathing, and feel peace; at the same time I ache because you're also so far away. I think loving you, having you in my life, will be like that. A never-ending craving and peace at once.”"

WOW!... WOW! WOW! WOW!

This was the third time I read this story and can I just say that I absolutely LOVE it and don't tire of it?

This book is not only beautifully written but also full of emotional moments. One of my JWH all time favorite.

Dana is strong, generous and feisty with sparkle of mischief. As for Peter, can I just say that a loving and determinate to fight to keep the woman he loves man is HOT.

"“I don’t want to win the battle, Dana. I want to take the field, win the war. When I make love to you in this bed, it’s going to be because you’ve accepted you’re with the man and the Master you want for the rest of your life.”"

"“There you are,” he murmured. “The girl I met in that club. As far as my heart goes, you have it, sweetheart. God’s going to have to fight you for it.”"

Though neither Dana nor Peter is into extreme pain or practices, I'd say that they are both on the hardcore side of the BDSM. Dana is aware of her submissive nature since she's a teenager and as for Peter, well, this quotation explains it better than my words would.

"He’d brought her into this kind of setting for a reason. He was the hard-core trappings, the dungeon, the spanking bench and whips. If he’d taken her into a dungeon, she might have been terrified down to her toes."

They are both about to go on a military mission in the Middle East when they meet at The Zone an upscale BDSM club in Florida (Tyler-from-The-Nature-of-Desire-series's club), and...

"Holly shit.
For a second, he thought he was looking at Ben's special arrangement, but because Ben knew Peter's tastes, he wouldn't have arranged for this girl. Not unless he'd reached ass deep inside of Peter and pulled out some unconscious dream he hadn't realized he had. All the attributes that Peter usually sought weren't obvious in this one. In fact, she wasn't anything like the women who usually attracted his attention. Yet here he was unable to look away."

They first night together is mind blowing. But Dana doesn't believe in fairy tales or love at first sight, and though Peter (the man and the Dom) is everything she ever dared to dream of, she already lost too many loved people and isn't prepared and willing to face that kind of risk again.

"Finally, she'd given up, basking in the freaking glow of the most amazing experience she'd ever had.[...] Last night had overflowed with magical trappings, perfect timing, everything. That wasn't real. In a real world, Cinderella had to go back to being Cinderella the next day."

Fortunately, Peter is determined to follow his gut feelings and not let her go.

"But he saw her and, God, it was exactly like last night. Everything he'd learn about this particular woman would fascinate him; he was sure of it. He'd want to learn more and more. This was real. [...]
He'd take anything, even thirty minutes in a coffee shop, but she was running late. So he'd have to treat the next ten minutes as the most important of his life - without scaring the shit out of her."

The airport scene was one of the best goodbye scene ever. And the letters episode is just b e a u t i f u l.

"I can't believe I agreed to this shit. One minute I feel like some lovesick fool; then I remember that kiss, the way you ran to me at the airport, and I can barely breathe."

They each go their way, and a year or so later when he's back from his military mission, Peter is first devastated to learn that not only Dana was severely injured but she also lost the will to fight, then determined to bring her back to life.

"[...] But he was still warring with it, the need to nurture and yet take her over at once. Hold her close and spank her within an inch of her life for scaring him. Well, hell, there was time for both, wasn't there? [...] Then he could sate his overwhelming desire to give her the tenderness and comfort he had stored to overflowing in him, learn everything he wanted to know about her."

If I wasn't already in love with Peter, I would have fallen for him then.

"Peter knew she was afraid. He ached to tell her that she didn't have to do anything, that he'd protect her from everything. Every instance of fear or pain she had tore him apart inside. She'd had months, but it was still new to him. He wanted to grieve with her for what she'd lost, let her know the utter terror he'd felt at the idea of her being gone from his life before she'd really fully entered it."

"“I know, sweetheart. I wish I could take away your fear, but the only way I know to do it is to help you face it. I’d face it for you if I could.”"

I also would like to say that this book is all about Dana and Peter. We'll meet the other K&A men, but there is no sharing in this book.

"“Shh... let me hold you. I've burned to hold you, sweetheart.”"

Book three is about Peter Winston finding his one and only Dana Smith.

I tend to say about these knights that when they fall, they fall hard, and it was no different for Peter. In his case, one night was enough for him to realize he couldn't let Dana just go. The verdict was in pretty quickly: he had to make Dana his. It was simple as that. Problem was the night he spent playing with her in the club was just before he left for another tour in Afghanistan. Luckily for Peter, he had great friends who were willing to dig around and find out who the enchanting sub was.

It turned out she was being sent away on duty as well, but not before Peter made her promise to give him a fair shot after they were both back.

As much as Dana thought chances were slim at best they would be together upon their return, getting his letters always brightened her day... until the terrible accident that cost her her sight, most of her hearing, scarred her, and made her lose the will to live.

That is how Peter found her after his tour ended.

Convincing Dana he still wanted her, convincing her to let him help her, and ultimately convincing her they were meant for each other proved to be quite a task. But, honestly, with Peter and the other K&A men, she never really stood a chance.

This one was rather different from the previous books -- it was definitely much sadder, but that wasn't all. In books 1 and 2, Matt and Lucas were on a mission to show Savannah and Cass they were natural submissives, submissives they loved. Dana was already well aware of her sexual nature. The mission at hand here was convincing that stubborn woman, who didn't want to feel like anyone's burden, who hated being helpless, that she was not any of that, but a desirable young woman who could be whatever she set her mind to, and for her to accept Peter as her Master.

Three days for that mission was all the K&A men needed.

These glimpses we get in each book about their friendship, and how it works, the code they follow, is something that fascinates me. I loved having another opportunity seeing them in team action. And another thing this book made me was to really look forward to Ben's book. Really look forward to it.

Blah ..... OK , read the first one and thought it was OK, gave the 2nd one 3 stars. Really wanted to LOVE this one - the premise was good but just did not do it for me. I look at Baba's review and gifs and say to myself were we reading the same book ... maybe I was just not in the right frame of mind for this. I think the whole falling too hard too fast is a major issue for me ..... they meet and they HAVE to be together .... can't buy it. Heard that Ben was a total asshole in his book and wanted to read it but at this moment in time could not be arsed to read any more of the series.... ah, well, you win some, you lose some... now what to read next? That is the question.

"The books that affected you the most are hardest to review."

I've read something to this effect somewhere here in Goodreads. And I totally agree since I always have this problem to the ones which gave me the figurative punch to the stomach and the pinch to the heart.

I read this in Facebook and I just have to include this in my review.

"I feared rejection until I learned to have faith in myself.

I feared pain until I learned that it’s necessary for growth.
I feared the truth until I saw the ugliness in lies.

I feared life until I experienced its beauty.

I feared death until I realized that it’s not an end, but a beginning.

I feared my destiny, until I realized that I had the power to change my life.
I feared hate until I saw that it was nothing more than ignorance.

I feared love until it touched my heart, making the darkness fade into endless sunny days.

I feared ridicule until I learned how to laugh at myself.
I feared growing old until I realized that I gained wisdom every day.
I feared the future until I realized that life just kept getting better.
I feared the past until I realized that it could no longer hurt me.
I feared the dark until I saw the beauty of the star light.
I feared the light until I learned that the truth would give me strength.
I feared change, until I saw that even the most beautiful butterfly had to undergo a metamorphosis before it could fly."

Dana, a veteran, who knows she's a submissive down to her core and has met many masters till now, visits Surreal for a night of fun, before her deployment the next day. She meets Peter, a veteran and one of K&A men, who shows her what it feels to be with a loving and caring Dom.

One night together, next day Peter tells her that he wants to keep seeing at the airport. Peter gets deployed and so does Dana. She makes him write her letters which he keeps doing for a whole year but something happens and everything changes.

Peter decides that he'll do everything to get what he wants, and Dana is the only thing he wants and care for. It was love at first sight but this story is so emotional and heart wrenching. With everything that happens and how they both overcome that and accept themselves and each other was amazing.

Dana is a Sergeant in the military, she likes being in control, except in bed where she is a submissive. She knows it in her heart, has known it for a long time but hasn't found yet the Master she would willingly relinquish control to. While on leave she visits The Zone, a BDSM club, and a man catches her eye.

Peter is spending the night at The Zone with the other Knights of the Boardroom, for his last night in town before leaving on a one-year-long tour, as he is a Captain in the military. His friends had plans for him, but when Dana catches his eye, he goes after her.
They share one epic night, but comes morning both have to go back to their duties.

Fast forward one year, Peter comes back from tour to learn that Dana has been back for 12 months badly injured. She lost her sight, and most of her hearing and has become a shell of herself.
Knowing deep down that she is the one for him, he steps up to help her heal and find her way back.

This book was slightly different than the previous ones. There is insta connexion but it felt more developped to me and I appreciated to have a story happening outside of the boardroom and I loved the dynamic of Peter and Dana.

Holy Moly, Spicy Guacamole. I wasn't expecting so many tears. I was bawling like a baby. My heart ached for Dana. She must have been terrified and I wanted her to stand her ground a little bit more. I mean, come on, Peter, don't throw her in the deep end. Ease her way into it. She's just starting to trust you. One minute your are a completely independent woman and the next you're blind. Could you imagine? Because I can't. I "tried" to be blind for one day (8 hours) back in High School for a "handicap awareness week" and it was terrifying. It was the hardest out of everything I tried--wheelchair, deaf, no arms, and deaf and mute. You rely so much on your sight and I could definitely see where Dana was coming from with her attitude.

Peter, you fine specimen of man you. You pissed me off a few times and I would have walked out on your ass, but I guess Dana is better than I am. I loved how you wanted to cherish Dana and protect her, but I also didn't like how you knew she was scared and terrified and made her do it anyways when she begged you not to. I couldn't get over that part for some reason.

The letters! That's all I have to say about those.

Nice to see Lucas, Cass, Matt, and Savannah. Kind of shocked me with some of the updates though. Again, I cried.

I will say this one was a little too "preachy" for me. I am not religious so I can not relate to people who quote the bible or talk about god or the lord. It actually makes me uncomfortable in some ways.

Dana and Peter shares a mindblowing night together in a BDSM club before they´re both deployed. Both feel the connection, but since they don´t have time to explore it, they promise to meet up when the tour´s up.
Peter promises to send letters she won´t have to reply to, since she´s still doubtful.
Then disaster strikes, and the Dana that returns is a wounded one, both body and soul. Can Peter help her get back to her old self? And, more importantly, will she let him?
Smutty fluff, dominance and lots of emotions. Dana had me in tears, at least.

Did not finish. Not sure why I couldn't get into this story. Maybe it was the annoying self pity that turned me off. Certainly it was the ridiculous plot. I did not find it tear jerking or full of love as some reviewers claim, and wasn't impressed with the way the story was written/laid out. The first two books in this series were more to my liking, even though I'm not much into bdsm.

I have mixed feelings about the story as a whole, but I enjoyed many of Dana's and Peter's moments.

Not really my cup of tea. It ended up being predictable and boring. I love Joey Hill's writing and most of her books. This book may work for others, it just didn't work for me.

This is a truly wonderful, beautiful, romantic book, and I loved it. And unlike the first two books of the series, it doesn’t involve any preposterous scenes of a woman suspended naked over a boardroom table in an almost magical seeming suspension device (I really don’t believe the technology for that device exists). There was nothing improbable about Peter and Dana’s story. Romantic in the extreme, but I don’t have a problem with love at first sight, having experienced it myself. I loved the way their relationship developed, and the fact that the D/s aspect of it was a part of how Dana healed emotionally from her war injuries. There was one scene where all the men are involved in giving .Dana what she needs, but in a very restrained way, and again apart from Jon’s almost magical sex toys, with believability.

As per usual another well written book. Although I did not feel as I was fillet to the bone with this book. I like the way how this book was presented in terms of you have two soldiers that are head over heels for one another and even though they go their separate ways as their Enlistment is concern. Peter comes back and one piece and is looking forward to spending his time with Dana when he gets the bad news that she was injured. Dana refuses to do what is needed to be done in order to get better because she feels like what's on the outside is reflected what's on the inside. Peter is determined to change her mind and make her see that he loves her regardless of what she looks like.

I love these guys. Each one is so male, alpha male. They each have their own ideas of the woman that will make them happy and when they find her they put all the efforts into winning her favor. I appreciate that Ms. Hill had both central characters as part of the military. While I wish Dana hadn't had to be injured so badly it is wonderful that Ms. Hill did the research and handled the injuries so well. Peter won my heart with the compassion and determination he used to pulled Dana out of her depression and apathy. I love all the K & A men so far. They are what we need more of in the overall population.

This story of love is powerful, poignant, dramatic and erotic. Joey W. Hill' has written a compelling book about Dana, a wounded warrior, and Peter, the who fell in love with her in one night. Their relationship was handled with grace and dignity. His strength, resolve and honor are mirrored in his love for Dana. Failure was not an option when it came to saving his woman. Dana was angry, defeated and frightened until Peter essentially kidnapped and took her home to be with him. Through persistent bullying and love he gives her hope, peace and purpose.

Loved this story!

HEIGHTENED AWARENESS

A one-night encounter changes everything and yet solidifies everything. Being a soldier can have heavy consequences, moving beyond those consequences is the hard part, but not insurmountable. The one thing that binds all of this together is love, as cherished as it gets, in all its various forms.
This is the first story I have ever read that uses blindness as the device to move the story forward, using it in a very positive way. An unputdownable story that is not to be missed. Definitely recommend.

Plus 2 stars for the re-read

I read this book 5 years ago and I remember not being able to override the BDSM aspect of the story. However, I've been wanting to give it a second try because of the main characters and all things considered, it wasn't hardcore BDSM. I think I might be more "mature" to try other books in the genre.

So Breathe taking!

A Beautiful Story of a bond between two people who only knew each other one time. Two soldiers discontinue country, one comes back whole one damaged. But Peter fights for the woman he loves with all his heart. Dana may be injured but he will not give up on her. He will show her thru his eyes, how much he needs and loves her! He is her Master and he will make sure she is protected and loves and not alone in this. A must read.

I have just recently been reading this author and was over the moon when I found that she had a interracial story on her roster. Not enough of these established author's write interracial stories and there is enough interracial couples in the world but not reflected in this genera or by well known authors. I enjoyed this story, I loved the fact that there was a disability involved but the story demonstrated that this should not be an issue for not having this type of relationship. Good Read!
